Gathering Guardians

"Good! As much as I like you guys, I really can't wait for this assignment to end and get some R&R."

*Syrona leans over again to look into the water*

"Plus, I've never been to Luca before."

*Max glances into the water, then looks away.*

Max: <So... what's going to happen once this job is done?>

[Oh...I forgot, I kinda dragged them away...didn't I?]

"Well, the three of us could spend some time in Luca, if you want. Then we can go our separate ways. I'll probably go back to Bevelle. We can travel back together if you'll be going that way."

*Syrona thought to herself for a moment*

"Actually, I think I'd like to see the Ronso Fangs in action while we're here."

Zephyr falls to one knee, "Fucking plant! Ark this was your idea you kow!"

*On 1 knee, Luna stabs her spear into the ground. Holding out her fingers, she generates a crackle of blue energy, which grows into a dagger-like shape. It keeps growing until it's as large as her old spear. She stands up, hoisting it over her shoulder, & hurls it at Lord Ochu. It impacts the Fiend dead-center & explodes, blowing chunks of bark off of it. She quickly picks her spear back up, pointing it at the Fiend.*

"When you're ready, I'll summon!"

Zazak<It's good to know you'll be rooting for us.>

*The other Ronso Fangs nod in agreement. A few even make facial twitches that may be smiles.*

Ark: <Ha, I'm always ready!>

*He circles behind Ochu and slashes at its back repeatedly*

"He's going to get us killed you know?" Zephyr stands guard to protect Luna from attack.

"Probably."

*Lord Ochu falls asleep again.*

"That helps, though. Should I summon Valefor?"

*Ark runs around it and back to Luna and Zephyr*

Ark: <Have her burn it down.>

"If she has fire"Zephyr says bluntly.

*Luna twirls her spear, causing magic to rise into the air & part the clouds. Valefor flies down, landing beside Tae. She's still drooping slightly from her previous battle.*

"As long as it stays asleep, we should be able to finish it off. But I doubt we can take too many more attacks."

Ark: <Gotcha. Valefor, can you use fire spells?>

*The Aeon nods and flies upwards, spreading her wings. She caws and casts a Fire spell so as for one of Ochu's tentacles to burst into flames*

"Ark is going to tbe the death of us" Zephyr mumbles.

*Luna slashes the other tentacle. Lord Ochu remains motionless.*

*The group finally arrives in Luca. In the distance, they see a spherical dome of water over the ocean. The Ronso Fangs begin to walk into the city as Zazak turns around & holds out a hand, a pouch of gil resting in his massive claw.*

Zazak<We can take it from here. Thank you. As promised>

~Syrona, Hitomi, & Max obtain 500 Gil!~

"You're welcome."

Max: <U-um... thank you...>

*Max puts the money in his pocket.*

*Valefor flies down and Ark holds onto her talons. She drops him on top of Ochu and he slides the knife down the monster's body until he's back on the ground. He steps back and Valefor casts Fire on the monster*

*Lord Ochu comically rolls over, trampling most of the jungle. It rises to its roots again, severely burned & with both tentacles missing. It then blasts Valefor with a water spell. The Aeon falls to the ground & disintegrates into pyreflies.*

"Valefor!"

*Luna runs towards the Fiend, slashing it across the front. It jerks a bit, but is still standing.*

*Zazak turns & walks away with the other Ronso Fangs, leaving the escort group on their own.*

Ark: <No!>

*He runs to the Fiend and stabs at it, next to Luna*

*Hitomi wanders off into the city.*

Zephyr runs in too and drops his sword down with a brutal slash.

*Max starts walking into town and finds a bench to sit on, and starts reading a book titled "A guide to future magic".*

OOC: Future magic?

*As Hitomi wanders through the city, she ends up close to the ocean. Not only can she get a closer look at the Blitzball Stadium, but she catches a boat coming into the harboer. Several buff-looking robed monks disembark along with this man, only his hair & beard are black, he has no wrinkles, & he's wearing a confident smirk. Afterwards, a similarly robed human, Ronso, & Guado also disembark. Noticing Hitomi, the trio smiles & waves at her. The crowd cheers on their arrival.*

*Near Max, 8 Al Bhed enter the city, near where the Ronso Fangs did. 3 are female, 4 are male. The females look slender & sleek while the males look buff. All are wearing some kind of wetsuit-like gear & goggles. The lead Al Bhed, also male, looks completely different. He was shorter & slighter than the other male Al Bhed, & he had shoulder-length black hair & a white robe with blue script, both in Spiran & Al Bhed. The Spiran script reads "knowledge is power."*

Lead Al Bhed<Oh, it's so humid in this city! And salty! Why can't we just hold Blitzball matches on Bikanel, eh?>

*Since I'm bored & a few more rounds won't make much of a difference, Lord Ochu collapses, gurgling. Luna walks towards it, waving her spear through the air. As she does a few graceful twirls, the Fiend dissolves into Pyreflies.*

*Hitomi gives them a half-assed smile and wave before she resumes wandering around the dock.*

"Hm...so much for sticking together."

*Syrona laughs to herself and heads to the Blitzball arena.*
