Better Left Forgotten

Hector, Eduj and Astarte all had their own drinks and were seated. The sound of running water could be heard from somewhere in the house.
That would be a shame, but they might be helpful.

"There's nothing to be ashamed of," Mortal said, "Not everyone can defend themselves."

"Oh, no thank you," Sab said, "I can't hold my liquor, and I'm done trying to..."

"Anyone else hear water?" Noct said, looking around.

"I can defend myself just fine. I'm pretty sure you were told how I beat the Hell out of Sabroma's home invader. And stabbed him."

*Senthose takes a sip.*

*She drinks a little.*

"Yeah, what is that?"

L"Well, who is that, then?"

"That sounds like the shower," Astarte said.
"I would say that's our dad. Nothing to worry about," Hector said, seeming to find a little amusement in the last statement.

Azuma: "Vanessa something or other."

"Noct beat that twerp up too," Mortal said, "Then again, Noct can get kinda scary sometimes."

"She is just egging you on," Gabe said, "Don't listen to her."

"You're no fun," Mortal said.

"Oh, right," Noct let out a sigh, "God I'm jumpy..."

"Hard to blame you," Sab said, "Is your dad going to be okay with a bunch of people sleeping over?"

"Yeah," Astarte nodded. "As long as we don't keep him up being loud. Uh.."
She looked down and blushed, Hector snorted, stifling a laugh.

<Vanessa wouldn't help us even if we did find her.>

*Monu stands stock still, staring at the shadow*

A"I think we're rather quiet."

*Senthose had started looking off in a random direction somewhere in the middle there. He looks back.*

"Listen to her say what?"

*In addition to this voice, he can hear faint static & confused screaming.*

*Monu is stabbed in the back by a very large knife. The face he sees just before he collapses shocks him. Kerosene is dumped on him, the flames licking it while he's still partially conscious. A second later, Monu is left alone with no idea where he is. In the dark room, he can feel the stabbing, the burning, the cold, & teh suffocating quite acutely, until he finally succumbs to his wounds.*

T"Johnson. Her last name is Johnson."

L"We should look for her anyway. One of us is bound to be in a class with her. If we all look through our rosters, we should be able to find a contact E-mail. Maybe we can use that to find...something."

Noctis chuckled a bit at what Astarte said, then even louder at Aroma.

"What's so funny?" Sab asked.

Noct waved her hands, "Nothing, nothing..."

"Rude," Mortal said, finishing her drink.

Gabe just laughed at Mortal being ignored. She took another swig of OJ, then asked, "Looking at anything in particular?"

Astarte knocked back some of her drink, the pink in her face not really going away. Hector continued sipping at his own and messaged Monu, At the hospital yet?

Azuma: "I don't think any of us have any other classes with her. Also the whole dropping off the face of the Earth on a weekly basis thing. I think someone found her once or twice before."

<Hector and Eduj have the most luck finding her. We could talk to them.>

Azuma: "Like start believing in monsters?"

Or have us all commited.

"No one blames you there," Gabe said.

"Rude."

"I guess we go to bed," Sab said, letting out a small yawn, "I'm exhausted anyway."

"I will go and make up the guest room for you," Astarte said, finishing her drink and standing up. "Do you, uh, want one bed or two?"

A"I think we'd be fine with one."

L"What kind of stupid question is that? Like I'm supposed to just ignore my sister's problems?"

S"How much do you want to bed that she can't go one day without using that word?"

"Yeah," Sab said, "One'll be fine."

Noct finished her drink as well, then stood up, "I'll go help you."

"All the money I own, and a few assets to boot," Gabe said.

"What word?"

"I don't think she hasn't said it at least 3 times a day since I met her," Gabe said, "I think she might go insane if she doesn't."

"No seriously, what wor-- Oh, 'rude'. It isn't my fault everyone is rude to me, or someone else," Mortal said.

Astarte smiled and lead Noctis down the hall and to the guest room. She walked over to a cupboard at the side of the room and opened it up to reveal the bedclothes inside, "We'll just make up the bed I guess."

Hector and Eduj, back with Sabroma, simply nursed their drinks. Hector spoke up, "So, when did Noctis and Astarte get together?"

Azuma: "It's likely too late. It seems anyone we come in contact with gets involved."

A"Oh...it was very recent. We were there when she asked her out. I think either yesterday, or earlier today."

S"We have a term for that, Mortal. It's called a 'persecution complex.'"

L"But why is anyone after you in the first place?"

Azuma: "Good question."

"Yeah," Noct said, "That is what I thought. Wasn't expecting to leave a little chocolate on their pillow or something." She took one end of the bedspread and began to fit it to her side of the bed. Noct looked over at Astarte and said, "You know, I'm fine with the couch. I don't want you to feel like you have to let me sleep in your room."

"Yeah, they've known each other for a while now though, so it isn't like it is something random," Sab added, "I actually think they look sweet together."

"I'm just calling a spade a spade," Mortal said, "It isn't my fault the world is full of assholes."
