God Yet Lives

Noctis flips shit when she sees it. She blinks her fullbring on, and was about to launch it into the stratosphere, but remembered Jim, so she dived, swam down, shadow punted it off of her, then swam back up, screaming the entire time. When she returns to the surface she looks like a scared puppy that was just beaten.

Sab smiled, and hugged Aroma, "I'm glad someone does."

Mortal shrugged, "The mask looks weird, but you actually look better with the whites of your eyes black."

*Euryale kicks over & puts an arm around Noctis.*

"It was just an octopus, hon. They're harmless."

*The octopus swims past, its eyes boring into Noctis.*

<But apparently spiteful.>

L"I...thanks...I guess?"

S"You know, I don't think you really appreciate what you have. What Soul Reaper can boast of having wings? Real wings, that can really feel the wind. Not some construct of a Bankai. A Hollow can. And because they can, so can you. And because you can, you know that there is no substitute. You can stand on the air, but to fly under your own power is something else entirely."

Mortal didn't have the heart to inform them that wings were overrated.

*Euryale strokes her hair.*

"They're a lot like cats or dogs. They don't mean any harm."

*It continues to float there & glare at her.*

A"The wings are kind of pretty."

*Lilith blushes, scratching her hair & putting the mask back on.*

L"I...don't think I've ever been complimented on my wings before."

S"That is becuse Soul Reapers are uncultured & don't appreciate the physical majesty of Hollows! And you're here because you're more enlightened than that, correct? So, do what we do best, & fire big frickin' lasers at a rival!"

Astarte was watching quietly from a seated position in the doorway. She wondered who was the first to achieve fusion between hollow and soul reaper.
She tilted her head as her gaze fell to Lilith. It still seemed quite unnatural to be so close to a Soul Reaper without either having to flee or kill them. But then this one wasn't just a Soul Reaper, this one was a hollow too.
At the mention of wings, Astarte smiled slightly, dropping her gaze to the ground. She liked hers- they were really very useful- but nobody would call hers pretty.
She looked up to Senthose as he spoke of firing lasers at a rival, waiting to see exactly what was going to happen.

Mortal let out a small sigh, and braced from a random cero, "Wait, I thought we were working on hierro, not cero."

"Cats don't have tentacles," Noct said.

Kira threw up a Severing Void and continued watching.

*One of the feathers bumps into the Severing Void. After that, the rest immediately swarm it, cracking it apart. Almost immediately afterwards, Noah blows through it with a sound blast, hurling Kira through a tree. He then flash steps towards him.*

E"And rats have fur. The tentacles aren't there to hurt you."

*Jim pokes the octopus in the head. It continues glaring at Noctis.*

L"Yeah!"

*Lilith fires a Cero into Mortal's abdomen.*

S"That wasn't working. So I switched tactics."

L"...Why did I do that?"

S"It is surprisingly easy to get someone caught up in the moment. Also, what the Hell? That was barely stronger than the first Cero."

L"Don't blame me. I did everything the same way as before. At least so far as I can remember."

Kira pulled on his Hollow mask and shunpod away at his top speed.

*Noah grabs him by the back of the neck.*

N"No. There is no escape."

*With that, he forms the ring of feathers around them.*

Mortal let out a small sigh, "You should try working on a unique cero. The regular ones are a bit dumb, and useless. I mean, with enough effort you can get something cool like Ven's cero. She shoots dinosaurs."

Noct shrugged, "Doesn't stop them from being creepy."

S"Baby steps, here. What was probably different from last time is that you were bleeding last time & the Cero mixed with your blood."

L"...That makes a difference?"

S"Of course it does! Why do you think we cut ourselves before using a Gran Rey Cero? Because no one understands us?"

L"Well...you were just talking about how Soul Reapers don't appreciate--"

S"I did not ask for a direct answer to the question I just asked!"

"Ah, they're only creepy because they scare you. You gotta try to think positive, once in a while. Once you do, the world is a little more pleasant."

"Oh, damn, so she was blasting out Gran Rey's and didn't even know it," Mortal smiled a bit.

"Who said you didn't think positive? I didn't say that. Did you hear me say that?"

<No.>

"How 'bout you?"

*The octopus just stares at her.*

S"I bet if you hit Mortal with one of them, you'd put a decent sized hole in her."

"I never said that you said that I didn't think positive. I was just saying that I did, for the record."

Mortal chuckled a bit, "I'm not as easily penetrable as you are, Senthose."

S"Blast her. In the fucking face."

L"Are you sure that's a good idea?"

S"Yes, now be sure to aim for one of the eyes."

Noctis allows it a wide berth.

"I'd suggest you aim for a limb," Mortal said, "If you somehow managed to kill me you'll be pissing off the cooks."

L"Well...if you're sure it's okay."

*Lilith bites one of her fingers.*

E"So...you think we should head back?"

Noct turns towards Jim, seeing as it was his outing.

Mortal let out a sigh, and braced for impact.

Jim<Hey, don't look at me. I just have to get the boat back in one piece. It doesn't matter whether I do it now or 3 days from now.>

*Lilith fires a pulsating Cero orb at Mortal's right arm that burns it clean off.*

Kira placed a hand on Noah's and yelled, "Fusatsu Kakei!"
A moment afterwards he kicked Noah hard in the stomach and fully hollowfied.

OOC: "A Kido seal invented by Kisuke Urahara to--" Ahahano.

*The ring creates an immense explosion of sound that blasts Kira from all around. He can feel his ears ringing & bleeding. Noah dawns his Hollow Mask & disappears from view.*

Mortal winces a bit and then groans slightly, "Damn, I should have rolled up my sleeve." With that, she brandishes a new arm, and wiggles her fingers a bit.

Noct shrugged, "Then it is up to you Euryale. Do you want to stay?"

"That's not fair. Don't make me decide, it's too much responsibility."

S"Ceros appear to be your forte. I don't believe you'd benefit from Sonido or Pesquisa. Your Hierro should get stronger if you can maintain that mask for longer. Does anyone have anything else to try before I move on to what I know I'm going to regret?"

*A crack appears down Faerie's eye. Lilith gathers some black Reitsu in her hand to repair it.*

Noct giggled a bit, "Calm down, it isn't a life changing question. How about we stay and continue looking around? I know you like seeing the rocks."
