Episode Five: The Call

*Eve riles back*

*Saberdramon tries to enter the castle*

Taiyo: "Who's Grademon?"

Mistymon: "Grademon was my comrade. My...my friend. We defended this place from the harlots forces who sought to destroy it, in an attempt to crush our dreams. We dreamed of rebuilding the Order ever since we heard the tales of the Knights during our time in the Village. I would ask Elecmon day in and day out to tell me the tale of Dynasmon until I could remember it word for word. Grademon gave his life to defend our dream. And thanks to that cursed Dark Knight, he's gone forever."

M Gazimon: "The Mistress wants you both. Don't know for what."

S Gazimon: "But it's off to the dungeon with you!"

The DarkTyrannomon spit fire at Saberdramon while DarkKnightmon jumps, Twin Lance in hand directed at Saberdramon's stomach.

The attacks are repelled by the barrier, more fire blasts come at them from behind as the first pair of DarkTyrannomon come up from the rear.

Kylie is taken to the window of a tower where she's forced through, her landing being fairly unpleasant. Inside is a laboratory (see Eve's encounter with her other half) and what could only be the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.].

MetalPhantomon: "Greetings, Child of Kindness."

They watch Eve and Terriermon head towards the lighthouse.

Nefertimon: "Was force really necessary?"

Hitomi: "Words weren't getting through to her."

Azuma: "We have a legacy to live up to then."

Dark!Azuma: "Hardly. Despite upgraded means of Digivolution, no one has shown to be capable of reaching that potential. What good is giving someone the Crest of Light when they don't understand the concept? Or the Crest of Hope to someone who has no hope for their comrades? It's not that being pulled here didn't concern them, you are to work as one, it's that you didn't have any hope that they could be on any help."

*Eve shoots several dirty looks at Hitomi*

Eve:<You know...she's right.>

<Huh?>

Eve:<I don't deserve this crest. I shouldn't even be a chosen child. All I seem to add to the group is suffering.>

*Saberdramon uses Night roar on DarkKnightmon*

*Euryale catches herself & looks up.*

"Oh...I'm very sorry to hear that. We'll see to it that they are destroyed."

*They turn, dodge, & attack.*

OOC: Protip, people get fatigued by constant fights.

Taiyo looks at Euryale, confused then back to Mistymon.

Taiyo: "Dynasmon was like Magnamon then?"

Mistymon: "Yes, they both were apart of the Order. How did you know?"

Taiyo: "Renamon told us. Would you um...tell us about Dynasmon? If that's okay."

Taiyo looks to Euryale for any signs of disapproval. Meanwhile, Mistymon looks at Kyubimon somewhat impressed by her knowing at least one Knight's story.

Soon Cameron is being escorted down a hallway decorated with portraits of LadyDevimon in various poses and against various backdrops. The small Gazimon follows behind him, carrying his Digivice and D-Terminal while humming a jaunty tune.

DarkKnightmon barrels through the attack and sticks its lance into Saberdramon who reverts back to Biyomon. The Dark Knight catches Biyomon and looks to the DarkTyrannomon standing on both sides of it then to Dorugamon and Sunflowmon who begin to lose altitude as they barely avoid the pair of Fire Blasts, another pair incoming.

DarkKnightmon: "Make sure those two are driven back. They will be welcomed back in due time."

DarkKnightmon heads inside the castle while the two DarkTyrannomon that it spoke to pass through the barrier as the front gate opens.

Kylie is soon unconscious while the Reaper works its magic.

They resume watching Azuma who slowly begins to stir.

Eve eventually comes to the base of the hill the lighthouse rests on. Aside from projecting a black light, it looks fairly normal.

Azuma: "We're all a bunch of [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], aren't we?"

Dark!Azuma: "To put it bluntly, yes. The first generation grew to be stronger individuals during their journey. What have you done? Made enemies of your comrades? Make little progress in reaching the end of your quest? Hindered progress?"

Azuma [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] something in the back of his mind breaking.

Azuma: "So this is it."

The white of the room returns to the blue-green color the interior of the lighthouse was at the start of his climb.

Azuma: "I'm the bad guy."

Azuma and Pegasusmon wake up on the beach, their eyes wet and stinging, Azuma has a sharp pain in his chest as he awakens with a cough.

Terriermon:<Don't listen to the darkness, it's saying whatever it can to throw you off.>

Eve:<I understand that, I'm just so afraid it might be true.>

*Cameron rolls his eyes*

<Someone's full of herself.>

*Euryale really makes no gestures or expressions one way or the other.*

A"There's a lot, do you think we can beat them?"

R"Nope. Go get Euryale & Taiyo, I'll keep them busy."

A"Are you sure? It seems dangerous."

R"Time is a factor, here."

*And so Aroma reluctantly flies off as Dorugamon shoots a cannonball at a DarkTyrannomon.*

Mistymon nods and takes a deep breath.

Mistymon: "Dynasmon, the Passionate Warrior. Possessing the spirit of a wyvern and armor made of high density Chrome Digizoid, its strength was only out done by Alphamon and Omnimon. Its dogma was "Deep, unquestioning loyalty to ones lord." Some would say that was a fault as it could serve a malicious lord who'd wish to see it do evil, but Dynasmon refused to believe that. Friendship was one of the principles the Order was founded on and loyalty is apart of friendship.

Dynasmon and LordKnightmon were inseperable. Any task one was dispatched to complete, both of them took to it. Their bond was said to be even stronger than WarGreymon and MetalGarurumon's and they formed the embodiment of the Orders principles."

They were just like myself and Grademon...

Mistymon: "On the Continent of Folder, the two were dispatched to defeat a great monster that had been attacking Star City, Reapermon.The two were perfect for the job, working in perfect synchronization, LordKnightmon was the fastest of the two, so it move in an deliver a mighty blow with its Pile Bunker and direct the enemy to Dynasmon who'd then unleash a devestating attack. On weaker enemies, it was often enough to destroy them in a single blow. Reapermon was no push over though and it grew wise to their strategy. Duftmon often suggested they use different strategies, but they refused. They believed their bond made them unbeatable.

LordKnightmon was the one to fall to Reapermon's scythe, shattering their bond.Dynasmon lost its temper. In its fury to destroy Reapermon, Dynasmon unleashed the full power of its Dragon's Roar attack. An ability with power that even surpasses Alphamon's, destroying Reapermon and a large portion of the city.. Dynasmon's anger did not result in any casualties. Reapermon had already slain the city's inhabitants during the inital rampage."

Taiyo: "Are...are all of their stories so tragic?"

Mistymon: "I'm afraid so."

Blasts of fire pass Aroma and the tiring Sunflowmon, the DarkTyrannomon making no effort to pursue them.

Dorugamon's attack illicts a grunt from a DarkTyrannomon. The four then begin to advance on Dorugamon, forming a semi-circle around him.

The Dobermon growl at Cameron as they enter another hallway and descend a flight of stairs.

S Gazimon: "Watch what you say about the Mistress or she'll have your tounge."

In the same hallway, they see DarkKnightmon carrying the unconscious Biyomon heading in the direction their going, their pace slowing.

Azuma: "Hey..."

He struggles to sit up, clutching his chest. He spots the footprints on the beach Eve left behind and chuckles slightly.

Azuma: "So she left, huh? I don't blame her. I'd leave to if I could. Walk away and never look back. Maybe out into these black waters."

Hitomi: "Wha...what are you saying?"

Azuma: "I'm saying everything would be all right if I weren't here. Just imagine how much better this whole ordeal would be. I brought ruin to us all."

Hitomi: "That's not true."

Azuma: "Of course it is. I'm incredibly unlikable. I'm sure Patamon only likes me out of obligation."

Pegasusmon: "What went on in that lighthouse?"

Azuma: "I was tried and born again. Born a broken man."

At the lighthouse she finds there is no door anywhere on it. Should she look back towards the beach she can see Azuma had woken up.

*Euryale crosses her arms.*

"You know, I don't want to come off as insensitive, but it seems like all of these guys died because of pure stubbornness."

*Since I was not answered, I am forced to assume that Dorugamon is still flying, & thus not at risk. He fires another attack at the one he'd presumably wounded.*

*Eve groans and runs back*

Kyubimon: "Magnamon's tale dealt with its insecurity, pride and jealousy. It was Duftmon who paid the price."

Taiyo: "Were they all partner Digimon at one point?"

Sanzomon: "Yes."

The DarkTyrannomon spit fire him.

They wait until DarkKnightmon is out of sight before picking up the pace entering the same room it did. It's another hallway this one leading down into the castles basement.

Hitomi: "I...I don't know what to say or do at this time."

Azuma: "Just...stay with me."

Hitomi abruptly hugs Azuma, a scene which Eve walks in on.

Without Light there can be no Hope. And the reverse is true.

Terriermon:<GROUP HUG!>

*Terriermon runs up and hugs the pair*

I hope Kylie's safe...

"Okay, well, how did Dynasmon & Magnamon die?"

*He dodges & attacks again.*

Zarek: "In battle as the others before them. Magnamon's was exceptionally unpleasant, its armor absorbed so much energy all it could do was try and release it through one final attack and in the end it exploded, the Digimental that made up its armor going along with it.

Dynasmon wasn't quite the same after LordKnightmon's death and the damage it had done to Star City. Looking back, we should have discharged him from the Order or at least did something. Upstairs he wasn't quite all right and it showed on the battlefield. Its heart just wasn't in it."

Zarek comes up from behind Sanzomon and Mistymon, the former turning to face him.

Sanzomon: "What brings you here?"

Zarek: "A big bird told me you wished to speak with me."

Dorugamon feels the heat on him as he grows more weary and sluggish, the DarkTyrannomon less bothered by his attacks. They return fire, but don't bother to give chase or anything. Some blasts go way off as they're exhaled.

Further into the basement, they come to the dungeon where DarkKnightmon stands with a Cerubemon, Biyomon nowhere in sight. The Gazimon freeze up while the Dobermon just sit down.

DarkKnightmon: "Dobermon, come with me. Your destiny awaits."

DarkKnightmon continues down a hallway followed by the three Digimon. When they're out of sight, the small Gazimon tosses Cameron's trinkets in a corner while the other retrieves a key off a wall hook and unlocks a cell door, shoving Cameron towards it.

S Gazimon: "That DarkKnightmon gives me the creeps."

The two don't pay Terriermon any heed.

Azuma: "I don't deserve this."

Beneath the ocean's black water, the Priest begins to make its way out of the city, its hunger satisfied by the creatures of void and darkness the Shademon refer to as Failures of Infinity.

Shakamon's seal may still hinder the city from rising, but it has weakened enough for it to get out.

*Aroma wonders how long it's going to take to find the others.*

Eve:<You don't really have a choice at this point. We have to stand and fight.>

Taiyo sends Aroma a message asking if she and the others are okay.

Taiyo: "What was the other group like?"

Zarek: "Large, really large. Suspicious and uncooperative at first, but eventually they grew and managed to work together as one which was a big deal as their opposition sure didn't grasp teamwork."

The DarkTyrannomon continue to not pursue and merely spam breath attacks.

===================================

And that's when Cameron is pushed into and locked into a dingy dungeon cell, the Gazimon scampering off.

Kylie wakes up in a bedroom lying on a doggy bed, a collar around her neck with a chain attached to the bed she's beside, hands bound behind her back.

LadyDevimon: "So glad you're awake and all patched up. The only time my toys should be broken is when I break them."

===================================

Azuma pulls himself away from Hitomi.

Azuma: "What? That's not it at all. I deserve to be here. I've brought nothing positive to this venture. I've only worked to divide us, not bring us together."

*Dorugamon lands a healthy distance away, blasting a cannonball at the one he keeps attacking.*

*Euryale finally uncrosses her arms.*

"Who were their opposition?"

Not really, we need help. I'm looking for you now.

*Kylie looks very confused, and just stares at LadyDevimon*

Zarek: "That's a-"

Euryale Crest flashes a violent red and begins to burn as another [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] appears over it, Mistymon, Sanzomon, and Zarek each exchange surprised looks. In the back of Euryale's mind she hears a boastful male voice with a hint of sympathy.

I am the strongest of them all.

Elsewhere in the Digital World, imprisoned atop a mountain, an ancient being feels great pain.

Zarek: "That would mean the Sun Stone was destroyed."

Should Aroma be looking at her Digivice, she can see she's closing in on Euryale & Taiyo's signals.

Meanwhile where Roatha is, the DarkTyrannomon deem Dorugamon has been pushed far enough back that they cease their attacks and return to patrol the castle paremiter.

LadyDevimon: "Don't look at me with those eyes, or I'll rip them out. Maybe while little Lunamon watches."

===================================

In the castle throne room, Lunamon is put in a cage with two bowls, one with water and the other food in it, the Gazimon looks around kind of nervous.

Azuma: "That's easier said than done. When you're naive."

*Euryale pats her chest with her fist, having not seen the glow of the Crest, & been so distracted that she largely ignored the voice. She also lets out a small cough.*

"I don't know what you're talking about. It's just a little heartburn, nothing to be scared of."

*So, instead, Dorugamon shoots an attack at the castle, to see what happens.*

*Eve crosses her arms*

<We don't have much of a choice.>

*She points at Gazimon*

Taiyo looks at Euryale, not too convinced by her claim. Meanwhile, Zarek and Sanzomon turn away, whispering to each other.

Zarek: "It knows of the Destiny Stones locations. And Lucemon's power extends from behind the Gate. Millenniummon won't free the Demon Lords at this point, right?"

Sanzomon: "I can't say for sure. There is also something else I'd like to discuss pertaining to Dagomon."

Zarek: "Another time, once they're on their way."

They turn back as Sunflowmon arrives on the scene.

It deflects off the barrier.

===================================

LadyDevimon: "Good girl. Keep it up and you might get to stick around a little longer."

===================================

L Gazimon: "I am the least of your worries. I shouldn't even be one of them."

===================================

DarkKnightmon and the three Digimon accompanying reach a door at the far end of the castle's dungeon, a room not even LadyDevimon knows about.

DarkKnightmon recites an incantation to open the door and enters.

With a wave of its hand, the room lights up, torches igniting revealing a carving on the floor that resembles the X-Antibody overlapped by the Evil Eye.

DarkKnightmon guides a Dobermon to the center of the seal.

DarkKnightmon: "You posses great potential inside of you, Dobermon. The potential to boast power to usurp the Mistress and claim this castle for your own. Today, I will unlock that potential."

DarkKnightmon speaks a spell, the flame of the torches flickers to a deep blue then violent purple. Dobermon begins to tremble and then howl as if in pain as it begins to transform to its X-Antibody form.

Azuma: "Do we ever have a choice?"

E"Aroma? What's wrong?"

A"Kylie, Cameron, & their partners got taken into LadyDevimon's castle! There are a bunch of DarkTyrannomon & a barrier that we can't get through!"

*Dorugamon watches to see if he can see anything about the barrier, particularly at the point of impact.*
