Gathering Guardians

*Valefor retracts its wings and rockets upwards spinning to dodge the attack. Ark gets back up and starts searching his little black waistbag*

Ark: <Ouch... let's see... something that doesn't damage the ship, something that doesn't damage the ship...>

*Valefor darts down from behind the Sinspawn, clawing at its head*

*Syrona notices the group near the warf*

"Let's see what's going on, shall we?"

*One of the Hypello turns to her.*

Hypello<Ride ze shoopuff?>

"Luckily, I have a secret weapon!"

*Luna holds a hand to her head. Jerking her arm outwards & flaring her fingers, she generates a red, clock-like mist that surrounds Zephyr, who feels his movements become twice as fast. She then jabs at one of the Sincrabs, which begins wrestling with the spear. The Sinspawn continues to weather the attacks & dart its tentacles at Valefor.*

"Thanks Luna" with his movements sped up he makes another slash at the oversized lobster after clearinh out the sincrabs.

Ark: <Dammit, how could I have left them back at camp...?! What now...?>

*As a Sincrab attacks him, he slices its underbelly, snatching something from it.*

Ark: <Oh yeah!>

~Ark has obtained 1 Grenade~

OOC: Hope that's a suitable replacement, Tae.~Neo.

*It scuttles away, but not quite fast enough, as Zephyr hacks one of its legs off. The tendrils stab into Valefor, causing one side of the beast to slump in flight.*

~Valefor has reached Overdrive!~

OOC: I've decided that Aeons will be randomly allowed Overdrives.

OOC: Ya might wanna post a little something regarding the Aeons' Overdrives, not everyone has played FFX.

*Valefor hovers back and opens its beak, gathering energy in it, which it then releases in a thin but destructive beam that slides along the area the monster is at, causing an explosion*

Ark: <That... was awesome.>

*He sticks the grenade into his waistbag and jumps onto the closest crab, trying to plant on it and leap for the Sinspawn*

"Damn, I missed, Luna, can you do that thing again? I need another speed boost!"

"Don't worry, it stays active for a while!"

*While she's not looking, the Sinspawn blasts her, hurling her through the door to the lower decks. Soon after, its claw falls off. Most of its legs have broken & its tail is heavily cracked. It jerks its tendrils at Valefor once more. The Sincrab that Ark jumped on scuttles away, causing him to fall on his face.*

OOC: I'll put something about the Aeons in the Information topic after this post.

"Handle this thing Ark" Zephyr darts passed it through the door to the lower deck to check on Luna. "Hey Luna, are you still in one piece?"

Ark: <You make it sound so easy.>

*Ark just rolls forward and gets back up*

Ark: <Sea monsters should be weak against lightning. Valefor, whaddya got?>

*The Aeon flies forward and pecks at the Sinspawn's head before whipping its wings opened and casting a Thunder spell on it*

*The beast shudders along its length until the rest of its claws & legs fall off. The tendrils flail for a while, gradually slowing in their movements, until they're paralyzed. Finally, it takes on an odd blue sheen as it dissolves into Pyreflies. Luna groggily gets up.*

"I'll be fine."

*Soon after, the boat starts moving again, & they dock in Kilika. By this time, the sun is rising.*

OOC: It actually isn't, but the Sinspawn was so far gone that one more piercing hit would have killed it anyway.

Ark: <Luna, have you ever been to Kilika? I can show you around if ya want.>

*He giggles, juggling his dagger around*

*Max starts walking towards the warf.*

"Well, I guess so. Sounds fun anyway!"

"Thats good to hear"

Later when they arrive in Kilikia Zephyr looks around wide eyed, "This place looks awesome!"

"I prefer Besaid. It's really hot here."

*She unzips some of her armor as an islander runs up to them. He gives Ark a weird look before spreading his arms, bowing to Luna, & using a sweeping motion to bring his hands together in a circle.*

<Thank you both. That Sinspawn's been terrorizing the village for weeks. Are you, by any chance, a Summoner?>

"Oh. You're welcome. And yes. But I--ah--think you miscounted."

Zazak<We cross Moonflow on the Shoopuff. Then we take Mi'ihen Highroad to Luca.>

Hypello<Yoo are in luck. Theresh no Fiendsh on the Highroodshs todaysh.>

Igri<No Fiends on Highroads? That's odd. Crusaders? Migration?>

*The Hypello shakes its head to indicate that it doesn't know, then tugs on the climbs aboard the Shoopuff.*

Zazak<We won't fit on there unless our group goes alone. We'll board when the Shoopuff gets back. In mean time, we rest here. Meet back when Shoopuff returns.>

Zephyr looks at the man funny, "There's three of us here you know?"

Ark: <Sure, ignore the Al Bhed. Watch me as I care.>

*He walks past the man and into the village*

*Hitomi sits under a tree and opens up the Al Bhed book.*

Zazak<You are learning Al Bhed?>

"Umm...excuse me."

*Luna quickly returns the prayer & runs after Ark.*

"Hey, don't let it get to you. It's more important that you killed the Sinspawn than that someone's glad you did it, right?"

"I suppose."

"People are ignorant sometimes... this place has suddenly lost its charm Luna."

Ark: <Of course! Don't worry, I'm used to it. ... The temple's up in the woods.. but we should probably find an inn so you can get some rest first.>

"I'm fine, I got a lot of sleep aboard the S.S. Liki. Unless one of you needs the rest, I'm ready for a hike in the jungle."
