Diabolus Ex Machina

Zell lets out a small scream, and jumps. Sadly when she lands it is on a slick surface and she stumbles around a bit before grabbing the shower curtain, pulling it down, and falling out of the tub onto Lilith.

*Lilith puts her arms around Zell to keep her from falling any further.*

L"You should be more careful. Human tissue is highly susceptible to impact damage."

Zell didn't really know what to do other than relax into her arms, blushing. "I, uh, I'm sorry, you just startled me. I didn't expect you to be in here," She said, looking up at Lilith, then quickly away, embarrasses.

L"I heard you speaking to me, so I moved closer. You are displaying strange symptoms again."

"It isn't strange, I'm naked and on top of someone I find attractive, so I'm blushing," Zell said, "It is perfectly reasonable!"

"I do not follow. What is blushing? How am I attractive?"

*Topaz frowns and walks closer to her, intrigued by her drowsiness.*

Topaz: <Oh, that's okay. Insomnia? Nightmares?>

"You're, I didn't mean to say, uh, um, eh," After a few more unintelligible strings of interjections, Zell just shut up and closed her eyes, trying to wish away the mess she got herself into. The worst part was knowing that she would open her eyes, still in Lilith's arms, and Lilith would still be at a loss, leaving Zell to look even more like a fool.

L"That was just an unintelligible string of interjections, it explained nothing."

T"The latter."

Zell let out a long sigh, then pushed herself off of Lilith. Her face was beet red, but she didn't pay it any mind, she didn't see the point anymore. She walked to the sink, picked up the towel and wrapped it around her body so she was at least semi-decent. Zell then turned to Lilith, "I find you attractive, Lilith. Physically. And I like you too, emotionally. It doesn't matter though, nothing will come from it, and I should start to realize that..."

*Lilith's lower lip purses & she looks up, appearing to ponder this information. Her face returns to normal as she looks at Zell.*

"Do you need assistance drying yourself?"

"What?" Zell was confused, but shook her head, thinking that Lilith just filed what she said in some useless information folder and went back to being a maid. "Not really, why?"

"Your previous statements do not make sense when compared to anything in my memory banks. Clearly, they warrant more detailed analysis than I can provide at present. In the meantime, it strikes me as effortful to dry oneself off. Why bid me to clean the house, but not its occupants? Does Thiera perhaps think I am not resistant to water?"

Zell frowns, "If it is only because you think you need to do so because you were told to keep the house clean, then no. I will clean and dry myself. As for the previous statements, don't worry about them. As I said, I've come to terms with not expecting anything of it. We couldn't be together, it just wouldn't work."

L"I am merely offering my assistance. If it is undesired, then I shall return to processing this conversation in further detail."

*She switches back to the pondering face.*

"Will you please ponder outside of the bathroom?" Zell asked.

L"I suppose I can do this. I will be nearby if you require assistance."

*Lilith leaves the bathroom, still pondering.*

Zell dries herself, takes care of other morning hygiene needs, then gets dressed. Taking her dirty clothes, she walks out of the bathroom, and tosses them in the hamper.

Topaz: <...Can I ask what they were about?>

*Lilith, ever the literalist, is in the bedroom. But at least she's not within sight of the bathroom.*

"Oh, it was ridiculous. First I saw the Behemoth Megadeus building the city. Then I was restoring Big Fau. But the pilot wasn't Aamon, it was Gordon Rosewater. The founder of the city. Can you believe that?"

*Topaz chuckles nervously.*

Topaz: <Oh, you'd be surprised. See, I dreamed I was piloting my Adramelech among many others, fighting Leviathans. I remember also seeing many Big Duo flying in the sky, and Big Fau was going around wrecking everything. And then there was this strange red bar code on my eyes... I had a bad feeling about this already, but after hearing about your nightmare... this is pretty weird, don't you think?>

Zell puts on some socks and shoes, and looks over at her easel. She wanted to paint, but she didn't want to be rude and not at least give Thiera a good morning. Running a hand through her hair, and knowing that it was indeed dry, Zell walked out of the door, and headed off towards the kitchen.

*Zell is accompanied by an android.*

T"Oh...good morning, you two. Isn't...it?"

Zell was going to return the greeting, but then she was confused, "Isn't it what?"

Topaz: <Weird that Thiera and I had similar nightmares.>
