Waiting to Die

*Eve and Tirea quietly exit the building, heading away from the cop car and the front entrance. They remain alert*

Astarte chose to skirt around and watch the building from a distance. She may or may not spot Tirea and Eve.

*They have no idea where the cop car is, or whether or not it's marked, but okay. Upon leaving, they pass about 20 feet away from a black van & are presented with a copse of trees between them & the next road, unless they want to keep going around behind the building to see what's there.*

*Assuming she is continuing to travel in the general direction of Grimm's house, then thanks to the street lights, Astarte can make out 2 figures fleeing the scene that are probably Tirea & Eve. Probably.*

*Tirea and Eve make for the road through the trees*

Astarte starts closing the distance with the two figures, trying to be quiet and make out features that would tell her who the shit they are.

*They beeline into the goddamn trees, so if she wants to catch up to them, she might have to throw caution to the wind.*

*The copse seems a lot larger on the inside than it does on the outside, lights from cars & street lamps difficult to make out through the leaves.*

*Assuming they can't hear Astarte, they continue through the trees in the direction of the lights*

Considering the options of solitude and police officers behind her, Astarte did throw caution to the wind and ran after the two.

*So now Tirea's foot catches on something & she falls to the ground as they hear someone or something crashing towards them in the leaves behind them.*

*Tirea throws out her arms to catch herself, and Eve stops momentarily to help her up. They both then continue running towards the lights, occasionally looks behind them to see if what's coming towards them is friend or foe*

"Hello?" Astarte forced out a hushed call.

*They can hear Astarte's voice, if that helps them. Not to say it can't be mimicked. Assuming they weave around the trees, they still have the problem that their feet snag on things occasionally, but they seem to be within 10 feet of the street, if they go through some thick bushes. Maybe a little longer if they follow the path. Also, behind the thing that may or may not be Astarte, something crawls down from a tree. Something big & white.*

Astarte glanced back over her shoulder and accelerated to full speed, calling out "Help!"

*Not wanting to risk it, Eve and Tirea charge ahead at full speed, taking the trail as to not have to fight through thick bushes*

*There is silence for a while, then a creek & a whoosh. The trees thin, revealing a street full of apartment buildings on the other side.*

Astarte kept on following the figures, "Who's there?"

*Tirea and Eve head over to the nearest streetlight*

Tirea:<...Astarte?>

*Shocker, it's them. Also, the beast tackles Astarte.*

Astarte struggled to slide out of the tarp she was wrapped in and continue flight.

*Tirea and Eve look around for anything that could be used as a weapon, such as a big stick or rock. Tirea runs closer to the white monster and yells*

Tirea:<Hey asshole, over here!>

*There are plenty of small branches & rocks lying bout, even a couple rocks almost as big as their heads. The White Monster ignores them, doing its best to shred the tarp that its claws got stuck in. It listens for Astarte's footsteps & then runs after her.*

Astarte sprinted ahead, looking out for an open door she could access a building by.

*Tirea and Eve run after the white monster and Astarte, both grabbing the biggest and pointy sticks they can find*

*Astarte runs out onto the goddamn road, where headlights wash over her. She hears a horn, followed by the sound of a bumper impact & shattering glass. Eve & Tirea see a car strike the White Monster dead on, at which it rolls over the roof, & lies crumpled in the street. The tires screech as the car slows down briefly, before accelerating & taking a sharp turn.*

Astarte turned to look, still taking steps backwards as she viewed it.
