Magic In The Air

<Perhaps...this was not one of my better judgments.>

"Ya think?"

*They run after the pair. As they're about halfway up the hill, dozens of arrows rain down on them.*

"How is he doing that?"

<He's a VERY talented archer.>

*Ari covers his head with his sword and sprints towards the tower, doing his best to dodge the arrows. One of them grazes his raised arm, cutting him on the shoulder, while another one grazes his left leg. He lays his free hand on his right shoulder and light blue sparkles glow around the wound as it disappears*

[I should probably save magic for later... Don't want to get too tired already..]

OOC: The arrows are supposed to be my thing. >.>

*Without losing momentum, Arthur's as-of-yet-unnamed son withdraws a diamond-shaped helmet with a cross over the face, putting it on. He's hit by many arrows, but they all basically just bounce off of his armor. And Lilith had leapt onto his back to take advantage of the cover.*

<I am not a war horse. Please get off of me.>

"Are you crazy? He's shooting arrows at us! I'm staying back here where it's safe."

*By now they're about 20 feet away from the tower, but he fires an arrow in front of them, but this one has an orb tied onto it which explodes, hurling a tremendous amount of smoke around the hilltop. Their vision is clouded from all sides, their eyes burn, & they start to cough.*

*Ari coughs but doesn't stop running up the hill, swinging his sword at the smoke every now and then to try and clear the way.*

[I hear them right behind me, shouldn't be a problem.]

*The smoke clears somewhat, allowing them to see nearby sillohettes if they really focus. Ari & Lianne realize that they're right in front of the doorway, the flames having now been extinguished. Lilith & the Knight are nowhere in sight. Several arrows whizz by, getting closer & closer to Lianne's left ear.*

"R-Right next to you."

*He wings his sword against the incoming arrows*

"And going in."

*He walks through the doorway, sword ready*

*The first room in the tower is nothing but broken furniture & a stairway leading up. There are 2 sets of footprints in the dust leading to & up the stairs. Larger, armored ones & smaller ones with distinct boot prints.*

"... He took the Queen up there. A-Are you going to wait for them?"

*He blushes a bit, looking around to avoid eye contact. He climbs onto the stairway's first step*

*The next floor has a series of broken iron grates leading towards the stairway to the third story. The footprints continue.*

OOC: Don't you just love filler?

*Ari turns back to Lianne and grabs her left arm. Her arrow wounds are enveloped in blue light and reduced to small scratches*

"Hm.. That's the b-best I can do."

*He walks up to the 3rd floor*

*The next room is a stockpiling of arrows & bombs, but all of them have been broken apart on the stones. Once again, there's a staircase leading up. However, this time, they can see a cloudy sky through the stairwell.*

*He nods and goes up the stairs*

("They are up there... ready?")

*He looks up the stairs from a safe distance, afraid of being spotted*

*On the roof, they see Lilith locking swords with a fierce-looking knight. He has a boney face, a square jaw, brown hair drawn back into a ponytail, & a longbow over his chest. Additionally, he's not using a sword so much as a long, curved knife. Arthur's son passes Lianne & Ari as they come up to the roof, leading a woman by the hand.*

Arthur's son<I'll be back as soon as I can.>

*Ari runs up the stairs and stares at the three*

[Coming with them might not have been that much of a good idea...]

*He sweeps Lilith's legs out from under her & turns, stabbing at Lianne's throat.*

"M-Ma'am!"

*He runs to her and holds his hands out towards her neck, enveloping it in blue light*

[Dammit, I'm not strong enough...]

*The light glows a bright brighter and Ari starts sweating and burning up, eventually falling down on his knees, gasping for air*

[D-Did it work...?]
