| ♦Story♦ Legends say thousands of years ago, a divine world was born under mysterious circumstances, a world called Mysteria. But its magic was too great, and after a great war between two its races, humans, led by their Queen, and All'Elves, it was divided into two smaller dimensions: Verte, the physical part of Mysteria, inhabited by humans and elves, and a second part, containing the magic part of Mysteria. This magic world was the source of monsters in Verte, and its people, first elves and later humans, even learned to draw energy from it to cast magic. A human civilization eventually grew into a giant city-state with advanced technology and sorcery. They met the guardians of the bond between the two worlds, mystical deities called the Aeldi, and learned to summon them in battle. But their ambition was too great, and it became their ruin. They decided to merge the worlds again, and the Aeldi did not agree to it. Refusing to give up, the humans began developing a project to control the leader of the Aeldi, Origin, but their plans failed miserably. The experiment resulted in the destruction of the entire city and its inhabitants. After this, Origin entered a deep slumber that would last for hundreds of years, until he awoke, thirsty for revenge. He threatened to destroy all of Verte in his vendetta against the human race, and would have accomplished such goal hadn't it been for the strength and bravery of a group of nine heroes. With the help of their friends and courage, they defeated Origin and made him see his mistake. In his final living moments, he left his legacy with the heroes. With nine heroes the Aeldi knew would take their place as guardians of the worlds, all of the Aeldi moved on with their leader, returning balance to the worlds, and allowing them to merge back together. Mysteria was, once again, born, and these heroes became known as the Dawn Guardians. Our story starts 20 years later.- More:
Attention! This is a more elaborated story section that includes a more detailed explanation of the events of Tales of Mysteria, and it is ill advised that members that did not participate in it read it until a while after the RP starts, under risk of getting too confused!Ancient HistoryLegends say thousands of years ago, a divine world was born under mysterious circumstances, a world called Mysteria. Its magic was so great, it was divided into two smaller dimensions: Verte, the physical part of Mysteria, inhabited by humans and elves. The second one, the magic half, became shrouded in mysteries, with barely anything being known about what inhabited it. Eventually, the elves of Verte drew power from the magic world to cast magic, though it would take the humans hundreds of years more to discover such great power. One day, on a large island away from the main continent of Verte, a huge human city was born: Yurion. Its people developed advanced technology and even met creatures living between both worlds, guarding their connection, the Aeldi, learning about magic from them and even how to summon them in battle. But their superb greatness wasn't to last. They decided to reunite the two worlds, something the Aeldi didn't want to do for the same reason they had been separated in the first place. So a group of scientists from Yurion decided to develop a new project with the goal of controlling the Aeldi against their will. A young little orphan volunteered and they gave him that power through several experiments. After making the boy, whom they named Crone, control several minor Aeldi, they decided it was time to control the leader of all Aeldi: Origin. Unfortunately, Origin's power was too great to be controlled that easily. He was trapped within Crone's body, but they'd control each other on an equal level. The entire city was destroyed within seconds, victim of Origin's wrath, and Crone fell into a deep slumber that would last hundreds of years. Events of Tales of MysteriaAfter hundreds years, Crone awakened in the ruins of the lost city he had destroyed, and with him awakened the enfuriated Aeldi within him. Origin seeked to destroy all humans as revenge for betraying him. Luna, an Aeldi that had once been Origin's right hand and who witnessed what happened to him, Crone, and the city, knew she had to do something to save that world and its people. And so she chose a group of heroes to face Crone, with each of them bonding with one of the Aeldi in their journey. But Origin was gaining power. He managed to find a way to break free, and left Crone's body. The regretful man joined the chosen heroes and Origin was finally defeated after taking hundreds of lives. Repenting what he had done and having been shown he had committed the same mistake as the people of Yurion, Origin passed his legacy on to the nine heroes, and disappeared, being followed by the remaining Aeldi. This allowed for a successful rebirth of Mysteria, and the nine heroes responsible for these events became known as the Dawn Guardians. Tales of Mysteria: The Golden LegancyWith the rebirth of Mysteria, new kinds of magic were discovered and new previously unknown races that inhabited the magic world joined the humans and elves. Not only this, the discovery of the ancient ruins of the technologically advanced Yurion by the nine heroes during their journey allowed the people of Mysteria to greatly develop their cities. Our story starts 20 years after the events of Tales of Mysteria. For more info, check the following links: Tales of Mysteria Intro & Sign-UpTales of Mysteria Ending & Epilogue
♦World♦ - World:
Mysteria retains Verte's rather simple geographical layout. A main somewhat circular continent divided into three kingdoms and surrounded by many small islands.
The Northern Kingdom, Alda - It consists of the northern part of the main continent, covered in frozen mountains (eastern and western areas) and icy plains (center and nothern areas), and with a weather that goes with its look. Its capital is located at the center of a large ice plain at the northern area. As of the marriage between its queen and the king of Sephira several years back, the two are semi-independent parts of the Aldo-Sephiran Alliance.
The Western Kingdom, Sephira - It consists of the western part of the main continent, covered in green forests, plains, lakes and verdant mountain ranges, being that the capital is located in the middle of the woodlands on its western area. As of the marriage between its king and the queen of Alda several years back, the two are semi-independent parts of the Aldo-Sephiran Alliance.
The Eastern Kingdom, Toros - It consists of the eastern part of the main continent, consisting mostly of deserts, valleys, canyons and badlands due to an eternally infertile land and hot weather. The capital is a true oasis amidst a large desert on its western region.
There are also many islands, some independent, other belonging to the kingdoms, that surround the main continent. The world is a fantasy setting with Alda & Sephira being more of an European style and Toros more oriental, though only in appearance. There are elements of technology, usually mixed with magic, especially since the discovery of the ruins of Yurion 20 years in the past: they had magical machinery like airships, that now run on magic instead of steam, new guns, cameras, etc. Overall, not that much has changed though. There is also a magic academy for the gifted young warriors founded in a cooperation between the three kingdoms at the time of the merger, located on an island off the shore of Toros.
♦Races♦ - Races:
Humans - The humans are by far the most numerous race of Mysteria. They created the ancient city of Yurion and the three kingdoms the continent is nowadays divided in. They are interested not only in magic, but also technology, and live at peace with all of the other races.
Elves - The second most populous race of Mysteria. They look a lot like humans, but with yellowish skin, pointy ears, and an average lifespan of 180 years. After the age of 12, they begin to age a little slower than humans, but it's their old age that lasts much longer than the other's. The elves have shared a world with the humans for a long time, but they were always distant, lovers of nature, living mostly in tribes on the islands around the main continent, until the rebirth of Mysteria. They have since began to try to mingle, and many villages moved to the main continent.
Gnomi - These adorable beings are one of the races that lived in the magic world until the merger. They look like little human children, between the ages of 4 and 7, but never age. Guardians of the forests, they are born from a type of large flower bud looking the same way they do when they die, 100-120 years later. Since the merger, they inhabit the forests of Sephira, with some villages also found in the other two kingdoms, often alongside elven villages that moved in from the islands.(Singular Gnomus.)
Valia - The Valia look like humans, but are usually shorter, with feline features, most commonly tail and ears. They are one of the races that lived in the magic world before the merger. They usually live in small villages, but they are the race that most easily adapted to life in Mysteria, with many moving to the big cities. Lifespan is about the same as a human's.
Nacht - The Nacht are likely to be the least populous well-known civilized race of Mysteria. They are an all-female race of spiritual beings that live to pray to the energies of nature in distant temples and shrines. They look like human females, but much taller (about 50% taller than the average human woman), and they have light blue skin, hair color that ranges from human colors to shades of blue or grey, and eyes of a much larger variety of colors than that seen in humans. They wear fluid cloaks and gowns in light colors, with many beads, feathers and ribbons ornamenting their outfits.
All'Elves - Finally, the All'Elves are the most mysterious race of Mysteria. They are from the magic world, where they were only known by the other races in legend. They live under the ground, in a dark dimension they call the Alleailma, and are only known to exist from rare stories and the fact the nine legendary heroes faced them in their battle against Origin, 20 years in the past. They are powerful beings with mysterious knowledge of dark arts and tremendous magical reserves. They look much like elves, but with bronze skin. Their average lifespan is 2000 years.

| Name: Alto S'el Alslief Vauldencroix (Usually omits Aelo's name and goes by just Alto Vauldencroix) Race: Human (World Touched) Age: 16 (37) Appearance: Alto (Right)Bio: The very same Alto counted among the Nine Guardian's of the Dawn who gave his life supposedly to weaken Origin's power allowing the others to land the decisive blow that finished him. He did not in fact perish that day, twenty years ago. Instead, in one more final act of kindness, Origin used what was left of his vast power to pull Alto's fragile soul back from the brink and give him a new body. However in order to facilitate this miracle something had to be sacrificed. Alto lost almost all of his magical power and 80% of his memories in order to be reborn. For seventeen years he slept peacefully till one day he awoke with only a word, "Aera". In the three years that followed his awakening Aelo's suspicions were confirmed; Alto held Origin's power, albeit in a diluted form. However before his training could begin Alto slipped out in the dead of night and traveled five days without rest from Aelo's secluded villa to the capital of Sephiran in order to find Aera once more. He found her but things did not work out. He was different now; the age gap too vast between them. Least of all the fact that when Aelo found him he was informed about his drastically altered life span. He and Aera decided to remain close friends instead of continuing their romance from twenty years ago. After that Alto gave himself over, 100%, to his remastery of the sword and his new magic. Kingdom: Aldanian Fighting Skills: Alto retains some of his previous skills with a sword but has had to almost relearn and rebuild his style around his now human body. Without the phenomenal reserves of mana to augment his physical prowess he can no longer fight like a mad beast. However as luck would have it almost all of his afore mentioned physical prowess has carried over to his new body. He is significantly stronger and faster than the average human and can go toe to toe with the All'elfs in terms of melee combat. His unique magic allows him to draw on Origin's mastery over the elements of water, wind, fire, earth, ice, lightning, darkness, and light and imbue his sword with them to bolster his melee strikes as well as using his sword as a foci for the magic. Other: - Name: Oriens Daelph-Mistitleinn Race: Half-Elf Age: 20 Appearance: Oriens (Left)Bio: Allina and Lucien's eldest child, their son, and the first half-elf ever born into the world. Oriens is a young man who is filled with a determined and unwavering spirit that manifests itself as an almost totally serious personality. Oriens was conceived the night after the final battle with Origin much to both of his parents complete shock. Growing up it was clear however that while he was the child of two of the Dawn Guardians he only inherited his mother's skills. Indeed his healing magic was very strong from an early age but he showed no aptitude for the blade. Still he studied hard to become a cleric until one day he met his father's old friend Lin who showed him a bit of archery. Despite its archaic use he took to the bow like a fish takes to water. Oriens discovered that he was able to do more than just heal. With bow in hand he could draw the mana of the world to him and release arrows of healing or destructive light. In order to to better harness his growing power Allina began to temper his destructive tendencies and nurture his original healing spirit whilst Lin continued to train him in archery till he became nearly as good as her. After that Oriens went to live with Fahren. It was there that he happened to meet Alto one day and the two, though complete opposites, became friends and decided to travel together. Aelo has sent both out on a mission. Kingdom: Sephiran Fighting Skills: A skilled archer, to the point that one could call him a Sniper, he's a deadshot with a bow. He has inherited his mother's talent for healing and has made it his own by adapting it. He can fire healing light arrows or destructive ones as well as using enhancing magic through his arrows. Other: - Name: Cello Baticule Race: Human Age: 14 Appearance: CelloHis attire is similar to what is depicted here only bearing the snowflake symbol of Alda. Bio: Creed, one of the Guardians of the Dawm, and Deya's beloved son and the only one of their three children to survive the illness that Creed himself suffered from as a youth. He would have had two older brothers but they both perished. The Baticule family is still very much grieving the loss. Still Cello has taken the illness in stride even though he has not fully been rid of it. Cello has been taking fencing and magic lessons from none other than Queen Kelphy herself and he hopes, in time, that he can take over the commander-general spot that has been left vacant since Creed's recent decision to fully immerse himself in the study of magic. Due to this Creed has grown distant from the rest of his family including his son. Wishing to see his father, who he hasn't seen in months, Cello now travels to Toros. Kingdom: Aldanian Fighting Skills: Cello is a skilled fencer like his teacher Kelphy. His skill with a rapier may one day allow him to accomplish his lofty goals despite his sickly body. He's also quickly become a water mage savant. He learns with a prodigious speed that more than makes up for the time he has to spend in bed due to his illness. He's every bit as talented as his teacher was when she was his age. Other: -

| Name: Aegis Vulcan Race: Human Age: 11 Appearance: AegisBio: A traveling alchemist with the dream of one day creating the "Perfect item" as he calls it. He isn't even sure what this is, but his whole life has been dedicated to alchemy and learning all sorts of recipes for various things. His creativity and intelligence are very advanced despite his age. He ran away from his brutal, cold home of Alda at 9 years old of his own accord and has been traveling ever since. He currently resides in Toros. Kingdom: Alda Fighting Skills: He relies on alchemic skills in battle, mixing items together in a cauldron he carries with him. Right now, he specializes in creating healing potions and bombs with the elements ice or fire, as well as a special potion that increases speed and power. Other: In his head, the form of the "Perfect item" he imagines is a golden sword. Name: James Lorri Race: Human Age: 41 Appearance: James; is wearing this over his clothes. Bio: A warrior that helped the 9 heroes on their journey to defeat Origin. After Origin's defeat, he traveled the world, helping people all over. Over the years, he's regretted contributing so little to Origin's downfall, and abandoning everyone the way he did, both during the 9 heroes' journey and back when he let his allies die in the Aldan military. Looking for a way to "Pay back" for the people he let die under his watch, he's become a mentor of sorts to younger children, along with his habit of slaying any monster he may come across. Currently, he's in a desert at the border of Toros. Kingdom: Alda Fighting Skills: His sword skills have matured beyond anything humanly thought possible. All the rough, ruggedness of his previous fighting style has been cut away and replaced with technique, precision and deception. A master swordsman in his own right. He still keeps his fire magic and uses it in much the same way, although much improved. He now fights with a rapier that he made for himself on his travels. Other: Despite using his rapier, he still carries around the Aldan blade that he used to use on his back, although he never actually uses it in combat, saying it "Brings back bad memories". | |

| Will finish later. Laptop about to die.Name:Sorelyn Dorion Race:Elf Age:16 Appearance:- Spoiler:
Except without the forehead horn and earnings. Bio:Born in the Elven Islands to the younger brother of a powerful chief, Sorelyn had always lived, in her opinion, a boring life on the islands. Growing up with both her two older brothers and her cousin, she had never been far from her family. At age 14, after a relatively peaceful childhood, Sorelyn decided she was ready to travel on her own to the mainland. Her parents however, put there foot down and forced her to wait two years. Now, two years later, Sorelyn prepares to travel to Toros, on her own. Kingdom: An Elven Island. Fighting Skills: Like the other members of her family, Sorelyn is a user of powerful lighting magic which allows her to create lighting strikes and shock enemies. Another one of her main weapons is a white and gold spear given to her by her uncle for her 15th birthday, which Sorelyn has quickly become excellent at using.

| Name: Thiera Psyche Race: Elf Age: 16 Appearance: Long, blond hair that usually hides her pointy ears, blue eyes, white skin. Thiera also wears a cloak of pure white. Underneath this cloak she wears shorts and a tank top, also white, though she rarely takes off her first layer of clothing. Her shoes are simple white slip-ons, though with a wavy pattern of black running around them, designed to hide dirt and look like shadows until closely inspected. Bio: Thiera was born to a to the Psyche family, part of a small tribe of elves living in the forest, as elves are wont to do. It is the Psyche family tradition to study some form of medicine, be it pharmaceutical, magical, or both. However, both daughters defied this tradition. Thiera has an older sister, Lilith. Six years prior, Lilith had begun collecting and training with foreign blades. Four years ago, Lilith set off to become a soldier in the main kingdom's armor. When she did not write, the Psyche family suspected that something was amiss. This was confirmed when the matriarch, Binah Pyshce, finally managed to get in contact with the capital two years ago--though she tried hundreds of extensions, no one had ever heard of a "Lilith Psyche." Thiera forwent her just-beginning magic training, picking up some of her sister's weapons. When she became proficient, she set out to find what had happened to her sister. On the road, she resumed her study of magic in her spare time, and came to neglect foregoing it, even temporarily. Though cut off from even the basics of elemental magic, she had two frighteningly powerful allies on her side--math and the night sky. With the two of these, she was able to develop theories on how space and time ineracted. Once she hit her first city, she poured over modern theories and basic time magic, to fine-tune her knowledge. After several experiments on fruit flies, she finally found success, reversing a fly to its larval stage. The city also held another vital clue--another elf girl researching advanced magic had stopped by on her way to the capital nearly four years prior. So, with newfound magic she did not quite know how to use, she set off to find out if Lilith had ever reached her destination. Kingdom: Sephira. Fighting Skills: Thiera uses twin katana-like blades, both pure white. Her left blade is shorter, about a foot and a half. The longer weapon is a few inches shy of 2 1/2 feet. She can fight reasonably well with these, but more importantly, they've allowed her to develop a unique brand of magic that she dubs "Spacetime Magic." She also has some knowledge of natural herbs and poisons, though no means to refine them. Other: Get ready to have your mind fucking blown: - Spacetime Magic:
Thiera's spells are cast through the medium in her hands, in most cases this is her dual swords. She can theoretically use any medium she is capable of lifting, though using an extremely unfamiliar medium can sometimes slightly decrease the efficiency of her spells. The area her spells can manipulate is equal to the area circumscribed by the larger of the mediums. That space can be as far away as Mach 1/5 can travel in 12 seconds, about 816.7 meters, though she cannot penetrate any solid opaque material greater than an inch in thickness. Her magic can essentially be classified into 6 main "spells":
Speed: The ability to hasten the passage of time in an area. Time cannot be hastened beyond the target's implicit physical limits. A human cannot be made to travel faster than a speeding train and light cannot be made to travel any faster than it already does. However, a person that normally runs the mile in 8 minutes can be made to run it in about 6 with no perceived increase in difficulty. After the spell wears off, the target will gradually slow, reaching its normal rate in a few seconds.
Slow: The ability to slow the passage of time in an area, up to 100%. The target and the surroundings proceed at different rates, but they both have the same observation of time. In other words, a heart could theoretically be stopped, but it would not kill the person. However, this ability does not extend to outside objects, so in the previous example, a surgeon could be granted more time to operate on the heart, but at the same time, a complication could still kill the person. After the spell is over, the target's time will gradually accelerate, reaching its normal rate in a few seconds.
Reverse: The passage of time is reversed by up to 12 seconds. The spell takes thrice as much time to wear off as it does to cease functioning. In other words, after a reversal of 6 seconds, it will take another 18 seconds to cast a time spell on the target again.
Expand: Expands the area that a unit of space takes up. This starts at about 3 times, but gets weaker as it gets farther from the point of origin. This spell does not wear off until the expanded space interacts with an outside force. Living creatures cannot be expanded.
Contract: Functions under the same principles as expansion, but contracts the space.
Warp: Warps Target A to Target B. The distance that can be travelled is equal to the maximum distance of Thiera's casting. This can also be used to change direction. Although Warp wears off immediately, repeated usages of Warp can cause a sort of "Time Jet Lag" for both target (if applicable) and caster, with effects similar to those of extreme sleep deprivation. The likeliness of this effect increases dramatically with each successive usage, and diminishes as the individual experiences that space of time normally. Warp utilizes a wormhole effect with no gravity of its own, so it is very difficult to warp a target against his or her will, let alone over long distances.
Additionally, since all of Thiera's abilities function on the principle "elasticity of time," she cannot cast another spell until the effects of the previous spell wear off. However, with great concentration, she can use spells on 2 or 3 targets simultaneously.

| Name: Temperatus Colsun-Emeraude. He goes by Tempe for short. Race: Human. Age: 14. Appearance: - Spoiler:
Bio: Tempe is the son of Kelphy Colsun, the Queen of Alda, and Derek Emeraude, the King of Sephira. As a result of this, he's constantly in the public eye as the "Prince of Two Nations," among other titles. Most kids his age would love to be in his position, but he absolutely detests it. He constantly ditches things like etiquette lessons and schooling sessions, opting to explore the towns and various locations around the two castles he was brought up in. That brings up another thing of note: since his parents' marriage resulted in the unification of two nations, and since they both had to remain in their respective countries to lead affairs, he constantly is going back and forth between Alda and Sephira. During his journeys between the two countries, he picked up his gunmanship from the only member of the royal staff he actually trusts, his personal butler, Sloan. Tempe's relationship with his father could be described as "distant." The two have never seen eye to eye, and constantly have conflicting views of how Tempe should live his life. It goes down to details as small as Derek calling Tempe by his full name Temperatus, and Tempe refusing to acknowledge being called that. When Tempe is in Sephira, he spends as little time with his father as possible, despite the many attempts the latter has made at connecting with his son. Tempe's relationship with his mother is much better; he feels like that she understands his desire to not live as strict a life as his father did in his upbringing. Whether or not this is true, though, cannot be said for sure. He's currently en route to Sephira, along with Sloan. Kingdom: Alda/Sephira. Fighting Skills: Tempe's weapon forte lies in the wielding of twin pistols, while his elemental specialty is temperature altering magic abilities. He can use these abilities both separately and in conjunction with one another, i.e. he can use Gun Artes, Temperature Spells, and Elemental Bullets. His close range combat abilities, though, are lackluster at best. His father tried teaching him swordsmanship when he was younger, but he was adamantly against it, so, y'know, his loss. Other:
