*Mimiru, Azuma, & Taiyo find themselves back here after completing their last task, which was an utter fiasco, but on the convoluted trip back, they managed to earn enough junk to make up for it.*

"If the Dukes and the Beoulves are all dead, that means that there's no one preventing Delita from taking Princess Ovelia to Lesalia, & marrying her."

*And so Lilith fills her mother in on Delita.*

<I see...do you think they actually love each other?>

<This marriage plot is not the only way for either of them to see their way to the throne. Lord Dycedarg had no royal blood, but he plotted to take the throne by force. Granted, his status as a Beoulve would have helped.>

*As they're walking through the forest, Reis is slowing them down, because she won't stop feeling the trees, & the leaves of the low-hanging branches.*

Reis<I had almost forgotten what it was like to feel with human hands.>

*She suddenly looks sharply in Beowulf's direction.*

Reis<Why was there another woman cursed by Bremondt?! I could understand if you had moved on after I was turned, but to bring her with you to rescue me...I was very firm that we were to be a household of two!>

Beowulf<What?! No, you misunderstand, my love!>

~Magick City of Gariland~

*Safian's home was damaged in some kind of magic brawl--the windows have been shattered along with some of the roof tiles--& Namond comes across the scene. The crowd of gawkers are also discussing the death of Dycedarg Beoulve, leaving Eagrose without leadership.*

Azuma: "My god it is good to be home."

Mimiru: "Anything's better than what happened back there. Damn disaster that was."

Azuma: "On the bright side, we have plenty of money to show for it. May not heal the damage done to our pride, but at least we can get some new clothes, so people may not think we were horribly degraded some time ago."

Taiyo: "No."

"I doubt highly they love each other, but this is the easiest plot by far," Zac said, "At the very least, I don't see Delita not going through with it simply because he doesn't like her."

Mortal shakes her head, "No, I'm with her." To emphasize her point Mortal takes a step towards Euryale and puts her arm around her.

Noctis suddenly got the mental image of Mortal claiming Euryale as a mate, and chuckled to herself.

*Safian's pretty pissed at her house getting damaged, and enters to see if anything was taken or damaged. Upon seeing the damaged house, Namond's face falls*

[I hope the owner's alright.]

*Namond goes to up the nearest bystander*

<Excuse me, do you have any idea what happened here?>

~Gariland~

<Don't know. Some kind of magic fight in the streets. Might've been Ramza.>

L"But that begs the question, what assurance does he have that Ovelia won't leave him for someone else?"

Reis<I see...so you would never be taken with Beowulf.>

Beowulf<Why do you imply that I would ever be taken with Mortal?>

*Not long after they arrive in town, they notice a plume of smoke to the east.*

"I guess we do work well together," Zac said with a smile, "As for Delita, I'm not sure what he has in plan, honestly."

"No, he would never catch my fancy," Mortal said.

Noct shrugged, "I doubt Mortal would ever cheat on Euryale. Nothing to worry about on that end."

Azuma: "Goddamn it. I suppose it's hero time."

Mimiru: "After that travesty? We'd be better to retire."

Azuma: "But there could be more spoils to gain with less bullshit. Or more. Probably more."

The three head towards the smoke.

Namond:<I see, thank you.>

*Namond approaches Safian who has left her house.>

Namond:<Are you alright miss?>

Safian:<I'm fine, thank you.>

*Safian marches off in the direction of whatever the equivalent to a constable is, while Namond follows*

Beowulf<Nor I on Reis.>

*They arrive at the east gate to find that it's now little more than a couple of charred poles in the ground. A group of knights are inspecting the pile of ash.*

*Suddenly, a squire rushes into the room.*

<Marquis Psyche! There's a breakout in the dungeons!>

*She finds a knight with gold lapels.*

<What is it?>

"I'm glad we've got that settled then," Noct said, "Everyone is as faithful to their partner as... something that is-- I lost the analogy..."

Sab kind of pats her on the shoulder, "Its alright. So, how much longer until we get to Bredmondt?"

OOC: Or did we already kill him? I forgot.

Zac takes a step towards the door, then realizes he doesn't know where the crap the dungeons are, so he waits for Lilith to take action.

Safian:<My house got damaged in what looks like a fight earlier. Do you have any information on it?>

*Safian gestures in the direction of her house*

Azuma: "What happened here?"

Beowulf<The trees are thinning. We should be at the Tor soon. Once we pass through, we will be at the castle.>

<It was likely Ramza, continuing his nationwide rampage. We know he came through here, attacking both Eagrose Castle & the Holy Mullonde Cathedral.>

<The gate was burned down...probably by Ordallia.>

*Lilith springs into action, leading him to a staircase into a long corridor with several side-chambers blocked off by barred doors. Along the path lie several slain knights. When they see movement up ahead, Lilith draws her sword.*

L"Hold! Who are you? What do you want?"

*Senthose steps into the light given off by a torch.*

S"I'm the Evil Overlord, & I'm here for my minion."

Safian:<I suppose that means nothing can be done. Thank you for your help.>

*Safian turns and nearly collides with Namond*

Namond:<So sorry, that was my fault.>

Safian:<It's fine. If you excuse me.>

*Safian heads off in the direction of the item shop, Namond still stalking*

Namond:[I just want to offer to help fix her house.]

Azuma: "Oh. Okay. I was expecting something worse."

"You're minion?" Zac thought for a second, having drawn his gun when Lilith drew her blade, "The only new prisoner we have is the woman, the ninja."

"Good," Mortal said, "I can't wait to put an end to him."

"Don't you think you're being a bit harsh," Sab said, "Not that he doesn't deserve what is coming, but, if it wasn't for him, you'd have never met anyone who is close to you now."

"He wronged me, and tried to have me killed. That is what this is about, for me anyway."

Reis<What do you--? Release me!>

*The group turns just inside to see a knight in a red cape teleport away with Reis. Standing next to the scene is a man with graying hair & a bitch curl, dressed in green armor with a white cape.*

Beowulf<Ser Aliste!>

Aliste>We meet again, Beowulf. I know not how you managed to free Reis of her curse, but Celebrant Bremondt bids me extend his deepest gratitude.>

Beowulf<Where is she? What have you done with her!?>

Aliste<Come now, there's no need to lose your composure. The girls sleeps peacefully. And when she awakens, she'll be safely within the keep of Lionel Castle, where Celebrant Bremondt awaits her.>

*And so she approaches the item shop with Namond following her.*

*Safian enters and approaches the counter*

Zac doesn't lower the gun, because it isn't smart to not keep yourself armed when bad guys are breaking out other bad guys.

Mortal draws her swords and runs at the man before double swinging.

Seeing as Mortal didn't care to use her words, Noct begins dancing a Forbidden Dance. Sab begins casting Hastja on Euryale.

Aliste<Are you sure you wish to do that? My men are loyal, yes, but I cannot say what they might do to your sweet Reis should I fail to return.>

*Beowulf throws his arm across Mortal's chest to keep her from attacking.*

Aliste<A wise decision. If you would have her back, you'd best make for the castle.>

*He turns to leave.*

Beowulf<Ser Aliste, wait! What has become of you? You were once my ally, and hers! Why now this?>

*Aliste turns back.*

Aliste<You know nothing, Beowulf. Have you no knowledge of the
bounty on your own head? 'Tis sum enough to make a man forget allegiance. Add Bremondt's reward to that, and you've one enough to make a man forsake it altogether!>

S<Oh, you're just asking for it.>

*Senthose turns, slashing the lock off of the cell door next to him. Vanessa emerges, glaring at the pair.*

V<We should kill them.>

S<Mayhap.>

Shopkeeper<What can I do for you?>

Safian:<3 Hi-Potions, please.>

"I see prison hasn't soured your disposition," Zac said.

Mortal is fondled.

Noct stops dancing, "Well, we rescued her once already, and we were on our way to Bremondt anyway." She shrugged, "It is unfortunate, but we'll make everything alright."

Aliste<I shall guarantee Reis's safety until such time as you arrive. If harm
should befall her, we lose our only hold on you. In the meantime, take care to guard your own neck. That head of yours is worth more than most men can even dream of.>

*He teleports away.*

Beowulf<Reis...wait for me.>

V<I'll see to it that you are the ones to rot in tiny cells, once the new world has been built.>

S<Let's just leave them. We have places to be.>

*Safian pays him then heads to the armor shop, because I'm dumb. Namond's still being a stalker*

"And what place would that be?" Zac asked.

Noct lets out a sigh, and rubs the back of her neck, "Well, lets get a move on. Damsels don't rescue themselves."

"Noct, we're damsels," Sab said.

"And were I captured I wouldn't rescue myself," Noct replied, "That is a lot of work. I'd wait for a group to come get me."
