*Sure enough, a spherical energy shield surrounds her before she can be speared to death. Around the room, various portals open, out of which emerge low level D-Reaper agents.*

*DexDorugamon could use its wings to absorb the blast, but it's clearly not fast enough to survive this battle, so let's say it just dissolves. Dropbermon does a few loping hops back into the bushes.*

*The room is fine. Vanessa opts to run from the room, to where Tactimon is. Taiyo would very obviously be killed or at least badly burned by the heat of his blast, but fortunately for her, a Mermaimon comes down with Viximon, who is beginning to stir, & her stuff & dives on her to protect her. The Mermaimon survives, but is badly damaged. As a wall in the back explodes, Tsune points out the obvious.*

Ts"There's not enough room to fight in this castle!"

*Grasping the anchor with both hands, she slashes down, sending an energy wave at him. Ancient Mermaimon & Neptunemon also repeat their attacks from before, but Tactimon draw-slashes the wall beside him, & the tunnel begins to collapse.*

BanchoLeomon<Tsune is right, we can't stay here!>

Neptunemon<That's what you want, isn't it? For us to abandon OUR castle to be destroyed?>

BanchoLeomon<We'll find a way to draw them out, but we can't fight them from under a pile of rubble!>

*So Bancho Leomon picks up Taiyo & Viximon & Regulumon snatches up Tsune & Gomamon & they start running. Ancient Mermaimon & Mermaimon follow, followed reluctantly by Neptunemon. When Bastemon emerges, she leaps aside from a falling rock & runs after them. Up ahead, Mermaimon is reunited with her fallen crew in the worst possible way as a hoard of D-Reaper Hybrids shuffle in. Spotting them, they start throwing anchors.*

Netzach<Hey, I'm almost at the castle! Haven't found Yesod yet, though!>

Dropbearmon<So you bogans defeated a big, dumb beast. So what? Bagramon can do a lot worse than that, & he's not even the biggest badass in the bush.>

*There really is no shortage. Infermon is walking on the water, firing at the Mantaraymon & Dolphinmon. Any that it hits or tears into with its claws is combined with D-Reaper data & reborn as a monster with a D-Reaper spying agent growing out of its back. The Whamon have already been converted & are swimming in circles to create a huge Tsunami. Other converted Digimon, including Pugumon, Mermaimon, Ebidramon, Orcamon, & Shelldramon are climbing the palace as Cannonbeemon circle above, blasting it with Airdramon & Birdramon flying around it for back-up, & a group of Seadramon have swam up the river & are destroying the pier & ships by ramming or tail whipping them.*

*Mermaimon recoils each time one of her former comrades is destroyed. After a few are destroyed, they have the good sense to hide behind the walls & continue chucking anchors. Regulumon stands in front of them to block with his sword as BanchoLeomon fires fist blasts at them, each having put down their human & Digimon cargo.*

Ts"Shouldn't we go help Ornismon?"

Neptunemon<Of course not! We need to make our way deeper into the castle & rally the troops!>

BanchoLeomon<Our only option is to split up! We'll take care of the Mermaimon here! Bastemon, once we make an opening, take Taiyo some place safe! And be careful of the D-Reaper data filling the halls!>

*Bastemon salutes & scoops up Taiyo.*

Ts"I guess we'll go out & fight, then."

*Impmon stumbles back before she can roll on top of him, then starts shaking his fists.*

Impmon<Hey! Wouldja pipe down & let me finish my job?!>

*He manages to destroy a CannonBeemon which falls towards the ocean. The others fire missiles. The Airdramon & Birdramon lend their attacks as well. Infermon also retracts its limbs, dropping into the water & shooting at Ornismon like a torpedo while firing blasts at him.*

*Regulumon & BanchoLeomon run up to the Mermaimon to start slashing the shit out of them. The others run past.*

Ancient Mermaimon<I'm sure you don't want to hear it, but right now, the safest place in the castle is probably the dungeons.>

Because DemiDevimon is all talk, Monodramon lunges for Phascomon, set on ripping its head off.

*Even if I'm generous & say that he can somehow just fly over all of those attacks, Infermon opts to just plow into the castle. That wave that the Whamon generated is also sent to plow into the castle. The missiles adjust to keep seeking Ornismon & the airborn Digimon adjust their aim & keep shooting at Ornismon.*

We have also been told that DemiDevimon you travel with has attacked its so-called partner on several occasions. Who says it is not acting as a spy? Can you honestly say that you recall having no trouble with it?>

Jupitermon<You see? It is very cut & dry. It is the Dark Digimon attacking you. It is the Dark Digimon attempting to push into the former realm of the Celestials, the last bastion before the core of the Digital World. It is the Dark Digimon who have always warred with the forces of good. I've heard that your human stories even tell of Dark Digimon who seek to conquer the world, torturing & destroying innocent Digimon & human children. The events may be fictitious, but what they say about the hearts of the demons is true. They have always cast their greedy claws upon the villages of the weak, & shook their fists at the Gods & their Angels. Make no mistake, your Kurata has done them a favor. Once we purge him from this world, the Dark Digimon will surely move to conquer the domain of the Sovereign & destroy us all.>

*Mermaimon grabs Bastemon & they press Taiyo in between them to protect her from the lightning, darkness, ice, water, & torpedos.*

*Viximon does indeed digivolve to Renamon, but by her 5% reduction in both grace AND fur, it's unlikely that she will be able to Digivolve much farther. Taiyo herself isn't in an empowering mental state, either. Their lack of synchronization may actually be helping them, because they're both in a fair amount of pain, Renamon from no longer being paralyzed--& therefore anesthetized against the hypodermic probing that was done to her earlier.*

*Shockingly, his mouth laser is not fast enough to deal with all of these projectiles. Also, the wave slams into the palace, causing parts that were cracked in the attack to start collapsing while D-Reapermon swarm into it. D-Reapermon also swarm into the piers, assisting the D-Seadramon with destroying them. Things go from bad to worse as unidentifiable enemies begin descending from the data collecting orb in the sky.*

*Ornismon roars in fury and soars down to the DReapermon and tries to roast those entering the castle, trying to stem their flow*

Taiyo fumbles to try and heal Renamon.

*Healing Renamon is a rather slow process. Thank shit Plesiomon arrives on the scene & Digivolves to Burst Mode, or they'd surely all be dead by now. Plesiomon looms over them, protecting them, but the evil Digimon aren't so lucky, being bashed by a torrent of wind & water. They start dissolving left & right, but Tactimon weathers the storm (trololol) by using his own storm powers. He tries to stab at Plesiomon, but Plesiomon blows him away with a blast of water from her mouth. Fortunately, the D-Reaper data is counteracted by the swirling waters.*

Plesiomon<Can we get out from here?!>

Mermaimon<If we could get past him, we could go into the abyss, I suppose. We haven't had any prisoners dangerous enough to put down there since we were forced to relocate.>

*Of course, some of the D-Reapermon are strong enough that they're still going. The Devimon & IceDevimon attack MagnaAngemon, while the Calamarimon literally drills into Plesiomon's flank & lashes at her flippers, wings, & neck with sharp tentacles. Plesiomon lets out a pained screech.*

Dropbearmon<You can squish me, but I won't care. Bet it'll make you feel tough, won't it, ya big, dumb bogan?>

T"Have you--have you literally been arguing with that koala this entire time?"

D<Not quite, they also got attacked. But I agree, fighting with the angry midget is pointless. I still want to lop fireballs at him, though.>

T"DemiDevimon, what have I taught you about turning the other cheek?"

D<That it gets us paralyzed by a short, hairy beast with the personality of a cheese grater.>

*I guess he's somewhat successful, but he's also blowing chunks off of the castle. Also, most of the missiles are still following him, including ones the Cannonbeemon just fired, & he doesn't have much farther to go aside from just plunging into the ocean. The Whamon start to generate another tsunami, but a few break ranks to charge at Ornismon. They also have Mantraymon sticking to them, which shoot lightning at him.  To top it all off, from somewhere within the rubble, Infermon is firing marksman-caliber blasts at Ornismon's head & wings, & at this point Parasite Head Agents & Gizumon are approaching to act as reinforcements.*

Azuma goes to aid Taiyo in the process while MagnaAngemon swings at the Devimon lineage.

Taiyo: "Is Euryale here too?"

Azuma: "No. We'll take you to her once we can get out of here."

*Since even Ornismon knows when to quit he uses attacks with Tempest before heading back into the castle, regressing to Karatenmon to manuvere if need be*

*The Devimons block with their claws, the lazy attack not being enough to kill them. Plesiomon's screech turns into a soundwave that blows Tactimon back further. Bastemon sets Taiyo down & she starts clawing at Calamarimon while Mermaimon hacks at it with her anchor. The Calamarimon, of course, spits a rain of acidic ink over all of them.*

Dropbearmon<Crikey! Bogaaaaans!>

*Wizardmon charges a fireball, but Thiera grabs her arm & glares at her disapprovingly, so she sighs & waves off the spell in a flurry of smoke.*

Impmon<I can't drive the Behemoth like this, & it'll possess anyone else that tries.>

D<Guess we'll be on foot, then. 'Cept me, I'll be on your head.>

*Wizardmon puts her hands on Thiera's shoulders & lifts a leg as if to climb up on her. Thiera covers her head.*

T"No! Everything's always getting tangled in my hair, I don't like it!"

*Impmon stamps his feet.*
