Waiting to Die

*Tirea remains behind the professor and Senthose,not wanting to draw attention to herself*

*Eve stares back at Roatha, face neutral*

Eve:<Interesting...>

*She lowers her voice so only Thiera can hear her*

<(Makes Astarte's story of Ira getting distracted sound a bit more unlikely, does it not?>

Azuma: "Probably making a big scene."

Saleswoman<Something like that, but you didn't hear it from me. They're right back there.>

*She points to the aisle.*

*She turns around & continues on her way.*

*Roatha looks rather indifferent & starts wandering off until Lilith grabs his hood.*

L"Hey. You stay here."

*Thiera stares at the floor.*

Th"(...I don't know, how should I know about anything...?)"

"I'm happy if you're not," Astarte chose to add when they reached the entrance.

*Eve shrugs, then moves other to continue looking at the phones they were looking at before*

*Vanessa glares hard at her before following Senthose & Schreiber to the aisle.*

L"And don't sit on the fucking floor!"

*Roatha remains standing. Lilith looks past him, at the new arrivals.*

L"...What the Hell are you guys doing here?"

S"I could say the same, how come no one advertises when this jackass strolls back into our lives?"

*He points at Roatha.*

Azuma punches said jackass in the nose, ready to follow through with what he said earlier.

Astarte followed and froze when she saw Roatha being assaulted.

*Tirea freezes upon seeing Roatha. Eve looks up from the phone case at Senthose*

<It's my fault, I should have let you know.>

*She switches her gaze to Azuma*

<Wait, Azuma, we can explain.>

*As Roatha makes no effort to defend himself, he's hit so hard that the back of his head smashes against Lilith's face. Now both of them are sporting bloody noses. Roatha just kind of hangs there limply while Lilith rubs hers, fuming.*

"Will you knock it off?! Aside from catching me in the crossfire, I'd prefer it if you didn't give Ira a fucking reason to come back! And you, fucking stand up, my arm's falling asleep!"

*She gives Roatha a shake.*

Saleswoman<Is everything okay back there?>

S"Yeah, sorry, we'll try to keep the noise down!"

Saleswoman<Please do, there are kids in here.>

Taiyo: "Stop it!"

Azuma takes another swing at Roatha's face, Taiyo pulls Lilith back.

Azuma: "He has to die!"

Astarte rushed forward and hooked her arms under both of Azuma's, pulling him back by the shoulders, "Stop it, or the other things will come! Stop!"

L"Thank you."

*Senthose punches Azuma in the throat & knees him in the stomach while he's unable to defend himself.*

S"Sit there, stop making noise, & stay out of trouble."

*Dr. Schreiber crosses her arms.*

Dr. Schreiber<Even if you did succeed in beating Roatha to death, it wouldn't make any difference. The Shadow would revive him, plus he has at least 2 living relatives.>

Azuma: "You're going to let us all die."

Astarte let go of Azuma after his beating and put herself between him and everybody else there, "Believe me, if you attack him people will die, but not him. Are you okay?"

Eve:<We need to get out of here before they call the police. I'm going to go purchase the phones.>

*Eve goes off to find the saleswoman*

<Can I have two [insert brand here] disposable cell phones with [$50 in Euros] of credit on each please?>

<Any plans or accessories with them?>

S"She has the right idea, we should just grab what we need & get out of here."

*He turns to Roatha & Lilith.*

S"You 2 should also get cleaned up, to avoid arousing suspicion."

*Lilith nods & steers Roatha towards the restrooms. Next, Senthose turns to Schreiber.*

S"As for you, I find it hard to believe that you've been at this for so long, yet you have no additional records. What are you not telling us?"

Schreiber<What, do you think it was easy to find out about Ira, or the Shadow's weakness?>

S"If you could avoid the conspiracy for this long, you must have some idea whom Ira's immediate underlings are."

*Thiera takes a quick pace forwards, squeezing her hands together. Senthose looks at her.*

Th"And--and what about you?! Why should we trust you, we don't even know where you ARE half of the time, how do we know that you haven't made a deal with them?!"

Azuma: "What do you think? While he still lives, we're all in immediate danger and what are you doing? Going shopping with him."

"And punching him will do literally nothing," Astarte turned to the others, pointing at Senthose and Schreiber. "We shouldn't trust either of them. This one's a psycho, and Schreiber is a liar. Like you said, we don't even know where either of them are half the time. Vanessa too, she's basically Schreiber's goon."

Eve:<A heavy duty case for both, if you have them. That will be all.>

*Eve gets out her wallet*

*Tirea moves after Lilith and Roatha, partly not wanting to leave Lilith alone and partly because she doesn't want to hear the fighting*

Saleswoman<If you'll come with me to the front desk....>

*She heads over there. Behind the counter, she grabs the items that Eve wanted, scans them, & puts them on the counter. She then holds out her hand for the card while typing on the computer.*

Saleswoman<That will get you unlimited talk & text for the month. All together, your total comes out to 140 Euros. May I see your card, please?>

*Lilith kind of pushes Roatha towards the men's bathroom. He enters. Or he may have fallen in. It's hard to say. Lilith herself, of course, goes to the women's room. Reaching for the door handle, she hesitates. She suddenly thrusts it open & looks around, not noticing that she's cracked some heavyset employee with brunette hair & glasses in the face.*

<Ow!>

"Oh, sorry."

*Grumbling, the employee heads to the sink to clean her new bloody nose.*

*She flips Astarte off.*

"I am--"

*He shakes his head, turning back to Schreiber.*

"Whatever, it doesn't matter to me if they don't trust me. What about you?"

Schreiber<I have no idea where you get the idea that I've been lying to you. What do you think I was calling you all together to discuss? But do you even know who might be listening in this store? Do you really want the police to get more evidence to claim that you are mentally unwell?>

S"The boat may have sailed on that one, thanks to this idiot."

*He points at Azuma.*

Schreiber<However, we do not have to drown WITH him.>

Astarte didn't even look at Vanessa when she spoke, refusing to extend the courtesy of acknowledging that she existed, and turned to Thiera to speak in a softer and less bitter voice, "Think about it. Do you really think she is being straight with us? Isn't there something off about her whole role in this to you?"

*Eve follows her over to the front desk, then hands her a debit card*

*Tirea heads in and hides in a stall*

Th"Like--like what? What does she have to gain by double-crossing us?"

S"Even I have to admit that this is a very poor place to discuss this."

*Unaware of why Tirea is hiding, Lilith turns on the water & quickly splashes away the blood before turning it off. The employee continues grumbling the entire time.*

L"Come on, we're going."

Astarte kept making imploring eye contact with Thiera for a few more moments, then turned back to Senthose, "Fine. Where should we go?"
