Casting Call

~About~

Paradigm City is a city of domes & amnesia. 40 years ago, everyone in the city somehow lost their memory, whether they are the rich in the domes or the poor outside of them. People still have memories from exactly 40 years ago to the present, but nothing beyond that, regardless of how old they are. Because of this, some people don't even know for sure if they're family or why they're working together. But Paradigm City isn't only characterized by amnesia. In the ocean, though people can't go there, and underground, though they refuse, there are ruins of an old city. And in these ruins lie monsters that some say protect memories from over 40 years ago....

This is based off of the anime series "Big O," although the plot will be more-or-less original. The reason that there isn't any particular "story" section is because I plan to base it around the characters that I get. Multiple characters are allowed. The first portion of the RP will revolve around the introduction of the characters & how they come to obtain their Megadeus.

~Exposition~
25 years ago, the word “Megadeus” entered into the Paradigm vocabulary for the first time. After a young girl had entered the underground, a large robot emerged & began to move towards the domes. When the military was employed, the machine began attacking indiscriminately. Though they eventually destroyed the machine, they noted that most of its casing was absent, & if it had the metal casing of the Megadeus that are occasionally uncovered, they would not be able to.

Closer to the present, the Paradigm Head Office begins taking an interest in Zell’s art. They tell her that they believe her art to contain memories, and offer her a job with them, including an annual salary of a million dollars. They give her a month to consider that offer. In that month, almost in response, 3 painters, 2 journalists, & a photographer have been murdered by a serial killer. As all of the murders have taken place outside the domes, there isn’t very high priority on the case. In fact, Luna & her father are the only ones on the case. So far, their only lead is that all of the murders happen close to entrances of the abandoned subway tunnels.

On this day, the Paradigm negotiator is coming to receive Zell’s answer. Additionally, Luna & her father receive a message in the mail: “Lucky 7 today. Come & stop me.”


~Character~
Overview: The character is the--well, the character--that you will be controlling. Their role mostly reflects what they do in life. A thief needs to be able to steal, a cop must be able to catch criminals, etc. In general, everyone will probably be roped into an investigative/adventuring role which might require that they have some ability to fight without a Megadeus.

Name: First & last.
Appearance: What the character looks like.
Species: Human or android. Androids tend to be a lot stronger & more agile, but they don't look as human, & suffer from some deficiencies typical of machines. Only 1 character you make can be an android.
Occupation: What the character's job is. The "Parent Company" of every corporate occupation is the Paradigm Head Office.
Bio: A short history of the character. Obviously, don't put anything down past 40 years.
Equipment: Anything the character carries for profession or defense. If an android, putting the capabilities & incapabilities here is important. For example, does your Android have sensors to feel pain, does it have any kind of skin, can it see in infrared, etc.
Other: Anything else of note.

~Megadeus~
Overview: Unlike the character, the Megadeus does not have a personality (although there is some evidence that they have their own minds), they are more like weapons that are occasionally called upon. Essentially, they are building-sized robots, often humanoid, which were made at some point beyond 40 years ago. It is inadvisable to have them walk around in public, or advertise the fact that you're a dominus (pilot) of one.

Name: The name of the Megadeus, which as you might sermise, is nothing like a human name, & usually refers to their function. For example, a very large Megadeus exists called "Behemoth," & the Big series are named Big O (1), Big Duo (2), & Big Fau (3). It should be obvious, but neither of these examples are playable.
Cockpit: Where the controls of the Megadeus are & what they're protected by. Many Megadeus can be controlled remotely, as well.
Appearance: Most Megadeus are generally made in the fashion of large, bulky humanoids. Their precise appearance differs slightly depending on what they were built for. This is also where to put the dimensions (height & width) of the machine.
Weapons: As stated before, Megadeus generally aren't very agile. But what they lack in speed, they make up in power. Megadeus' weapons tend to be built-in and very powerful, such as pistons that enhance punches or lasers that fire from shoulder pauldrons. Megadeus that aren't built for land use are very rare.
Other: Anything else of note about the machine.

~Neo's Characters~

Name: Thiera Psyche.
Appearance: A tall woman with wavy blond hair & blue eyes, who looks to be in her 20's or 30's. Wears a white suit. Also has a white travelling cloak of sorts. In fact, it's a rule that everyone who stays in her household must wear white.
Species: Human.
Occupation: Retired.
Bio: As everyone's memories were erased 40 years ago, Thiera basically founded the practice of archaeology. Memories of the past go for large amounts of money, so she was able to amass a small fortune & move inside the Domes. When the Paradigm Head Office offered her a job application, she announced her retirement, although she continues her investigations in secret.
Equipment: (1) Her cuff links are small drills which burrow into the ground & emit a pulse, a form of sonar. (2) A TV screen built into her briefcase shows a depiction of the object(s) in the ground. (3) Since cell phones don't work under ground, she has a wire that she can connect to the phone lines to make hers a land line. (4) She also possesses a watch with a built-in compass that points her in strange directions whenever she enters the city's underground levels. (5) Penultimately, she has a diamond-studded spade, which can be used for defense, but is primarily for digging. (6 & 7) Of course, she also carries a flash light & a pistol.

Name: Lilith R. Psyche
Appearance: A pale woman who looks approximately 22 years old. Most of her long, red hair is drawn into a single braid behind her head, the exception being her bangs. She has green eyes. Wears white jeans & t-shirt. When she goes out, she usually conceals this with a black travelling cloak.
Species: Android.
Occupation: Maid.
Bio: Thiera found Lilith in a coffin-like structure deep underneath the city. Though frightened, she decided to activate the android, who was initially unresponsive. Although this was early in her carreer, Thiera decided not to sell the android, who is probably worth more than her entire fortune. Instead, she brought her into her house & began introducing her as a relative, explaining her peculiar behavior as "sickness." 5 years later, she finally responded, expressing an interest in doing house work for Thiera. It was another 5 years until she strung together any more sentences, but now her interactions were becoming much more normal, almost as though she was reacting to something. Today, she's more sociable than Thiera herself.
Equipment: Unlike most Androids, Lilith not only has synthetic skin, but a system that makes it feel warm. She's still easily spotted as an android if one speaks to her, though. She talks in a monotone & has only 1 facial expression for each basic emotional response (angry, sad, happy, etc.). She doesn't feel pain, only vague "pressure" or "temperature." Does need to eat, as she's powered by food, & requires at least occasional access to oxygen. Possesses enhanced speed, precision, & night vision.

~Neo's Megadeus~

Name: Basilisk.
Cockpit: The Megadeus cannot be controlled from the machine itself, though it is believed that the controls are housed in the head casing that makes up its "eyes," which are a layer of diamond showing electronic circuits beneath.
Appearance: A departure from the norm, it is snakelike, made of 50 foot-long rotating segments, the width of a small car, not including the head or tail ending. The segments have "barbs," triangular protusions going around its carapace. The Megadeus is mostly white, its barbs golden. It has a drill-like head, which is white with a blue "visor" for its "eyes." The end of its tail is shaped like an elongated diamond. All told, it falls just shy of 60 feet long.
Weapons: The direction & speed at which the individual segments rotate determine the Megadeus's movements. As a result, it's significantly more agile than the average Megadeus, though at the cost of armor. Its whole body is basically a giant drill, the head & barbs being made of thick carbon steel. The "stinger" of its tail can cut, as well as emit or receive electric impulses. Finally, its drill head can open, revealing a cannon that fires a very short-ranged (about 5 feet) but very powerful plasma beam, capable of burning through even the thickest, most resilliant alloys.
Other: Anything else of note about the machine.

Name: Rosengeist.
Cockpit: The chest cavity contains a structure like a biological heart, made of wires. It's protected by the torso's thick armor, as well as a series of rib-like shock absorbers inside the machine. As such, images are transmitted to a large screen on the wall from cameras positioned in the robot's eyes & the back of its neck.
Appearance: A more typical Megadeus, it is about 50 feet tall & 15 feet wide with boxy hips, shoulders, & feet. The Megadeus is black, with thick red armor over its wrists, legs, chest, & shoulders. It also has a helmet. All-in-all, it has the appearance of an armored samurai warrior.
Weapons: The fists can be fired out via pressurized air, although they remain connected to the arms by flexible wires that can equal the robot's height, the hands maintaining full function even at maximum distance. Electrical impulses can also be channeled through this weapon. Out of the armored wrists, the robot can produce katar-like weapons. Out of the left is basically a giant chainsaw, out of the right a jackhammer-like weapon that produces liquefaction in whatever it strikes, allowing it to cause earth quakes or damage solid structures molecularly. There are 6 giant machine guns in its torso & it can fire up to 6 missiles out of 3 launchers under the armor of its back, the missiles being capable of blowing the top off of a dome. Finally, it can fire lasers out of its eyes, which produce large explosions upon impact.

Name: Hitomi Alla
Appearance: Average height and appears to be in her late teens-early twneties with short, cropped, blond hair, green eyes, and plastic light blue oval rimmed glasses. Wears a white, collard button-up shirt underneath a dark blue sweatervest, pleated dark blue skirt, black knee high socks giving her a Zettai Ryouiki, white plimsolls.
Species: Human
Occupation: Librarian
Bio: An introverted, asocial girl who lives alone working at a library after the job was practically given to her since she spends most of her time there anyways. Aside from cataloging, shelfing, and the occasional signing out of books not much has changed in her day to day life.
Equipment: Glasses can zoom in up to four times to see a greater distance.
Other: Favorite color is blue.

Name: Vega Ballentyne
Appearance: Stands about six feet tall, appears to be in his late twenties. Has scraggly black hair, icy blue eyes. Wears a white collard shirt overtop a white t-shirt, black leather gloves when working, black pants, and regular beige shoes.
Species: Human
Occupation: Laborer
Bio: A regular joe who does odd jobs performing manual labor for those who will pay. Lives alone in a dingy apartmen just going about his day one at a time without many worries.
Equipment: The tips of his gloves fingers become magnetic at the push of a button on the wrist. His shoes can generate some heat in the soles that can be controlled by clicking his heels together.
Other: Nothing.

~Megadeus~

Name: Kanrei Tsuki
Cockpit: A tube that ejects from the back so the pilot can enter and then enters the body. Like an Entry Plug. Images are sent from the single eye on the head to the moniters in the cockpit in the chest area. If necessary the tube can be forcefully ejected or the Megadeus can be manually self-destructed.
Appearance: Standing at thirty-five feet tall and twelve feet wide, it's body resembles a humans more than a giant robot. Its appearance is blue with white around the sides of the legs, elbows, and knuckles. Its head is shaped like a motorcycle helmet with a rectangular facial area with a single white eye in the center.
Weapons: To make it more agile, its armor is quite light and incapable of defending against anything more than weak melee attacks and traditional military weapons such as tanks. To compensate for its lack in armor it can generate a barrier to protect its front and back to protect against melee and close to medium ranged attacks, but the barrier only lasts for fifteen seconds until it has to recharge which is a twenty minute process. While not designed for close range combat it has a pair of diamond edged bowie knives concealed in the hip area. Ports in the rib area open up where six (three on each side) 30 x 165 mm machine guns are concealed. Being ill-equipped for close range combat its usual weapon is a white and blue rifle that resembles an Arctic Warfare Magnum.
Other: For some reason the cockpit interior always has a faint smell of oil to it.

Name: Gelu Chalybs
Cockpit: The back opens up where the pilot climbs into. As well as chest and back armor plating the door automatically bolts shut once the Megadues is in motion to protect the pilot.
Appearance: Stands at forty-five feet tall and eighteen feet wide, it's body is fairly wide in proportion to its height. The chest area protrudes where the armor in front of the cockpit is thicker. Its colors are grey with black trimming around the head where there appears to be a mouth and around its white eyes. Three black stripes run down its arms, and legs. At the base of the feet are three ports. Two long ports on the side of the feet where treads can be deploys and a square port on the back of each feet where four rockets deploy to give the Megadeus an increase in mobility, but the rockets run out of fuel after six minutes.
Weapons: 155mm cannon on the right shoulder that can be raised or lowered for targeting and raised so its pointing straight resembling an antenna when not in use. From ports on top of the forearms 105mm machine guns are concealed. For close range attacks, the mouth opens and fires several large spikes that explode on contact. Non-mounted weapon resembles an FN CAL.
Other: Nothing.

It doesn't make sense that Vega would have this shit, but then again, he could have had them ever since 40 years ago, so accepted. I still say that Hitomi should be an Android, though.

Name: Topaz Regun
Appearance: Image. Appears to be in her early 20s. Long black hair that goes down to her lower back, very light brown eyes that look more like they're yellow and white skin. Wears a black coat with separate sleeves and golden details that goes down to her knees over a white tank top, tight blue jeans, dark red belt, black glovelettes and black biker boots with three buckles.
Species: Human.
Occupation: Retired police lieutenant.
Bio: A straightforward and apparently quiet person, she grew up raising her little brother after their single mother went missing when she was still a child and him a baby. She very much enjoyed her job and quickly achieved lieutenant thanks to her dedication and talent. She retired only a few months after this, a year ago, after accusing some well-liked officers of corrupt conduct. She seldom secretly hunts down and executes dangerous criminals.
Equipment: A pair of black custom-made 9mm guns with a blade over their slide as well as holsters properly adapted to the guns that she wears on opposite sides of her belt.
She can also cause a small knife to slide out of a barely noticeable horizontal cut on the back of each of her gloves by putting her wrists together.

Name: Adramelech
Cockpit: In the head, protected by the armor. Usually remotely controlled.
Appearance: The Adramelech is 40 feet tall and 15 feet wide. It's a humanoid-looking Megadeus covered in black armor with green linings. Its helmet is shaped like a dragon's head, with two small horns that are part of the helmet as well and two red diamond shaped eyes. Its feet and hand armor has long claws and it has a long, heavy dragon-tail. On its chest is a large pulsing red core. When it's preparing to fire its laser, the core glows intensely. It being connected to the transparent green linings on its armor, which contain small green lamps beneath them, this causes them to glow as well.
Weapons: The Adramelech isn't very agile, but it has great physical strenght despite its size. It will cause great damage with its punching, tail whipping and, occasionally, kicking. Its red core can gather energy to fire a very powerful laser beam, which is its strongest weapon, but upon firing it the Megadeus will require several minutes to cool off before being able to move again. It can grow two relatively small dragon wings (fully made of black metal, like the armor) out of its back, each with many machine guns aligned along their upside. These also have some small jets beneath them that allow the Megadeus to move faster, though not fly.

Name: Zell Talea.
Appearance: About 5'7'', with a medium build. Usually wears white shirts, usually a nice, formfitting turtleneck. Her pants are usually dark, usually tight, navy jeans, or black slacks depending on the occasion. She also wears white leather pumps. She also has red eyes, with slitted pupils, either a genetic defect, or maybe having to do something with the past, she isn't sure what the reason is.
Zell.
Species: Human.
Occupation: Artist.
Bio: Though art wasn't something she really something she thought she could make a living on, Zell wasn't one to look a gift horse in the mouth. After getting a wealthy patron, and subsequently making a name for herself in the art ring, and "high society", Zell acquired enough coin to quietly retire to the Domes.
She has a bit of a curious side, which she sates with different tutors. Over the years she has spent in the Domes she has learned to be more than the quirky artist, and can now function inside the Domes as an "intellectual" capable of holding a conversation on a variety of topics.
Equipment: Nothing of particular note.
Other: N/A.

Name: Mirror Zero.
Cockpit: Set at the cock of the Megadeus. There is a glass case allowing the pilot to physically see the surrounding area, as well as a HUD that shows blind spots, and allows the pilot to zoom in on specific areas that the pilot can choose. See the picture.
Appearance: About 30 ft tall and 11 across. Sharp angles and a relatively light build make Mirror Zero stand out among the usually bulky Megadeuses.
Mirror Zero.
Weapons: Mirror Zero's main attribute is its speed, but it suffers from a lack of heavy fire power. It has arcing beam cannons mounted on its back that can attack either forward of backwards. Mirror Zero's main weapon is the sword that protrudes out of its right arm. The sword can be launched as a spinning projectile capable of slicing through even the most dense metals.

Really, the head laser was its strongest weapon, then it suddenly got flipped in Season 2.

~Character~

Name: Luna Seppun (25yoa)
Appearance: 5'11, Pale, long black hair, 60kg, full breasted and well curved.
Species: Human; Female.
Occupation: Despite her youth and having less experience, she is a respected detective in the police force.
Bio: She was born into a strange world, and her parents were both killed in a car-jacking that went wrong.
She was later adopted and raised by a high ranking police officer, and her deductive skills, reasoning and general intelligence far surpassed other children of her age. She was raised in a very strict household, and was not allowed to do anything that could negatively affect her intelligence or health. When she left school, she immediately sought to join the police force so that she could work with her father.
Equipment: Luna carries a small pistol while on a job, owns several collector item knives and other blades, as well as a phone that her father paid for her to have made that carries a tracking device, as well as a concealed razor that she can pop out like a SIM card.
Other: She is a lesbian. That is quite unimportant but there all the same.

~Megadeus~

Name: Prolix Arma
Cockpit: The cockpit is in the chest and stomach, where the driver is actually propped up in a standing position by restraints.
It can also be controlled remotely, but it is less coordinated if done that way.
Appearance: Body; 15m tall, 5m width, in the shape of a giant human, not too bulky, smooth sides. Arms/Tentacles; 6, each 20m long with a 1m circumference, at the end they have long, many jointed finger like tentacles on the end with extremely strong claws.
Weapons: While two of the tentacles are required to keep the Megadeus in the air, the other four can be used as beaters and have huge blades with razor edges along each of the four sides.
Also has shoulder mounted homing missiles (12 in all that can be reloaded to 6), and a gun on each hand. The left hand gun fires four harpoon like weapons that inject super heated metal on strike. The right hand gun fires 50.cal bullets at a semi-auto rate of fire.
Other: Prolix is an exceptional climber, as well as an effective killer. While it is not best suited for fighting other Megadeus, it is a deadly weapon all the same.
