The further she gets from the hole in the alley, the less light there is, so she can't see further down the tunnel.

June went back to the cement and called up in a hushed yell, "Looks all clear down here guys... well, I can't see much, but nothing killed me yet."

*Ven leans in & sniffs her, baring her rather frightening canines.*

"And how did you find that out? Why were you so interested in Grapevine?"

*Artemis approaches the hole, grabbing her rope arrow as she speaks.*

"Yeah, but if you can't tell us where they went, there's not much we can do, is there? It has to be like a maze down there."

*She just kind of drops an end of the rope down while holding the other & braces herself to pull June up.*

June grabbed the rope and was presumably hauled up, "Any more degrading jobs for me?"

<Was it that bad?>

*She gestures at Artemis*

<This was Shoot-girl's big idea, so I guess she's the boss.>

*Eve takes a step back, still holding up her hands*

<The name was posted on the Grapevine. I was on a college tour with my parents and Thiera and Aroma happened to be our tour guides. Why wouldn't I want to meet her? Thiera's done much around here.>

"Well, I jumped into a sewer. Even if it didn't stink that's still just a gross concept," June shook her head and slid a flask out of her pocket to down some of its liquid courage.

"In my defense, I didn't actually tell you to jump IN. And I pulled you out. Can't forget that. But I guess if we can't hear anything, there's nothing going on here anymore. And I don't see any clues left behind. And my eyesight's pretty damn good."

June put the flask carefully away, "All in a day's work."

Amanda:<So, shall we go bum around at Shoot-girl's house?>

Eve:<In your place, I wouldn't trust me ether.>

"Maybe Shoot-Girl could buy us pizza or something, too," June suggested.

"I used all of my money for the cab, but I might be able to convince my parents to buy. But don't you...."

*After she trails off, she shakes her head.*

"Nevermind."

*Ven turns to Aroma, who looks conflicted.*

V"I suggest we go find Thiera. Without her."

"Finish the thought."

Eve:<Give me a chance to prove my trustworthiness to you. Or, at least, let me meet with you again.>

Amanda:<Wait, does that mean we're walking?!>

*She pats June on the shoulder*

"No, you'll just think it's stupid."

*She shrugs.*

"I don't know. Either that or find a bus, I guess."

*Aroma makes a squeaking noise.*

V"What?"

*Aroma steps back, wringing her hands & looking around shiftily.*

A"Well...it's just that...I mean...I think that...Thiera's gonna want to--uh--investigate her anyway. I think, I mean, I don't really know!"

*Ven looks off to the side, scowling.*

V"...Fine. But we meet with Thiera without her first."

<Well, I sure as hell don't want to walk back. Let's hit a bus stop.>

"Okay then," June agreed to the consensus, then looked conspiratorially back at Artemis. "I still want to hear what you were going to say. Promise I won't laugh."

V"...Fine."

*As they're walking, Artemis folds her arms behind her back, looks at the ground, & kicks a rock.*

"(I'm...still a bit worried about Grapevine....)"

"That's not stupid," June smiled fondly, then gestured back at the hole in the ground. "...But I think we've established there isn't anything we can do. Not right now, anyway."

Eve:<Ok, it's [Eve's cell phone number].>

*She says it slow enough to let whoever enter it into their contacts or whatever*

*Amanda mutters under her breath as she walks*

*She looks up at the sky, folding her hands behind her head*

<At least that was more interesting than shopping in the same stores for the millionth time.>

*Ven pointedly does not do this, instead crossing her arms & snarling at Eve. Aroma does so reluctantly, casting furtive glances at Ven.*

"At least we tried.Who knows, maybe I'll run into her one of these nights I'm on patrol."

"Maybe she recruits you there and then to be her sidekick," June suggested. "Maybe she's observing us right now. Bet she's impressed with my sewer-diving skills."

OOC: No one is impressed by that.

Three people emerge from the sewers, one moving to the edge of the alley, checking that there's no one present to witness the other two and the half dead man they're carrying. The one checking for witnesses appears as a white guy with a fondness for leather gloves while the other two wear face coverings to conceal their identity and for once Saifullah is not wearing his bomber jacket while the other is decked out in heavy black clothing.

Assuming the three have turned a corner, they head towards the van or wait if they haven't.

Amanda:<I'm sure she'd love to have a pet puddle of water around.>
