Without spam, posting on a forum gets soo boring. So yeah, quit bitching about it

No, that's idiotic, spam is not the lifeblood of a forum, & BF's situation has absolutely nothing to do with a lack of spam.

Neo, a large number of members were most active in the spam section, after they all left, it was basically only 5 people left posting non stupid things.

It's not the life blood, but it sure does help keep people around... as long as it's fun spam.

The thing is, this is an RP forum. The RPs are what keep the forum alive, not whatever the hell goes on in this section.

That works until whoever owns the RPs you are on goes into hospital or something and you find you have almost nothing to do on here but spam.

As if any of use would go to the hospital.

If someone had to go to the hospital for an extended length of time, we'd do what we have to: Move on with the RP.

It's like Sheepbot said. What keeps the forum alive is the RPs, because it's an RP forum. BF's RP section, large as it is, keeps the forum alive in a sense, but all of those users could go elsewhere if they so chose. The entire RP could be uplifted & moved somewhere else, they don't need BF. You can basically think of it as a conjoined twin forum.

Recognizing that I can't keep a board up on spam alone, when & if someone takes an extended absence, I often have no choice but to press on without them. Hell, you're not here for about a day, & I usually have to do that.

You know how we kept pointing out to BF that banning 3 or 4 of the most active members was bad for it, regardless of the rules? That's often what it comes down to. The "right" thing to do may be to wait for that person, but the "smart" thing to do is keep the interest of everyone else in the RP so that it doesn't fall apart.

And nowadays nobody really cares about the 'right' thing.

It's not really something you can dwell on in a small forum. To take 2 quotes:

If your member base is around 10, you're better off keeping the most posts & the most members, even if that means not making a change you really want to make. Because, I don't care what your rules on content are, if you don't have posts, then you don't have a forum.

Of course, we've already seen that BF can't enforce their own rules for shit, so they're basically failing on all fronts, here.
