Diabolus Ex Machina

Mirror Zero avoids getting one shotted by the SPP, "You're not too late, Big O is fighting on its own, Senthose blew a hole in... um... reality? Nothing happened though, and now he jumped into the hole he made."

T{He must be looking for the Megadeus's core memory. I can see the battlefield from here...I think we've been down there before.}

*Basilisk rushes at Big O, who grabs it with both arms & begins pulling. The Megadeus groans, & wires start snapping at the joints along its length.*

<Help! Please!>

*Senthose-Lilith walks over to a blond woman partially buried in the rubble, & lifts it off of her. Her shirt is partly ripped, revealing two scars where wings might be. S/he grins.*

<Thank you. I thought I was done for.>

S/L"Impossible. You aren't human, so how could you die?"

<What?>

Mirror Zero shoots a volley of lasers at Big O, "I think Senthose is attacking a woman down there."

This was it!

*Big O takes no notice of the lasers, & continues ripping Basilisk in half.*

T{What do you expect me to do about it?}

Angel<What? What are you saying?>

S/L"I'm saying that you are a mem--"

Angel<Stop it!>

*Angel starts crying.*

Angel<You're...telling me I'm not...human.>

*Senthose pulls Metropolis from Lilith's coat & presents it to her. She stares in shock when she sees the author's name: Angel Rosewater.*

"I don't know," Zell said, moving over to Big O and stabbing at it's elbow joint.

*Big O drops Basilisk & it wriggles slightly before getting its drill in the Megadeus's ankle. Both attacks disable the joints, so Big O opens its gun ports & fires at them. It also demolishes Basilisk's tail with its super piston palm.*

Mirror Zero strafes out of the way, shooting a volley of lasers, hoping to damage Big O's guns, "Thiera, are you alright?"

T{I'm not dead, at any rate.}

*Big O fires a much larger laser than its eye lasers out of the crown of its head at Mirror Zero. Basilisk bites it in the stomach & begins firing its own laser.*

T{Megadeus! I know you can take action without a Dominus, I've seen Big Duo do it. So why do you continue to fight for a Dominus who's obviously abandoned you?!}

*Senthose-Lilith puts his coat around the sobbing Angel & leads her into an elevator that appears out of nowhere. When the door closes & it begins to descend, she holds out a hand to her.*

S/L"I am a memory as well. You & I are the foundation upon which this city is built. This city needs us, but we do not need it."

Mirror Zero tries to dodge the laser, shooting another volley of lasers at Big O's smug face, but gets clipped on one of its 'wings'.

*Several of the ports that opened during Final Stage open up, though the cannon from the attack is still sitting by the Megadeus's leg in a rusted heap. Instead, it emits a spherical energy shield that blocks the lasers before rapidly expanding outwards as an attack. The wires in between Basilisk's coils are fried when it's hit, & the Megadeus stops moving. The energy barrier continues towards Mirror Zero.*

*When the elevator opens, Angel begins walking out. Shortly afterwards, pink energy connects to her back like wings, & she "flies" over to the giant box before vanishing in midair. Senthose-Lilith grins.*

Mirror Zero turns sideways and uses its one good thruster to gtfo.

*When the attack fades, the leg closest to Big O is disabled. Since it is essentially immobilized, it turns its head towards Mirror Zero & charges another Chrome Buster in its crown.*

Mirror Zero shoots another volley of lasers at Big O's head, then uses its single thruster to get in as close as possible, aiming to slice the top of Big O's head off.

*The now-headless Big O raises its fist, but stops when a bright pillar of light emerges from the crater. A Big that looks like Big O with inverted colars climbs out of the box. Perched on its shoulder is a figure with blue braided hair, dark black skin, & blue eyes--Senthose-Lilith, under the influence of similar inverted colors. The crater instantly becomes a grid of green lines, & Big Venus simply walks out.*

T{We're too late!}

"Wh- what is happening?"

*Big Venus touches Big O on the shoulder & Big O becomes a hollow Megadeus shape made of grid lines before vanishing.*

T{It's...all over.}

Zell didn't like that answer, and shot a volley of lasers at the Megadeus.

*The lasers vanish the moment they get anywhere near Big Venus.*

S/L<You can't destroy Big Venus, & you can't escape. So just lie back & accept it.>

*Big Venus continues walking towards Mirror Zero, & holds out one of its palms.*

"No!" Zell said, backing away from Big Venus. "Lilith, please, stop this!"

<She can't help you now. She is entirely under my control, as is Big Venus!>

"Stop."

*The first voice, Senthose's, came from Senthose-Lilith's mouth. Whenever he stopped speaking, Lilith's voice squeaked out, nearly inaudible, yet strangely loud now that the city had grown quiet. Big Venus abruptly stops moving, & simply stands still, holding its position.*

<What in the world? No, what are you doing? Absorb the city, as we planned!>

"Stop."

<Go!>

"Stop."

<Can't you say anything else?!"

"...Zell?"

"Yes, Lilith, please we need you to stop this," Zell said, "I can't reach Big Venus, so you have to beat Senthose."

"I...can't."

*Senthose laughs.*

<What did you expect her to do, girl? I grant you, she achieved something I did not expect, but she barely has enough control to say a few short words. In time, I'll regain control over Big Venus. Then you, the android, & everyone else but I will be deleted for good.>

Zell gritted her teeth, "What gives you the right to do any of this?" Zell asked, "Just stop, please!"

Ambience

<Because I was prepared to do what it takes to make it happen, my dear. You simply cannot stop me. So get over your failures, & die with dignity!>

*After he's done with his speech, the tray for Lilith's memory disc pops out of his forehead & begins spinning rapidly. Sparks fly out of it.*

<What do you think you're doing?!>

*Senthose-Lilith reaches for it, but her hand is electrocuted.*

<If you destroy that disc, you'll die as well! What kind of android would self-terminate? Don't tell me...that you actually know who you are...?>

"I love you."

*Everything goes white & when Zell next comes to, she's lying in her bed. It is confirmed that she was not dreaming when she sees blood on her shirt--there from when she supported Thiera, who had a deep wound in her side.*

Zell sits up straight, and and throws the covers off of herself, "Lilith, Thiera!" She looks around, "What happened..."
