| I know some of the usual characters' names have meanings. I think Euryale(Neon), for instance, is a demon or whatever... So yeah, I'd like to know that kind of stuff.

| Euryale is one of the Gorgons. One of the unimportant ones.
So, I guess you were close when you said demon.

| What does hitomi mean? It's in 'Break Up!'(Digimon Adv.02)'s lyrics. | |

| Senthose Nephila Rasheverek: I made up the name "Senthose" to sound sinister. Nephila are Biblical monsters made when Angels breed with Humans. It hints at something in KtC. Rasheverek is a demon in Christian mythology.
Aamon Avici: Avici is the deepest Hell in Hindu mythology. Aamon is a demon who works with Rasheverek in Christian mythology.
Helen Barbatos: Helen, "the face who lost a thousand ships." I wanted a woman who was known for starting a major war for her first name. Barbatos is one of the demons who works with Rasheverek.
Valefor Pruslas: Valefor is some kind of demon. Pruslas is, you guessed it, a demon who works with Rasheverek.
Euryale Rakshashi: Rakshasha are warrior-spirits in Japanese mythology. Euryale is one of the gorgons. So named because they have bronze talons, & Euryale has bronze armor. Also, I like the name. Medusa & Stheno, her sisters, are the other gorgons.
Roatha Arelaz: Roatha I just made up. Arelaz is an anagram of the angel of death. I have no idea what that's supposed to mean.
Thiera Psyche: Psyche means "soul" or "mind." Thiera is an anagram of Aerith.
Nero Schwarz: Both names mean "black."
The Da'at: Named after the Sephirot in Jewish mythology. Da'at is the term for the union of the 10 Sephirot.

| I just pulled most of my character names out of nowhere. Especially last names. Every last name is one I pulled from my ass. I'm sure there is some meaning to them, but that's not why I chose them.
The exceptions:
Kari Hitashi: Because Digimon.
Mimiru Tugai: Mimiru was because I liked Mimiro from .hack//sign, but spelt it wrong by one letter.
Yusuke was the MC's name of Step Mother's Sin. Don't even remember the last name as the last time I used this character was in a .hack RP on Tony's forum and I can't even go back and check because I'm pretty sure I don't have a link and Tony nuked all my posts.
Galem Blackheart: Galem was the name of a villain in a Neopets storyline ages ago and Blackheart was something I pulled out of nowhere for the Call of Cthulhu RP.
Yacoo Hogashi: Yacoo was a name I think was said at the end of Wu-Tang Clan's Gravel Pit.
Vega Ballentyne: Vega was the last name of one of the main characters in Pulp Fiction and Resevoir Dogs and Ballentyne was the first name of an alchemy using character in GrimGrimoire. I mostly chose it because it sounds like Valentine.
Xero Rotha: Xero was a name that came to me out of nowhere and Rotha is just Rothar a creature from both the Chaotic tv series and trading card game with the last r dropped.

| I first used her in a Bleach RP (you read right) ages ago on Dego's and someone said it was Mimiro. I didn't care and kept on truckin'. | |

| Okay let's see..
Ari Turmill - Ari is an anagram of Air, while Turmill is a merger of Tornado and Windmill, with an U instead of an O cause that's how it is pronounced.
Aera Turmill - Aera is a feminine form of Aero, the wind spell from FF. For Turmill, see above entry.
Allina Daelph - Allina I always liked and Daelph's because she is usually related to Light magic, and Delphi was the oracle of the greek god of the Sun, Apollo. Or something.
Razz Daelph - Razz is an anagram of 'Azr' from Azrael with an extra Z, and Daelph's because he is usually related to Fire magic, and Delphi was the oracle of the greek god of the Sun, Apollo.
Kee - Cause it sounds like Key, and his first appearance was in Kingdom Hearts.
Locke "Ark" Arkwright - Locke is cool, Arkwright was a famous inventor during the British industrial revolution.
Kelphy Colsun - Kelphy because of the Kelpie, a mythological water horse. Colsun was something Domino Trix came up with.
Olympe Espada - Olympe de Gouges was a french activist from the 18th century. Espada is 'Sword' in portuguese.
Crone Ubier - Crone is a demon from Christian demonology. Ubier is just something I came up with.

Implying it was random. Also,

| Yeah, that sounds a lot like you. And seeing as how you can never give coherent reasoning for the change, I'm gonna have to call it random. | |

Am I the only one who noticed that Zalera (which just HAPPENS to be "Arelaz" backwards, implying that it is also an anagram of the same archangel) is the name of the Death Seraph from FFXII, or did everyone else just already know the namesake?

| Zalera was also from the much better Final Fantasy Tactics. And yes, I knew about it. Also named after Azrael are the villain from Dogma & the cat from the Smurfs. | |

| Azena -- online-ego I created bout 5 years ago. He became leader of the Shadow Knights any place I brought them, with their origins being the Guardians stories I write. Made the name up.
Syrona -- Again, made up. She is another Shadow Knight from The Guardians, is Azena's girlfriend and usually his significant other in other stories. She's based off a girl I've known most my life.
Jade -- Name I'd give my daughter. She's very similar to Syrona, I usually use Jade for times I think Syrona wouldn't work, like a Digimon RP
Peter Jenkins -- Can be Azena's normal ego, in like Digimon, but is usually a separate person. He's based more on me than any other character. He originated from a psychological thriller I wrote, Shadow Games.
Samuel Young -- A more...interesting character. He's one that I use when I want a more silly and outgoing character, like he is in Golden Age. He originated from Shadow Games as Peter's best friend.

| Nope, don't like Yu. It's a thriller about a sleugh of murders that leave no evidence to the killer, but Peter Jenkins seems to be unable to shake the murderer. | |

| I demand to know where we go the idea for our characters from if at all. The idea came to me when Neon said that Chesed (personality wise and all that ilk) was because he based her off the children of Yammy House. | |

| Off the top of my head...
Aru is based on Kon from his introductory episodes when he was actually sort of badass.
Vise was Kadaj only not a loser.

| I'm afraid to know where this is going as you've never used the same character twice, so you could probably fill a goddamn notebook. | |

| I have a few constants I just don't really use them here. You'll see one of them in Golden Age if it gets revived. | |

| Most of my characters are kind of pop culture osmosis &/or Tropes incarnate.
At times, Senthose has shown traits from Kadaj, Orochimaru, Aizen, & Azula, that I can think of. He's also a Magnificent Bastard, a Psychologist Warrior, & a Complete Monster.
I don't even remember what Euryale's basis was, besides the Tropes Hot Amazon & Boobs of Steel.
Lilith was basically "Senthose if he was a woman & not a total douchebag." Also Lady of War.
Like you said, Chesed was partly influenced by the Wammy's House children. The rest of the Da'at are pretty much archetypes. Gevurah is the boisterous bruiser, Binah the wise matriarch, etc.
Seraph is totally the Joker & Kefka.
Roatha's actually pretty basic main character formula. Author avatar/relatable character.
Nero had roots from Riku &, well, Nero.
Again, not really sure what Barbatos & Aamon were, I just wanted a psychotic fallen warrior & a mad scientist.
Am I missing anybody? | |
