Old Ones Return (VII)

Azuma: "Right."

Hideki mutters something under his breath about deserving nothing less than death, the ordeal shaking his views towards violence.

Cameron:<Thiera, I'll tell your parents where you went. So they aren't worried and stuff...>

*Exhausted, they spend most of the trip to the airport, as well as waiting in the airport, either in a haze or asleep, their soldier escort presumably shooing any passers by away from the Digimon. The airport is in the next town, so it hasn't been evacuated, but it's a small town so there aren't really that many people there. At some point during all of this, a heavily bandaged Thiera rejoins the group, making Cameron's statement moot. After a few hours, they are more alert. Not long afterwards, they can spot their respective families in the sparse crowds, looking around for them.*

*Mr. Sorenson points at the Tamers and Digimon*

Mr. Sorenson:<I see them! Over here!>

*Kylie and Cameron get up and charge their parents, almost knocking them over. Kylie hugs her dad tightly, while Cameron buries his face in his mother's shoulder. Lunamon and Biyomon hesitate for a moment, then also join the family reunion. Meanwhile, the Kornels come up as well, embracing Lyra, Kotemon hugging Mrs. Kornel's leg*

Mrs. Sorenson:<I can't believe it's over! You did so well.>

Taiyo, possibly with Euryale and certainly with Renamon runs off to see her parents, Renamon not expecting to be dragged across the tarmac.

The others have a bit more tact or in Hideki's case, crippling low self-esteem, so they don't go running making a spectacle of themselves.

*Euryale is apparently also dragged across the tarmac. Tsune stands up, but looks back at Thiera, who is making no effort to move or even look up as their parents jog towards them.*

Mr. R<You did really well. Am I going to get to tell everyone, or is this some kind of undercover thing?>

*Euryale shrugs & awkwardly hugs her mother with her free arm as Agumon comes waddling up.*

A<I'm not really sure how anyone could cover all of that up.>

*He is surprised when Mrs. Rakshashi sweeps him up as well, wincing at how hard she squeezes. Meanwhile, Binah tries to hug Thiera, who scoots away. They will be unintelligible to anyone who cannot speak English.*

Th"I...don't think my wounds should be compressed."

*Tsune is reluctantly led away from them to recount tales of what happened after the signal was cut, but she mostly shrugs & gives vague answers like "we went to a fort & fought a giant monster."*

Loren hugs Taiyo and to her surprise, Renamon.

Azuma is welcomed back by Kentaro and Kari who are meeting Hitomi's parents who are only present because they had been kidnapped and then rescued otherwise they'd be living an exaggerated idea of how Japanesefolk work.

Meanwhile Monodramon is the only one enthused about meeting Hideki's parents.

*Mr. Sorenson gives Lunamon a big hug, the later giggling uncontrollably. Kylie and Cameron then switch the parents they are greeting. After Lunamon wiggles out of Mr. Sorenson's arms, Biyomon goes to shake his hand. Meanwhile, Mrs. Kornel pats Kotemon on the head, shaking slightly*

*Mr. Psyche puts a hand on his wife's shoulder, though they don't take their eyes off of Thiera.*

Mr. P<Give her time. Right now, let's just get her back home.>

Mr. R<I don't know what he just said, but I recognize the word "home," & that's a great idea. We've already booked a return flight, it should be here soon.>

*Euryale nods & turns to Taiyo.*

E"I'll see you again soon."

*If allowed, she moves in & presses her lips against hers. Agumon waves to Renamon.*

A<Later.>

*Tsune's family heads to the line to get on the plane. Thiera hesitantly stands up & the Psyche family follows, Thiera still rejecting physical contact. Presumably everyone says their goodbyes & files over there.*
