Gathering Guardians

He quirks an eyebrow, "Uh... according to the Al Behd who found me in the desert a week ago I was in a tent, passed out, on a giant flat black rock with a bunch of corpses that seemed to have died in an attack..." he pauses, "Summon? Summon what?"

*Hitomi doesn't look at the person or whatever the hell Zazak is*

"But I don't get a lot of fines. Or any for that matter."

[A little extra money would be nice.]

*She closes the book and puts it back on the shelf.*

"Okay, I accept."

Ark: <Ignore my buddy over here, Sin's toxin can be pretty tough.>

*He jumps in between them and takes her hand*

Ark: <Cu, crymm fa ku?>

OOC: Cu, crymm fa ku?=So, shall we go?

OOC: I can't act on information given in OOC comments. It's called "Out Of Character/Context" for a reason. But I do plan to have her learn Al Bhed sooner, rather than later.

"Great, glad that's settled. Though I think introductions are in order. I'm Syrona."

Max: <I'm Max...>

*Max lowers his head.*

*Zazak roars. The librarian comes over to shush him, gets a look at him, turns around, & walks away. Then, 5 other Ronso enter the library. All of them are about Zazak's height & 1 looks even taller. Zazak points to a female Ronso a couple feet shorter than he.*

Zazak<Igri Ronso, left offense.>

*Then to the tallest Ronso.*

Zazak<Ackbar Ronso, the manager & central offense.>

*A Ronso with a scar over his left eye.*

Zazak<Tock Ronso. Got scar from dragon-Fiend. Right offense.>

*Then to 2 more female Ronso, who are unusually tall & look identical.*

Zazak<Egreck & Lgreck Ronso are twins. They make up defense.>

*Finally, he points to himself.*

Zazak<And for those who don't know, I'm Zazak Ronso. The goalie.>

"Oh. Okay! Umm...lead the way, I guess...."

"Wow! That's probably the most intimidating group I've ever escorted."

*Syrona looks the group over and each of them sends a chill up her back. She never fought a Ronzo and hoped she'd never have to.*

"Well, I'm Syrona, leader of your escort. This is Max and, uh... hey what's your name?"

Ark: <Got'cha! Hey, you're coming too.>

*He pokes Zephyr's forehead and marches into the woods*

Ark: <Uvv fa ku!>

«Off we go»

"Hey, its what your pals told me" he shrugs and follows.

*Max becomes startled over the Ronsos introducing themselves.*

Max: [I might not be able to defend myself or them... I might just be useless the whole way through... oh, what do I do, what do I do...?]

[Great, the library is now a zoo.]

"Hitomi."

*Hitomi leaves the library.*

*Once they get into Besaid village, they head for the shell-like structure at the far edge. A priest bars their path.*

Priest<Whoa, there! What do you think you're doing?>

"I plan on becoming a Summoner today. Should I succeed, they will be my Guardians.>

Priest<This rabble? Guardians? What heresy is this?>

"They offered their help, which is more than the Crusaders I was travelling with were willing to do. Why shouldn't they be?"

~The Next Day~

*The Ronso team is already assembled outside the library. They're sporting nothing but a few bags of equipment.*

Ark: <I'll be your what!?>

*He glares at the monk*

*Hitomi approaches the library.*

[This is what I agreed to help escort?]

"Woah hey, you need to explain stuff before we do stuff. For example, I can't guard without a weapon, which is back at the expedition settlement."

*Max walks towards the library and sees the Ronsos waiting out front.*

Max: <I-I-I'm ready...>

*Max sits down and opens up a book titled "The useful Mage".*

*She turns around, shrugging.*

"I said I wanted to be a Summoner & I needed a team. I figured that's what you were agreeing to when you brought me here."

Priest<Haha! That's too rich.>

*He holds his sides, laughing. Luna frowns.*

Ackbar<We go.>

Zazak<But the Ranger isn't here yet.>

Ackbar<She'll catch up. Don't worry.>

"You're buying me a new sword she-devil"

"Wait up!"

*Syrona comes running up to the library, panting to catch her breath.*

"Sorry...slept in..."

*She recovers herself*

"So, we ready to go?!"

Ark: <We all need to chill.. and ignore Zeph. That's important too.>

*He pulls Luna away from the unfriendly priest a bit*

Ark: <(I'm an Al Bhed, I can't be your Guardian!)>

*Hitomi follows.*

OOC: I really wanted to avoid posting as that's all I had.

"You can go back to get the sword later! And sure you can! Summoners can have whoever they want as a Guardian."

Priest<Yeah, but you have to actually BE a summoner. We're not going to make exceptions for any young upstart who comes in here.>

"Then Zephyr will be my Guardian, & Ark will join us WHEN I succeed."

Priest<In the highly unlikely scenario that the Fayth answer your call? Sure. Why not?>

*She turns back to Ark.*

"Well, there you have it."

*The Ronso Fangs & their escort team are ferried across the Highbridge to Macalania Forest, a forest whose crystal blue trees make giant paths with their arching roots. As they're walking along, a wasp the size of the Ronsos' heads swoops over them & a blue blob with a huge, fanged grin falls out of the trees.*

Zazak<Fiends!>

Ark: <... Fine! I need to get my ball back anyway.. Meet you here when you're done with your thing. Ciao!>

*He runs back towards the beach*
