Old Ones Return (VI)

*Knightmon runs over to Cyberdramon and attempts to decapitate Lilithmon*

*Ornismon folds his wings in closer to his body and tries to avoid the fire before blasting Megidramon. Dianamon tries to put the former biohybrid to sleep before firing arrows at the Gizumon*

Angewomon flies to avoid the fireballs while MagnaAngemon fires Soul Banishers at the Gizumon.

Sakuyamon drops down to smash the Digi-Egg.

Strikedramon thrashes, clawing and kicking at Lilithmon.

*Lilithmon waves her free hand, summoning one of the giant ghost hands to bat Knightmon away. This allows Strikedramon to knock her off-balance.*

Th"What are you doing?! We're trying to SAVE them, remember?!"

*True to her word, she releases a light from the D-Power. Leviamon gives a great shout from within Mervamon, his voice fading away as his data exits her body. She falls limp as Lady Devimon flies over to assist with Lilithmon. From her vantage point of lying face-down in the sand, she looks to the battle as Thiera sets to healing her legs.*

Merv<What are you...doing to...Mistress Lilithmon...?>

*A sleeping Megidramon gets 1 of her wings blasted off & falls to the ground. Diaboromon leaps to grab her & then they both disappear into a portal. But with no one singing or helping Ceresmon, she would be lost if Bacchusmon & his cohorts didn't arrive from fucking nowhere to leap onto the D-Reaper Agent & start clawing at it while drunkenly bleating out out-of-tune notes, albeit to little effect, but enough for Ceresmon to crash land & begin forming a shield around herself. The Gizumon are handily defeated, but Daemon has flown away*

*Elsewhere, as Sakuyamon destroys the Digi-Egg, MetalGreymon grabs Malkuth & lifts him into the air.*

A<Give us 1 reason why we shouldn't destroy you.>

*He sneers in a manner not unlike his late mentor, Senthose Rasheverek.*

Malkuth<Tactically, it would be suicide. I am your best hope at gaining insight into Kurata's strategies, his hierarchy, his equipment, even his computer data.>

*MetalGreymon falls to his knees as he's blasted from behind by a fireball, a similar fireball hurtling towards Sakuyamon as Daemon lands in front of them.*

Daemon<Which is why nobody has any intention of allowing you to live. With you gone, it falls to either Vanessa or myself to lead the mercenaries, & Vanessa has already failed twice now.>

*Lyra comes over to help heal Mervamon. Knightmon gets right back up and charges Lilithmon, kicking at her*

*Dianamon and Ornismon add in their voices as well, Dianamon sounding much better than Ornismon. Upon seeing the Gizumon defeated, Dianamon flies after Daemon. Ornismon starts clawing at the eye ball*

Sakuyamon conjures up a shield to No Sell that fireball.

Angewomon and MagnaAngemon fly in pursuit of Daemon.

Strikedramon can still punch Lilithmon in the head or as it does, resorts to trackling her.

*Euryale is presently feeling rather lucky that she wasn't burned to death. She leans over to whisper into MetalGreymon's ear, looking shaken.*

E"Are--are you okay?"

A<Yeah, but I don't know how much longer I can keep this up.>

*She looks back.*

E"I...guess that we could try singing...not that it worked last time...."

*MetalGreymon swings his tail at Daemon, who rather effortlessly shatters it into data with a wave of his flaming hand. MetalGreymon roars & collapses, slowly degrading to champion level. As Euryale falls off of him, she moves towards Malkuth, wriggling out of his grasp, drawing her D-Power & cards as she goes. Malkuth, in turn, reaches for his gun. Off the coast, several converted Digimon are emerging.*

*Ornismon feels warmth flowing into himself, apparently from his mouth & ears, & his claws actually start doing some damage. The armored plates are destroyed pretty easily, but the eyes that Bacchusmon & Ornismon are attacking swivel to blast them. Those that aren't busy doing that blast away at Ceresmon's shield, heedless of the attacks thrown at them by rookie Digimon.*

*Lilithmon fends Knightmon off again, but again this causes her to fall victim to Strikedramon's attacks. Thus, she is punched & tackled.*

Th"Great, now hold her down!"

*Mervamon reaches out with her sword, but Beelzemon grabs her arm.*

Beelzemon<What're you doin'?!>

Merv<Protecting Mistress Lilithmon!>

*She slashes him across the chest. As he falls to his knees, Mervamon forces herself to stand, despite her own knees still being damaged. Lady Devimon turns around & growls.*

Th"Don't worry, I can handle this!"

Merv<Stand back! She is the rightful ruler of the Dark Area! Do NOT force me to resort to violence to defend her!>

*Lyra stops healing Mervamon and glares at her*

<Can't you see she's trying to murder us?!>

*Knightmon goes to help hold Lilithmon down*

Sakuyamon sics a fox spirit on that guy to disarm him.

Angewomon and MagnaAngemon fire arrows and Soul Banisher's at Daemon.

Strikedramon roars and struggles to keep the Demon Lord pinned. Under other circumstances, it'd probably bite into Lilithmon's face.

Merv<Because you fought with her. I know of your plan to purge her with the D-Power.>

*Thiera begins edging towards Lilithmon, hands up as she speaks to Mervamon.*

Th"She allied with Leviamon, who tried to destroy your kingdom & use you for his plans. She took control of your sister's body the same way. Do you honestly believe you should support her?"

Merv<What of it? We are but Mistress Lilithmon's humble servants, it is only natural that we should give ourselves to her resurrection. And don't take another step!>

*Lady Devimon starts towards Mervamon because the others appear to have Lilithmon handled. For her part, she struggles vainly.*

Lilithmon<You heard her. I am the rightful ruler of the Dark Area. What have you to gain by destroying me?>

*Once Malkuth drops his gun, Euryale tries to tackle him, but he grabs her forearms & pushes back, glowering at Euryale with a look of pure hatred. He also takes this time to spit in her face.*

Malkuth<To think that Senthose would fall to you, children who have to resort to nearly blowing themselves up to win a battle!>

*When she aims a knee kick at him, he shifts his weight, forcing her to the ground. Meanwhile, Daemon takes to the air, blocking with shields of fire.*

Daemon<You invite your own demise quarreling with me. Behold, the hoards of the deep--you cannot possibly hope to overcome them all!>

*He nods behind them to the countless converted Digimon crawling across the beach, the various Digimon converted from the attack on Neptunemon's stronghold.*

*Bacchusmon also leaps down to avoid being shot.*

<Think we can break one if we hit it at the same time?>

*Megidramon suddenly springs back to life, uncoiling from its slumber with a growl. The light emerging from its digital hazard symbol begins melting the rocks around it, including Ceresmon's shield. It launches a stream of fire at Bacchusmon.*

Angewomon fires arrows at Daemon while MagnaAngemon opens up Heaven's Gate to suck in the converted Digimon.

Sakuyamon drop kicks Malkuth.

*Knightmon continues helping to hold Lilithmon down*

Th"Lilithmon's data is not far removed from your own. The fact that your sister could take her form is proof of that."

Beelzemon<Way I hear it--I'm one o' these "Demon Lords" too--what's that mean...? What's any of it mean...? Didn't stop me gettin' my tail handed to me by the D-Reaper--or havin' to be saved by some pint-sized human girl, just like you....>

Lilithmon<Hold your tongue! I'll not have you inspire such arrogance in my slaves!>

*Large Venus Flytraps emerge to try to consume the D-Reaper agents. They are quickly destroyed, but some seeds apparently get into the cracks left by the Digimons' attacks, growing into vines that gradually break them apart. Megidramon twists out of the way & spits another blast of fire, using its wings to hurl magma towards them.*

*Meanwhile, Malkuth is sprawled onto the ground & reaches into his utility belt for more weapons. Daemon flies back & takes the opportunity to lob a few quick fire blasts at him. The converted Digimon just sort of go around the Heavens Gate, firing on the group when in range.*

*Lyra takes Thiera's hand to move her away from Mervamon encase she decides to attack*

<If you just do whatever the hell Lilithmon tells you to do without question, then she's 100% correct: you are a slave!>

*Dianamon creates a small ice shield to protect herself from the converted digimon's projectiles, then weaves around Daemon's fireballs to slash at him with her scythe*

*Ornismon flies around the magma before he flaps his wings to make a whirlwind to blow Megidramon out of the sky*

Sakuyamon kicks Malkuth's arm away. Although apparently being Wolverine, it's not going to do a lot of good.

The other two fire arrows and lasers.

Merv<Is there something wrong with that?>

Th"You claimed that Lilithmon was your natural ruler, but the data proves that isn't true. Observe."

*She holds out her D-Power. Mervamon tenses, expecting an attack, but what she sees is the readout stating, among other things, that she can reformat into a Lilithmon. She looks back towards her "Mistress" in confusion.*

Lilithmon<Utter nonsense! I will rebuild my Empire, with or without any of you in it!>

*Lilithmon uses her ghost hands to push against those holding her down with all of her might. She manages to get enough leverage to fire a blast at them with the Nazer Nail. Beelzemon aims his handcannon at her with the hand he's not using to hold his wound.*

Beelzemon<...I can't get a clear shot, the rest of you chuckleheads are in the way!>

*Malkuth glares up at her with intense hatred. Euryale tries to shield them all from the various attacks, but her D-Power's shield collapses easily & she's thrown back. Daemon dives down to dropkick Malkuth with flaming feet.*

Daemon<It's too late, you've already lost!>

*This may be true as the Converted Digimon which fall just find themselves absorbed by the hoard which is quickly surrounding the Tamers. Euryale races to the unconscious Greymon & starts nudging him. Hesitantly, she stats belting out cracked [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]. However, as she sings, her tone evens out & she becomes more successful at hitting the high notes.*

"If I...If I can get one wish, to come true right now, I want a pair of wi-ings! Please grant me white wings, on my back, like a bird!"

*Megidramon isn't in the sky, as they are now much closer to the ground. Bacchusmon spits some purple mist at her & the combined attacks knock her back. Ceresmon uses this opportunity to burst from its shield & take flight, dropping vines, one of which Bacchusmon grabs to be hoisted into the air. The Digimon on its back fire attacks at Megidramon, including the Sirenmon, who are still singing.*

*Dianamon flies down as well, using Goodnight Moon on Daemon and Malkuth. In the event she gets there first, Dianamon encases the lower half of Malkuth's body in ice and picks him up*

<If you can get Greymon to revert to Agumon I'll carry you both out of here!>

*Knightmon shields himself with his sword and moves in an attempt to give Beelzemon a clear shot*

Being face to face with the Demon Lord prompts Sakuyamon to swing their staff at it.

Angewomon & MagnaAngemon resume firing at things.

Strikedramon leaps away from Lilithmon.

"In this huge sky, I want to spread my wings and fly, towards the free sky, without any sadness, I want to flap my wings, and go..."

*Neither is afflicted by sleep, since they're not looking. Daemon catches her staff & uses it to push her over, also launching a fireball at her. He finds himself knocked over when Greymon opens his eyes & pushes Having rolled away, Malkuth survived, but the half of him that isn't frozen is now on fire.*

"I still dream of those things--Greymon, you're awake!"

A<We must escape, but not until Sakuyamon is safe!>

*Greymon struggles to push himself to his feet, & is blasted by a bunch of attacks as the numerous things bombing them are more than Angewomon & Angemon can destroy.*

*He waves at her as Ceresmon flies away & Megidramon slithers ever backwards, pinned down by all of the attacks.*

*Beelzemon opens fire with a few shots, but Lilithmon is able to shield herself, spring to her feet, & rocket into the air. Lady Devimon follows after her, stretching her arms to grab Lilithmon's wings. As they turn & tussle in the air, Thiera runs towards them again. Mervamon watches her, but makes no move to stop her.*

*Dianamon tries to put out the fire with some snow, then puts him over her shoulder and moves towards Euryale and Greymon*

*Ornismon continues firing on Megidramon while Ceresmon escape*

*Knightmon joins LD and Lilithmon in the air and attempts to grab Lilithmon*

Sakuyamon moves to avoid the fireball while Angewomon & MagnaAngemon resume their attacking.

Nothing Strikedramon can do at this point because no flying.

*Greymon reverts to Koromon & passes out, at which point Euryale picks him up.*

E"We have to leave, now!"

D<I will never allow that!>

*Daemon stands & waves his wings, blowing a wave of fire at them. In addition, the converted Digimon are now close enough that a fucking Whamon tries to jump on them.*

*As Ceresmon moves farther away, there are less attacks to keep Megidramon pinned down, so she starts firing back on Ornismon. Also, since she's still doing that thing where she destabilizes the Digital World, plumes of magma shoot up around them.*

*Lilithmon tries to strike with the Nazer Nail, but Beelzemon uses a Corona Blaster to damage her hand. Beelzemon reverts to Impmon & LadyDevimon pulls downward, where Thiera waits with her D-Power outstretched.*

*Knightmon helps pull Lilithmon down, while Lyra moves to join Thiera*

*Dianamon darts forward, creating a wall of ice around Euryale and Koromon, then grabs them and takes over back towards Ornismon*

*Ornismon soars high enough to avoid the magma and attacks*

We cannot let the chance to take out Megidramon once and for all get away!

*Shadows cover Ornismon as he shifts into burst mode. He then roars in anger and fires his now more power mouth laser at Megidramon*

Sakuyamon jumps and dropkicks Daemon.

MagnaAngemon uses Heaven's Gate on the mob in their grill.

*The Whamon gets its stomach stuck in the gate. As it wriggles around, Daemon waves his hand, blasting Sakuyamon with fire, cracking her armor, & knocking her to the ground, whereupon a bunch of corrupted Mermaimon & Octomon descend upon her as if to eat her.*

E"SAKUYAMON!"

*Daemon lobs more fire at the angels.*

*Megidramon burrows into the lava to evade. From behind Ornismon, Diaboromon re-emerges. Stretching its arms to wrap around the bird, it also fires a missile out of its chest at point-blank range. Moreover, the burning data collects above them & creates a static-y, electrified disturbance.*

*The light of Thiera's D-Power drives a spirit that looks much like the thing on Lady Devimon's shoulder from Minervamon's body, returning her to normal, only now in possession of the Medulla. The spirit screeches as it burns & evaporates into data. Minervamon promptly loses consciousness.*

Sakuyamon brings up a Talisman Sphere to block incoming attacks and repel the oncoming Digimon.

Angewomon & MagnaAngemon fly to avoid the attacks, Angewomon firing an arrow at Daemon while MagnaAngemon blasts the Whamon with Soul Banisher.
