Well, at a certain point, you aren't shrugging anymore, you're just raising your arms. 9 chances out of 10, once you've reached this point, most people will not come to the conclusion, independently, that you are shrugging. Because what you're doing is raising your arms.

Where do you get raising your arms from? No where in my step by step instructions are arms even mentioned.

From "Really, REALLY big shrug." Your shoulders can move maybe half a foot before you have to start raising your arms.

I was being facetious. Now that you went and started insulting me, I have to wonder why you would take serious any reply that simply said "REALLY" more and more times.

Also, to ACTUALLY, so no seizures or "REALLY's", shrug something off one's shoulders, one does not need to dislocate their shoulders. A simple, small shrug will do, or has no one ever taken off a bookbag without using their hands, or quickly drop a dumbbell?

Taking a backpack off with no hands involves a lowering of the shoulders & possibly a flexing of the back. Not a shrug.

That would depend on where you have the straps on your shoulders, and how tight it is, but we're getting off point, and the point is not that engaging as well.
