Abyssal Blade Rebellion

The gears of catastrophe are starting to move. As Sin continues its millenial rampage, a group of Crusaders have become discontented with the Yevon Clergy. Calling themselves the Abyssal Blades, they have headquartered themselves along the Mi'ihen, Djose, & Macalania Roads, battling the loyalist Crusaders & the Djose Chocobo Knights. Their goal is to destroy the Pilgrimage, the very foundation of Yevon. Worse yet, such a large volume of Spirans inevitably draws Sin, which was last seen headed towards Bevelle. Will Yevon survive destruction at the hands of traitors & demons? Or are there hidden phantoms to be afraid of?

*Zeno looks over the group he's encountered.*

Zeno: <Heya there.>

*Hitomi leaves walking along said phantom wall.*

*Luna absent-mindedly puts a hand on Hitomi's shoulder.*

"Oh. Hello. Did you hear about those ex Crusaders?"

Zeno: <Nope. But I DID hear about a ruined tower back on the Highroad not too long ago. Irrelevant, but still something I've heard about.>

*Hitomi stops and glances over her shoulder at Luna*

"No."

*Max panics.*

"The crusaders? Who are they?"

"I did hear something about those rebels. Some crusaders lost faith, I guess... Max, relax a little."

"I...don't really know too much myself. I was just told about a group of Crusaders that went rogue. Since you were on the highroad, I was hoping you'd know something...you don't think they'll try to disrupt pilgrimages, do you?"

"Do you want to let go of my shoulder?"

"If they try I'll cut them down."

*Zeno shakes his head.*

Zeno: <If you're on a pilgrimage, it looks like you've got plenty of Guardians to back ya up.>

*Luna removes her hand.*

"Sorry, I just--umm...well, feel like--so, what about you? Are you going our way?"

Zeno: <I go wherever I'm needed.>

*He shrugs.*

"We always can use more help."

Zeno: <You guys look pretty acccompanied as it is. Do you have use for a Soulscribe?>

"A Soulscribe? Wow, haven't seen one of you in a long time. How many fiends have you killed?"

Ark: <A Dark Knight? Luna, aren't we gonna have to go to D'jose so you can pray at the temple? Maybe we should just stop now, it's not that big a deal.>

*Hitomi wanders off because for a group supposed to be on some all important journey they sure spend a lot of time standing around talking.*

*While no one's looking, a Crusader patrolling the road grabs Hitomi, covers her mouth, & dives down to the lowroad.*

"How can you say that? It's a huge deal! If we don't stop Sin, he'll just keep attacking. We've been lucky for the past few years, but soon enough, he'll be after Guadosalam or Djose or Bikanel or even Bevelle."

"Maybe there's a way to kill Sin for keeps this time. While we're on the Pilgrimage we should start investigating a method to do so" Zephyr scratches his chin.

Ark: <Yeah, and if we can't think of something, Luna completes her pilgrimage and dies! Maybe we could stay here and play blitzball, just until those evil Crusader guys are gone.>

Zeno: <You guys sound awfully content as is. You think you'd need me with this oh so happy family you've got going on here?>

*He grins snarkily.*

*Hitomi squirms and tries to wriggle away from the Crusader, biting its hand.*
