Usually, it's for forum-related problems, including, but not limited to, coding issues, discussion of pending and existing rules, discussion of users and groups (typically on the matter of restrictions on particular abilities/equipment/et cetera and any that resemble them, matters of such legislations as topic locks, temporary bans, edits, and deletions, ranks and other status measurements, and permanent bans), placement of areas and their descriptions, the pending status of present areas and those to be added, and particularly site-incised suggestions. Of course, a lot of people use them for informal communication, too, but that's a given.

Most forums have it so that a) mods and admins who don't have/can't get MSN can participate, b) it can be organized and archived simply and clearly, and c) it's public info, as any good gov't works on a satisfactory information system.

a) We have no mods or admins who can't use MSN.
b) It goes without saying that whenever we make an important decision we will either tell everyone via chatbox/MSN or make a topic about it.

Therefore, as I said, this is pretty useless, here.
