During the War of 1812, the United States decided it wanted Canadian territory. Upon breaching the border, however, they realized it was shit & begged the British to take it back. The resulting "no-givesies-backsies" was the war itself. Eventually, Canadia was just left to fend for itself. By some miracle, the population still is not extinct.

I recently (a few minutes ago) discovered Canada wasn't born from a shitload of British/French murderers and prostitutes. I always thought it started like the US and Australia.
