~Story~
It is December 31, 2011 (derp) & life proceeds more ordinarily than usual. The only thing that sticks out in the news is that the European Historical Society recently shelled out a small fortune in funding a seemingly random investigation of a piece of the Atlantic near the British Isles.

The first week of January, 2012, private sailors report an uncharted island & strange arboreal lights. The UN & EU governments denounce these tales, directing ships away from this region, saying that it will interfere with the expedition.

As January comes to an end, stories of lights, creatures, & strange disappearances encircle the globe. However, most people disbelieve these stories, saying that they are the product of paranoia about the date.

Our story begins on Valentines Day in a school in a small town near Sydney, Australia. But things are still quiet. Over the next few weeks, several new students join. They, along with some of the older ones, are now out of school more than they are in it. Word has gotten out that they're often abroad, due to being generously given unlimited free flight from the billionairess Thiera Psyche, the principal allegedly tolerating it so long as they write research papers on the countries they visit.

On the world stage, natural disasters seem to be becoming more frequent. In Tibet, a massive explosion causes an avalanch. In Hawaii, Mt. Pele nearly erupts after a Magnitude 5 earthquake. Most recently, in South America, the rain forest of Brazil catches on fire.

It is now late April, & back in that small town near Sydney Australia, something is about to happen that finally brings these quiet whisperings into the limelight....

Status: I don't know, lower-middle class? Does odd jobs around town, mow lawns, paint fences, and other migrant worker things. Without the migrant.
Religion: Shows interest in Buddhism, but doesn't practice it.
Age: 19
Bio: Living in a crappy, one bedroom apartment after his brother moved out to live with his finacé. Doing odd jobs around town to pay rent, bills, and other neccesities as well as save money for travelling he has little to no freetime. At least until Mimiru drags him out somewhere all the while claiming there's nothing romantic between the two.
Other: This is stupid.

Name: Mimiru Tugai
Appearance: Around 5"6', thin with some muscle in the bicep and tricep area, shoulder length brunette hair, brown eyes, padlock on a barbed wire looking chain necklace with A&M in a heart engraved on it, white wool fingerless gloves, black zip-up hoodie over top a white tank top, black jeans with a black and pink checkerboard pattern belt, black sneakers
Status: Lower middle class, works as a stock person at a grocery store.
Religion: Has an interest in Norse mythology, but doesn't practice anything of the sort
Age: 18
Bio: Azuma's best and only friend since elementary school where was the only person to introduce herself to him because "she felt sorry for him and nothing else". Azuma's brother gave the two the nickname Jet Boy & Jet Girl because it sounded good. She lives in a crappy apartment building next door to Azuma's with her grandmother while her mother works overseas where she's been working since her ex-husbands death three years ago.
Other: Her grandmother's one of those scary home remedy types.

Name: Ricky Sanchez

Religion: Never really cared for religion. Figured there was some higher being, but not one of the many to choose from.

Bio: Ricky grew up a normal kid that learned the value of lies and drugs. He has been a very successful dealer, but doesn't let his money get to him. He lives in a decent 2 bedroom apartment and doesn't go out much. He tries to avoid attention from the cops but sometimes just can't seem to get away from them. Thankfully, he has a lot of illegal cotacts that can keep him safe when the heat is on.

She's usually kind of random and she tends to talk too much, but she's a very cheerful and social girl. Her older brother is one of her best friends, and she also really likes their black cat, Kee.

Status: Lower middle class, works at a store similar to Hot Topic, because that's the only job I can see him holding down.
Religion: Atheist.
Age: 17.
Bio: Grew up in the United States, but moved in with a friend in Australia when he had the money, basically just because. As he showed up in the middle of his graduating year, he's something of an outcast.
Other: I think Nero might be my least favorite character.

I'd hate a character to if I dressed them in My Chemical Romance clothing.

Aiden recently took control of the family's vast collection of wealth and put it to good use funding cultural and historical expeditions all across the globe but is much more well known for those in the European front. The current lock on such expeditions by the British Historical Society has him in a tizzy but unable to fight back. Thus he is now focusing on his music career which had been only something in the background till this point. Currently in Australia because he feels like shaking up the status quo in his family. To this end he enrolled himself in a public school.

Appearance: Bronze skin, ample chest, shoulder-length red hair, yellow eyes.
Status: Unemployed, has an allowance from the orphanarium.
Religion: Greco-Roman, to much ridicule.
Age: Apparently 18.
Bio: There aren't very many records of Euryale in the public eye. Official records say she was raised by the Psyche Foundation for Orphaned Children, enrolled in a public school for her senior year. She has been diagnosed with post-traumatic stress of some kind, & it's warned that making up bizarre stories--such as memories of being a monster--are just a symptom of hers.
Powers: She has strength greater than what is considered normal for a girl her age. She also occasionally has oracular visions.

Powers: Riastrad (Warp Spasm) {Currently Inactive Ability} -A "Gift" from the person from whom his family descended from. It is a berserker fury cranked up to eleven. It starts with black colored lines extending from his yellow colored eye that crawl across his skin slowly engulfing his person and turning his visage into something like that of an obsidian skinned monster. His strength and endurance multiply exponentially but he loses the ability to distinguish friend from foe until he can be calmed or until his battle lust subsides.
Objects: Gae Bulg - The spear of Cu Chulainn though the weapon's fearsome power has diminished over time due to the weapon breaking and needing to be reforged. It has lost most of its old properties but once it enters the body of someone only the thrower can remove the weapon.

Powers: She can cast white magic to heal wounds, attack, create anti-melee and anti-magic barriers, cause someone to grow light wings, and fight with the silver rapier that once belonged to princess Kelphy Pendragon Colsun.
Objects: Opal Necklace - She wears an opal around her neck that can absorb and store light that can later be released. Like a flashlight that also works as a smokescreen.

Considering Aiden is a collector of the strange, if Neo permits it, if anyone needs magical artifacts and weapons he can be used as a Deus Ex Machina for them.

Powers: Think Iceman without all the amazing. Controls water vapor in the air and freezes it shaping it into various objects such as needles. The more water vapor the more of something he can make/stronger he can make it to at least three inches thick if it's a wall.
Objects: Caladbog. An Irish two-handed sword said to have made a circle like an arc of a rainbow when swung. When held to a persons throat, it is impossible for them to tell a lie.
Other: This is stupid.

Appearance: 5'5", normal thin, long brunette hair tied in twintails with pom-pom hairties, brown eyes, black collar with a silver bell around her neck, cropped purple long-sleeve shirt with a cartoon cat on the front, silver belly chain with heart-shaped links, cut-off denim shorts with black bikini strings sticking out the sides, pink flip-flops and sparkly blue nail polish on her toes & fingernails.
Status: Upper-middle class. Works as a sales person at a lingerie store.
Religion: Profoundly undecided.
Age: 17
Bio: A new student at school. She's unashamed of her choice in clothing figuring that so long as she likes it, who cares what others think? Her family moved to Australia due to her father being some kind of business man and she took a liking to the place due to its warm weather despite the wildlife being absolutely horrifying.
Powers: Water equivalent to Azuma's powers.
Objects: Lance of Longinus. A bi-dent (because the Evangelion appearance is cool) said to have pierced the side of Jesus Christ and be able to immobilize beings of god-like power. The two ends can intertwine into a single tighly woven corkscrew-like point.
Other: Can't get more mythological than religious jibber jabber.

Name: Ren Liang
Appearance: Hair is naturally black in color but dyed blue.

Ren:

Status: Middle-class, unemployed (and liking it).
Religion: Agnostic atm, unsure where he falls.
Age: 17
Bio: There isn't much to tell about him. Was born in America but his family moved back to China to take care of some sick relative. Fell in love with old Kung Fu movies and by some random chance happened upon a small and out of the way dojo where he learned Da Sheng Men, a variation on Monkey Kung Fu, and some of its branch styles. He also picked up a bit of Le Parkour from the son of some tourists that were staying in the hotel next to the clothing store he use to work at. Use to because he quit having been fed up with his boss being a fuckless layabout. Now he pretty much does whatever he wants within reason outside of going to school.
Powers: When he comes to understand the powers lying dormant in him Ren will be able to summon forth the Wu Xing, the five classical Chinese elements of Fire, Wood, Earth, Metal, and Water. He will be able to use these elements to attack and defend with. It will start small but as more and more of his latent ability unlocks his prowess over the Wu Xing will increase.
Objects: None yet, maybe he'll get some later.
Other: On the Da Sehng Men styles he is most proficient with Wooden Monkey and the eponymous Drunken Monkey styles; least proficient with Tall Monkey style (as he' not tall enough to use it effectively being 5'6" and all); and he's decent with Stone Monkey and Lost Monkey styles.

Name: Lune Requile (though he has gone by many names throughout the ages that have past. Currently he goes by the name Justin Blanche)
Appearance: Blond hair, crystal blue left eye, missing his right eye and covers it with a black eyepatch that usually bares some sort of symbol on it which changes between eyepatches. There's a small scar that runs vertically over his eyesocket which holds a glass eye in it. He dresses in modern clothing, typically blacks, grays, and dark blues.

Lune Face:

Status: Middle class (technically higher but for obvious reasons that isn't divulged), up and coming writer.
Religion: Doesn't say
Age: He's from the time of Camelot, figure it out. He doesn't look a day older than 18 however.
Bio: See Golden age ruin for original bio.
After the battle at Avalon and the sealing of magic Lune and the others went to Germany. It was there Lune discovered he had stopped aging. Deciding it was his duty to ensure the past was never lost and to fulfill his vow he laid low. He had stayed with Kelphy and the others till the last of them died before moving on. He went into seclusion but wrote poetry and short stories under various pseudonyms through the ages. At one point he participated in the War of the Roses but it was only a minor role after which he vanished from history.

Well until recently that is. On a whim he had wrote the story of his friends and their journey down. Or rather, he typed it up and posted it on a public writing site. He had no idea that a publishing company would chance upon it and contact him. They wanted him to turn it into a novel that they would fund and publish. When it was published it became a runaway hit. Once more Lune, now going by the name Justin Blanche, had been thrust into the public.
Powers: Lune has the power to use a sort of wind like magic. Its mostly linked to cutting things and moving ungodly fast however this isn't the only magic he possess but is currently the only magic he has access to.
Objects: I'll fill this out when he gets his sword out of storage.
Other: He's back.

Name: Roatha Arelaz
Appearance: Wears a red cloak & clothes that look like they're from the 6th century. Has white skin, green eyes, & unkempt brown hair.
Status: Still poor as dirt & with virtually no identity.
Religion: Atheist.
Age: Not a day older than he was in Ruin.
Bio: Titania left Avalon to avoid being frozen, but Oberon's regenerating soul still resides there. As such, it's been making it difficult to explore the island. However, "they" still managed to capture a few specimens. Among them, a boy who calls himself "Roatha." Unfortunately, very little of anything else he says can be understood, & he became enraged to find that he was being held prisoner. One day he broke free, swinging a sword that fired lightning at his would-be captors, & disappeared into the Australian wilderness. He's been reported as an escapee from an insane asylum.
Powers: None.
Objects: The Sword in the Stone. Bewitched by Merlin to "assist the wielder." So far, it has demonstrated the ability to teleport the wielder, as well as to absorb & return harmful magics.
Coat made from wool & Salamander skin, giving it extreme resistance to flames. It requires fire hot enough to melt metal to damage it. In other areas, it's about as tough as leather, but with the flexibility & warmth you'd expect from wool or cotton.
Other: He speaks in incomprehensible gibberish.

Objects: Gladius reforged from the remains of Lilith's sword. Offers enhanced speed, strength, & healing, but only at night.

Name: Ari Turmill

Appearance:

Status: Formerly a noble, now poor and technically unexisting.
Religion: Atheist
Age: 18
Bio: Back in the 6th century, he lived in a country house surrounded by a few ha of forest that were his family's property. He lived with his mother, his sister, two maids, and a butler. His parents were from the lower class until his father proved his valor in battle and was accepted into knighthood. A few weeks before Ari's birth, his father, not too well accepted among nobles, died in battle. His mother was a skillful wind magician, ability she inherited from her ancestors. Ari kept trying to follow in his father's footsteps and eventually became a squire, at the age of 12. He trained at a local academy, and later became Lilith Psyche's apprentice, accompanying her in several adventures for Arthur Pendragon and Camelot. He was thrown into the sea by Seraph during the final battle against the evil trio, when attempting to aid Kelphy, Arthur's niece. He was saved by the sea nymphs, something only Kelphy knew about. Living in their sanctuary for hundreds of years, he barely aged, and only looks about 5 years older. Now older and after all that time there, his body has a larger concentration of magic, and his skills have improved a tad, though he isn't used to using them any more. He is very shy and tends to be really quiet, but is in fact a caring, friendly person, now more mature.
Powers: Ari can control wind, using it to propel himself for high jumps or running at high speed, levitating things and attacking in general. He can also condense it so as to make himself invisible, though not in any way intangible.
Objects: 6th century Icebrand greatsword - His sword.

I'm strongly considering joining this RP, however I am not really sure of the story/how to play etc...

So if somebody would like to enlighten me, please do so.
