Fear, Itself

Tirea:<Eve does, no idea if it still works though. We also should be able to find some beer bottles or something. I don't think town's worth the risk right now.>

Astarte shrugged, "I don't really know where we would find a bunch of intact glass bottles, without just buying a whole bunch of beers. Where should we try to get him if not by road?"

*Lilith heads back to the campsite to dig out the phone Vanessa stole from the police, & heads back, turning it on & shining it into the woods. Through the trees she can make out the incline, & a bunch of rocks embedded in the soil.*

Tirea:<Why not lure him into the forest? More difficult terrain, more places to hide...>

"More places for him and whatever might be with him to hide, too," Astarte shrugged.

L"Nowhere will be a good place to ambush him. He knows the mountains better than we do and can go wherever he wants. We just have to pick a spot & do our best to take him down."

*Tirea shrugs*

Tirea:<Then why not just do it at our camp?>

L"We'll move camp farther up & leave the trail behind for him to follow. Better make any preparations you want now."

*During the course of the day, Lilith digs around the rocks on the side of the road to loosen them &, having used the empty can, dumped a bunch of water from the river down the trail they used to get to their new campsite to make it slick with slush. In the slush she hides a vine attached to a branch she hacked at with her machete. The new campsite is much the same, though a few miles further up the road, to the point where the town is much smaller on the horizon. After preparations are finished, they meet up for food while watching the sun dip towards the summit.*

L"We'll have to hope what we have is good enough. Best to make our move neither in broad daylight nor the dead of night."

*She fishes her phone out of her pocket & sets it in her lap.*

L"Now, before I call him, we should get 1 more thing clear: Ira's going to have backup nearby. Someone's going to have to take the gun Vanessa stole from the cops & deal with that while we take care of him."

*Tirea and Eve help Lilith with her preparations*

Tirea:<It should probably be me or Vanessa. You're probably the better shot.>

*She says this last statement to Vanessa*
