City of Amnesia

"Show me your ID, now." Luna says as she picks up another head sized rock and holds it ready to throw off the pile.

*She gets on all fours & starts growling.*

T"If you say so."

*Thiera puts a flashlight into its corresponding well in the briefcase.*

L"I can see in the dark. For miles, if there are no obstacles. With 20/20 vision."

T"That's nice."

*When he arrives, he sees that the clock tower is somehow still working. But it's an hour behind.*

*Gelu Chalybs stops in front of the clocktower and Vega climbs out heading to the base of the clocktower looking for a door or something.*

Zell sees Thiera put a flash light into her bag and said, "Do you have another one of those, I would hate to get lost and hate even more to get lost without a light source."

"What the hell is wrong with you?" Luna is a bit taken back by the girl's apparent retardation and raises the rock above her head so if she needs to, she can lob it into her enemy's face.

T"Since Lilith can see in the dark, I only bought one. I suppose we could get another while we're out, if you're that worried."

L"That should not be necessary. If you get lost, I can locate you."

*There is a door at the base of the tower, but it's buried in sand. Grafittied above it is the phrase "Cast in the name of God ye not guilty."*

"I would prefer to have a flashlight, I don't want to burden you to badly Lilith." Zell said.

[That's the same thing that voice said... Should I try saying my name or that things name and see what happen?]

*After staring at the tower he clears his throat before speaking.*

"Gelu Chalybs?"

"I'd like to see your identification, please" Luna spoke with mock-joy, frowning deeply as she spoke, "As in, evidence of your service with the police and your name."
Even if this girl wasn't a security risk she deserved to have her head beaten in, Luna thought.

<Oh.>

*She pulls out a driver's license.*

<Don't mind the smudges. I ran over it with my car.>

*A tumbleweed rolls by.*

L"Would you like me to carry you down the tunnels so you're extra secure?"

"I'd also like evidence of your working with the police..."

"Vega Ballentyne?"

Zell paused, "Not particularly, unless you really want to."

*A sudden gust of wind causes the tumbleweed to come flying back & hit him in the face.*

*After they stop to get a flashlight, Thiera parks near the tunnel entrance.*

T"Shit, those are cop cars. God damn it."

L"What do you want to do?"

T"Not get strip-searched by Vera's goons. I have a pretty good idea of where the chamber is. We'll drive to its corresponding location above ground & use sonar to see if there's some kind of back door. Once we have the results, we'll come up with a plan."

"You're an idiot, if you are a police officer you will have papers on you, show 'em now" Luna is still holding the rock ready to take the girl out, "You could have stolen that uniform."

Zell checked to make sure the flashlight worked. It did, and with a shrug she put it away. "Dodging the police now, are we?" Zell chimed in.

<How could I have stolen one in the right size? DUH.>

T"I've already aimed a gun & a lawsuit at them."

*She starts the car & drives off.*

Zell chuckled a bit, "Sounds like you lead an adventurous lifestyle." She said, looking out the window of the car.

*Batting the tumbleweed away, he returns to his Megadeus, starts it up and sticks a finger through the clock face.*

Luna sighs, "Get out and bring one of the other guys down here. Now."

<Other guys? But I'm a girl.>

*Regardless, she goes up & gets another officer, a guy with red hair & sideburns.*

<You have some trouble down here?>

*Needless to say, it stops working. He now sees a bunch of gears & smashed-up rubble inside the tower.*

T"Retirement shouldn't be boring."

*She stops the car, removing her cuff links. Pressing them to the ground, they drill into it. She then motions towards Lilith, who carries the briefcase over, setting it down & opening it. Thiera starts fiddling with something inside.*

T"It looks like the collapse caved in a wall in one of the other tunnels. We should be able to get to the rubble pile from the other side. But on foot, it would take about 7 hours. So we just won't go on foot."

*Gelu Chalybs finger remains in the face of the clocktower and Vega climbs out and makes his way to the extended arm. He straddles the arm as best as one can straddle a giant robot arm and shuffles a long till' he's close enough to be able to climb inside the clocktower.*

Zell chuckled, "Well then, you'll have to teach me the correct way to retire, mine was boring enough that I signed a contract to paint without even knowing what to paint." With that Zell got out of the car and followed along, observing Thiera and Lilith do their little thing. "How exactly can you be sure?" She asked, "It just looked like you drilled into the ground slightly with your fancy cuff links."

"Yes, now, after you can tell me if that idiot is a policewoman or not, I'd like you to help me clear away all of this rubble... it shouldn't take long."

Luna is still throwing rocks to either side of the pile.

<Unfortunately. We sent her down because we didn't want to deal with her.>

*He starts shifting rocks. A minute or so later, they find out that, surprise surprise, there's nothing under them.*

*She turns the briefcase around. In the top is a screen that shows what looks like the abandoned subway tunnels underneath.*

T"It's a form of sonar. Let's me know what I'm dealing with before I start digging, or get lost underground."

*There's not much point in this because, again, it's basically a solid wall of gears & rubble inside.*
