*In the room, Euryale starts to check her phone while the nondescript male doctor starts injecting her arm with things.*

*There are no doctors or nurses immediately outside of the door. Mortal has the right idea, & eventually finds a blond female doctor with a bob. She looks up from her paperwork.*

A"Would...would it come after us with all of these people around?"

Taiyo winces and looks away as if she's getting the injection.

*Cameron follows after Mortal, checking his phone*

Eduj checked his phone, with his other hand and replied, Be specific.

Mortal points to her neck, "I need help. I was burned."

"I don't know what that thing'll do," Noct said, "Which is exactly why we should go."

Sab shakes her head, "Not yet. We can't leave anyone."

*She looks Mortal up & down, licking her lips.*

<It doesn't look too bad. We should be able to get you some ointment for it.>

*She looks to Cameron.*

A"Did...did it just leave?"

Taiyo shuts her eyes.

Cameron:<Ah, yeah, could I possibly see someone? Tirea Aakin-Neese.>

Mortal smiled, and let out a sigh, "Wonderful. Is there somewhere I should go to wait?"

Sab panicked, "What if it is going after someone more secluded?"

<No need. If you could just fill out this form, then I should be able to get you something.>

*She hands Mortal a form that mainly asks about allergies & other health complications, then turns to Cameron.*

<If you're a relative. Do you know the way to the patient's room?>

*People start giving them dirty looks.*

<Aaaand...there. All done. I hope they find the man who stabbed you.>

"Yeah, me too."

Mortal patter her pockets then asked, "You wouldn't happen to have a pen I could use?"

"Everyone calm down," Gabe said, sitting back down, "Just... it left, and we have no cause for concern. If something happened don't you think we'd know about it?"

Sab sat down because Gabe did.

Cameron:<Ah, no, I don't.>

Taiyo opens one eye, not believing the doctor when they said they're done.

*The doctor hands Mortal a pen.*

<I'll be back shortly.>

*She heads off to lead Cameron & Lilith to the room.*

*Meanwhile, Senthose comes back to the lobby.*

S"Thiera & Roatha are starting to answer direct questions again. We should be able to leave soon. Also, I have some revised theories about what's going on."

*She sees that Euryale's upper arm is bandaged. She gets up & heads over to Taiyo.*

"Sixteen stitches. You know what, I change my mind. If the cops find this guy first, I won't get to beat his face in."

Taiyo's not very reassures.

Taiyo: "Why can't the police deal with it?"

"The shadow is here," Noct said, "Just so you know."

Mortal smiled and thanked the doctor, then went about filling out the form she was given.

Astarte sat down, not because she was calm but because her knees couldn't hold her any more.

Eduj got treated some more, totally waiting for a reply from Eve.

"Well, Noctis just confirmed one. The reason why you are transported to strange locations is because you are following the same paths used by the Shadow itself."

"Assuming they even will do anything about it, I want that jerk to really pay for what he's done. Who knows what he was going to do with you?"

Tirea:<Cameron, Lilith?!>

*Cameron approaches and take her hand*

*Cameron looks to Lilith slowly*

"So, how do we stop following it?" Gabe asked.

Since I'm pretty sure Noct was holding Astarte's hand, she is dragged back into a sitting position by her, "We came to the hospital on our own, so if it is here it followed us here. Even if we do stop following it, that doesn't mean it'll leave us alone."

Mortal finished filling out the form, then leaned against the wall, waiting for the doctor to return.

S"Something like that. Also, I think that the ringleader has yet to show himself."

A"Ringleader?"

S"When you were attacked, I assumed that the primary motivation was that you are gay."

*Aroma can't help but look around a little self-consciously, when he draws such frank attention to the fact. Senthose ignores this & carries on, as douchebags tend to do.*

S"But I had not taken into account certain...extenuating circumstances. So I now believe that was just a convenient excuse. No, that word is not accurate. Rather, if you want a sink fixed, then you call a plumber."

A"I'm...afraid I don't understand."

S"If you were black you would have been visited by white supremacists. If rich, thieves. There are any number of violent thugs to choose from. The man who encouraged your attackers does not hate you for your orientation. Or if he does, it is a secondary motivation."

Eduj glanced around the room and took a long look at the doctor, waiting for him to be done.

Astarte looked confused but said nothing.
