Twilight of the Gods

"A pleasure," Eduj nodded to Aroma before eating his own taco, staring blankly at the middle of the table as he ate. Astarte also began to take small bites of her food while watching Hector sideways.
"So, Mortal," Hector began, all sinister expression gone. "I'm afraid I know very little about your lovely friends. Please, tell me a bit about them."

*One of those weird Japanese game shows is on. This one has something to do with hitting a man in the face with a fish.*

"We hope Lily will be coming soon. Are you gonna be nice to her, Lulukins?"

"Don't worry, it doesn't eat meat. Except for the occasional fish."

S"The blonde is a goat & the redhead is a butterfly."

A"Inchworm. The scientific name for which is...geometer moth."

"Meow." -She wants to kill me. But I will do my utmost to be at least courteous on the one condition that I am fed tuna.-

Noct changes the channel, hoping she can at least get to one where a komodo dragon tries to eat people.

"I just don't like deep water..." Atae said.

"And I'm not a goat, I'm a sheep. I think my scientific name is Ovis something Latin..." Sab said, trying to eat the taco without everything spilling out the back side of it.

Mortal looked at Hector, "I'm not their keeper, Hector. If you want to talk with them, they're right there."

"Of course," Hector looked to Aroma and Sab. "Well, I can't imagine two girls like yourselves could be fighters. As a sheep, I suppose your power would be to do with wool. And as an Inchworm... I suppose if your powers are along the same line as Sab's, you would produce silk."

"I can make wool, but my true power lies in teleportation," Sab said.

"Teleportation? Interesting..." Hector's eyebrows arched. "I suppose as a sheep in Hueco Mundo, such an ability would be invaluable."
"For both fighting and flight," Eduj added quietly.

"As a hollow I actually hunted more than I ran," Sab said, "But then Senthose found me and I became Sir Reginald III."

A"I do produce silk. It has healing properties. So I use them as stitches & bandages."

S"She's a surgeon."

*Aroma blushes.*

A" I wouldn't put it so...grandiosely."

"Oh. Why's that? Afraid you'll drown?"

"Don't sell yourself short," Mortal said, "You've saved my life with what you could do."

Sab nodded in agreement.

"Meow." -Yea, whatever, now behind the ear again.-

Noct giggled as some Japanese chick with a steak on her head stares down a charging komodo.

"I'm more afraid of things in deep water," Atae said, "Have you ever read H.P. Lovecraft?"

"Well, you two make quite a team even without your muscle," Hector beamed at them before taking a bite of his food.

Sab frowned, remembering the gorilla, "I might not be that strong, but I wouldn't say I don't have any muscle. I am an arrancar after all."

"Oh no, that's not at all what I meant," Hector swallowed his food and shook his head, still smiling. "Mortal is the most powerful of your... trio, that is all I meant. I don't doubt that you can pack your own punch."

Sab grumbled slightly, eating her taco, then grumbled again when everything fell out of the back.

"Who? That doesn't sound like anyone from the Soul Society."

*Aroma blushes more deeply & takes a mouthful of taco.*

Hector took another bite of his own food, allowing some time for others to speak. Astarte had barely touched her taco, but was glad to find she had not failed and none of them had fallen ill. She was also slightly suspicious of Hector's behaviour- he was never polite to her or the other Hollows.

"It isn't, he was a writer from the world of the living from about a hundred years ago," Atae explained, "He wrote a book that really creeped me out."

"Meow." -Damn your continued war efforts against my desire to not move.-

Lulu follows and hops up onto Euryale's lap. Noct leans into Euryale and pets Lulu, still giggling at the chick runs away.

Mortal chuckled slightly at the sight of Aroma and Sab fussing around with tacos. She then looked over at Astarte, "So, Astarte, how've you been since the last time I was here?"

"Quite well, thank you," Astarte said. "I have worked on my abilities and become more accustomed to living with other people... near other people."

"That is nice to hear," Mortal said with a smile, "I'm glad you're doing well."

*Euryale also pets Lulu.*

"Is this even legal?"

A"Are you doing well?"

S"...You're kidding, right?"

"Maybe?" Noct replied.

"Meow." -Why do they make that poor dragon run for its food?-

"Monsters and things," Atae said, "Kind of weird actually."

"Well, you have power, respect, and personal lackeys, but are you really happy, Senthose?" Mortal puts a hand over her heart, "On the inside?"

"Oookaaay...you realize our job is to fight monsters, don't you?"

"I don't understand the question."

"My job is to heal people to fight monsters, but your point isn't lost on me Cap-- Lilith," Atae rubbed the back of her neck, "Some things are just spooky, I don't know what else to tell you."

"She has to keep the steak on her head as long as possible."

"Meow." -Animals need a worker's rights union.-

Mortal just chuckled.

"So, have you seen Lilith lately?" Sab asked.

"She's been stuck in the Soul Society, which I clearly have not gone to since. She is supposed to be by later this week, after a trip to the living world."

"Alright, Noct, are you ready to go?"

*Atae distinctly remembers being told to come to Lilith's house for the trip.*

"So she is going to see the humans before you?" Mortal asked, "That must sting."

Noct was still sleeping, "Noooooooo..."

And so there she was.

"Come on, Noct, it's after lunch. Did you drink too much...on a Wednesday?"
