In Zanarkand

"Oh. You're welcome."

*She looks at Ark.*

"I remember...something."

<Well, that's promising. I think. The one thing I'm sure of is that she hasn't lost her power to summon, otherwise I wouldn't be here right now.>

"Well, that is a start, but if all she remembers how to do is summon, she is nothing more than a tool, a weapon to be used. It doesn't seem right to drag her along if she doesn't even know why she is fighting."

Ark: <Shut up! She remembers. She remembers, doesn't she?>

*He looks at Hitomi with his eyes wide open.*

"Why is everyone so excited? Are we playing a game?"

<When I rip Sin a new one, you will be deposited on the path leading to the Zanarkand Ruins, & Sin will be temporarily incapacitated. What you do after that is up to you.>

"I don't like Sin."

<That's nice.>

Ingrid put her head in her hands, "This is a horrible turn of events..." She mumbled to herself.

*She slowly begins to let go of Luna.*

"You don't really remember much, do you?"

Ark: <(You can't be serious.)>

*He gets up and turns to Senthose.*

Ark: <Oui ryja du veq ran, tyssed! Drec ech'd ujan oad!>

<I just told you, I don't know how. I never planned for her to get eaten by Sin. I was actually hoping the rest of you incompetents would die, and THAT would be what forced her to invoke a summoning pact with me. Since that DIDN'T happen, I can only assume you ran afoul of Belias Ronso. Did you at least manage to kill him?>

*Luna shrugs.*

"Not really. But is that so bad? That man over there says I'm a Guado. And you all look really familiar. And I know I don't like Sin, but I guess he's my monster dad, or something. I learned a lot about myself today."

Ark: <And it made her slow, too!>

*He facepalms, the clenches his fists and grits his teeth, glaring at Senthose furiously. He then shakes it off and turns to Luna again.*

Ark: <It's okay. We'll help you remember. Right, girls? Now, let's find a way to get out of here.>

"Yea, we'll help. Now, Senthose, you said something about getting us out of Sin."

"I'll help."

*She lets go of Luna and picks up her book holding it close to herself.*

[She was the first person I considered a friend...]

<I'm sure some of you remember that Magma Blast was my strongest attack. Well, not anymore, it's not!>

*He holds out his hand, a crackle of black energy emanating from it. Space seems to rip & distort around it until it's just a small, black hole. Then it starts to glow. Finally, he points it at nothing in particular & a ridiculously bright beam of blue-white light shoots out of it, blasting a house-sized hole into what appears to be thin air. On the other side of it is Mt. Gagazet.*

<There's your exit. Now, go.>

"Actually, I don't know what your attacks ar--" She was cut off by Senthose's attack. "Alright then..." She said, walking over to Luna, helping her up, and walking towards the portal. "Come on, lets get out of here."

*Hitomi slowly stands up and goes towards the hole.*

*Ark widens his eyes and glares at Senthose one last time before running out.*

Ark: <I still don't like you!>

<No one cares.>

*With that, he turns back into shadow, the shadow dissolving & dispersing into Pyreflies.*

"You don't have to walk me around, you know. I still remember how to walk. But thanks, anyway."

*Outside of the portal, they find themselves stepping onto a chunk of land in the ruins of the city on the Gagazet side. There's a teleporter pad nearby, & a bridge made entirely of destroyed buildings, stretching far out to the sea to connect to a distant island.*

"I do remember a friend of mine got hurt, & I can help him somehow by going back up to Gagazet real quick."

It was like a gut punch seeing the destroyed ruins for the first time after seeing the city in its glory, but Ingrid tried to shake the feeling. Turning to Luna she said, "I don't think that would be wise."

*Having cared not for the city past or present, Hitomi stood by a ways away waiting for a decision to be made on what to do next.*

Ark: <It isn't right to take her to the Fayth without her even knowing why she's doing it...>

"I feel the same way." Ingrid said in response to Ark, "But, what are we going to do, disband, go on our merry way, we can't do it without her, but I refuse to use her as a tool, that leaves little options..."

*Luna has taken a page from Hitomi's book & is already walking back up the mountain path, gaping at the ruins of buildings as she goes.*

Ingrid puts her head in her hands and almost collapses when she notices Luna walking away absentmindedly, Oh no... there are two of them now... "Luna, don't just walk away."

Ark: <Wait, Ingrid!>

*He walks past Ingrid, following Luna.*

Ark: <I think we should let her. We do need her to remember, after all.>

*Hitomi follows trailing behind Luna.*

*She turns back.*

"No one's saying you can't come with me."

*She then keeps walking.*
