Old Ones Return (VI)

*Lunamon goes over to hug Euryale's leg. Kotemon grips his sword tightly when Malkuth begins to speak*

Kylie:<She's right! We've all been through a lot, it's just that we don't all react the same way.>

Hitomi: "We all cope differently when dealing with pain. There is nothing to be ashamed of."

*Euryale is sitting cross-legged, so she frowns at this weird thing Lunamon is doing. Malkuth holds Eve in front of him & smiles at Kotemon over her shoulder.*

Gazimon<...Are we interrupting something? 'Cause, y'know, you called us.>

OOC: Lyra

*Kotemon stares right back. Lyra doesn't move or say anything*

Cameron:<Oh, err, right.>

*He looks at Thiera*

Hideki: "Why does he have her?"

Azuma: "That's a good question. What questionable things have you people been doing?"

Th"They made an arrangement with Malkuth to obtain inside information. Do not worry, we will be rid of him shortly."

*While she looks sideways at Hideki & Azuma, Euryale turns back to the Gazimon.*

E"We, uh, we need help."

Gazimon<Hep with what?>

E"Kurata's army is coming to the Village of Beginnings. We're trying to get everyone together to wipe him out before he wipes us out."

Gazimon<Jeez, lady, we just escaped from Etemon not too long ago, now you want us to go running right back to his friends?>

Azuma: "With a hostage?"

Lyra:<Why don't you explain your amazing plan that would have gotten us the information without me being held hostage? Since you're bitching about this one repeatedly, I assume you have one.>

*Lyra snarls this at Azuma*

Kylie:<We don't have much of a choice! We're really sorry!>

Th"This is not helping!"

Malkuth<Yes, I've noticed that you can't ever seem to work together, or come up with a decent plan.>

Th"She won't be going with him the entire way. Anyway, if we don't stop Kurata here, there might not be a Digital World left to save."

Gazimon<But if we get slaughtered, we won't be around to enjoy the world we saved anyway.>

*As they are coming close to the data stream, sitting on top of a high hill, Ceresmon begins to descend.*

Lunamon:<In both those cases, you end up dead! Wouldn't you rather go out trying to save the world than running and hiding?>

Kylie:<Not that you're doomed either way! If you fight, there's a chance we can all survive!>

Azuma: "You're going to trust that he'll turn her loose once he gets to his destination? We shouldn't be helping him, we should be-"

Hideki: "Bringing him to justice."

Gazimon<Not true. It's also possible that the Digital World will be fine either way, but if we fight, we'll die.>

Gekomon<Not like we're built for fighting anyway. We couldn't even save our home from a has-been & his fanboys.>

Th"Ceresmon can release Malkuth, but not Lyra. Then he will have no choice. And for now, both parties have a common interest to help each other to not die."

Gazimon<Looks like you guys aren't really all that together either.>

*Naturally, Thiera is now glaring at Azuma & Hideki. The data stream wobbles a bit as Ceresmon lands, shaking the ground.*

Lyra:<You think we wouldn't do that if we could? This wasn't exactly our go to plan.>

*Kylie moves in between Thiera and Azuma/Hideki, arms outstretched*

Kylie:<Let's not fight and get this over with, alright?>

Lunamon:<That chance is basically zero.>

*Thiera focuses her glare back on the Gazimon.*

Th"Then I don't think I can convince you."

E"What, that's it? You're just gonna let them be cowards & benefit from everyone else's sacrifice?"

Gazimon<Hey!>

Th"We don't have much time to argue. We have to get rid of Malkuth yet--"

Malkuth<Don't worry, I'm glad to leave. C'mon, girl.>

*He starts dragging her down the ramp that is Ceresmon's wing.*

Th"Then we still have to swing around to pick up the refugees, & we haven't even begun to form a defensive plan yet...."

*Lyra lets herself be dragged, while Kotemon follows behind them*

Cameron:<Uh, let's wait on the plan until we get rid of Malkuth.>

Hideki just watches as no one else sees how dumb of a plan that was.

*A couple feet from the data stream, Ceresmon's vines will stretch no farther. Malkuth smirks & turns to run into the data stream, but then several things happen in rapid succession: Ceresmon pulls Lyra back abruptly as a bang sounds, the ground near her feet explodes, & Malkuth drops, holding what's left of his shredded stomach as blood pours out from around his fingers. Infermon climbs over the other side of the hill, followed by a hoard of D-Reaper/Digimon Hybrids: They spot MadLeomon & several of each Mistymon, Minotaurumon, MameTyramon, & Orochimon. The data stream withers & shrinks up into the sky.*

Malkuth<You--how dare--you....>

Infermon<Hey, you think I WANTED to get stuck with such a nasty job? It's nothing personal. You shoulda known this would happen once you started blabbing.>

*Apparently intent on destroying Malkuth before he can be interrupted, he readjusts his mouth cannon & fires straight at Malkuth's head. This apparently acts as a signal, as the converted Digimon surge towards the Tamers. Euryale pulls Taiyo tighter to her, pressing her face into her shoulder. Euryale herself also looks away & squeezes her eyes shut. Thiera turns away, dropping & covering her ears due to the sound of the blast. Like Euryale, her eyes are watering.*

Th"Ceresmon, go back, Monitamon, contact Hypnos & Azulongmon again!"

*The ground gives a great shudder as Ceresmon flaps to follow the command. Elecmon shoots lightning into the hoards coming towards them. DemiDevimon Digivolves to Wizardmon & assists. Koromon rolls out in front of Euryale & Taiyo, Digivolving to Agumon & adding his Pepper Breath to the counter fire. Gomamon spits biting fishes at the hoard in a place they aren't covering. The Sirenmon begin [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] emitting notes that ricochet through the enemy forces.*

*Lyra screams as the ground near her explodes, then starts holding on tightly to the vines as Ceresmon begins to fly. Biyomon joins his Spiral Twister to Agumon's Fire, while Lunamon starts using Tear Shot on the hoard. Kotemon sets his sword on fire and waves it around, slashing at any digimon that come close to him*

Kotemon:<LYRA!>

*Cameron grabs Kylie and pulls her to the ground*

MagnaAngemon fires Soul Banisher against the hoard.

Yamaki<<What is it?>>Azulongmon

Th"We've been ambushed, we need support!"

*As they're firing at the hoard, Infermon launches herself towards Ceresmon, pulling his limbs inward & punching through her wing. Once he punches through, she lurches sideways & begins losing altitude. Infermon readjusts his aim & fires blasts at them all. Agumon warp digivolves to MetalGreymon, using its metal components to shield Monitamon, Elecmon, & the humans. Tsune & Gomamon assist, becoming Plediomon & letting loose with a blast of sound that harmonizes with the Sirenmon, surging, their attacks synchronizing into a burst that knocks him off-course & continues to batter him.*

D<Is it our turn yet?!>

Th"Someone has to monitor the Monitamon!"

*Biyomon digivolves to Saberdramon, who then takes to the air and soars around Ceresmon, providing cover fire for her to get away. Kotemon digivolves to Knightmon and flies down to get Lyra and bring her up with the other humans, while Lunamon becomes Lekismon and begin firing Tear Arrows at approaching digimon*

Those who haven't Digivolved do so and attack things.

*Renamon is able to progress to Kyubimon, but Monodramon, Gatomon, & Patamon are all able to progress to the highest levels they've obtained so far. Assuming they're attacking Infermon, & not something nowhere nearby, he shields himself by Digivolving, & lands as Diaboromon, a wicked grin spreading across his face.*

Diaboromon<We like it when our prey can't fight back.>

*He fires a blast out of his chest at the Digimon. Plesiomon tries to blast it away with water, but it barely loses momentum. The Sirenmon fly away, using their paralyzing song on the other enemy Digimon.*

D<Well, while you do your computer stuff, I'm going to fight!>

*Wizardmon leaps to Plesiomon's side, Digivolving to LadyDevimon. Adding her darkness claw, the duo are able to successfully send Diaboromon's attack back at him. MetalGreymon flies to his side to flank him, in the hopes of preventing his escape. Meanwhile, tree roots emerge from the hole in Ceresmon's wing, repairing the damaged spot, a carpet of moss covering it like a bandage. As a result, she is able to gain altitude again. Euryale steps out in front of Taiyo, swiping her Gorgon Armor card.*

*Once he sets Lyra down, Knightmon flies around with MetalGreymon in an attempt to flank Diaboromon. He sends an energy blast from his sword. Saberdramon flies down to pick up Lekismon, who continues pelting Diaboromon with Tear Arrows. Cameron and Kylie move towards the Monitamon, while Lyra remins where she is*

They begin blasting Diaboromon with whatever ranged attacks are available to them.
