The War of Paradigm City

*Topaz is woken up by some asshole crashing along the beach. When she opens her eyes, she sees a Megadeus reminiscent of Basilisk, but more of a lizard. It has reared up on 2 legs, & each of its 4 legs ends in a 3-fingered golden claw. One crackles with electricity & it strikes the ruins of a sky scraper, which literally turns to dust in a matter of moments. It continues on into the city.*

*Lilith grabs Zell & Thiera & is on Basilisk's neck in a single leap. Thiera opens a secret compartment & slips in. There are no controls, but there is a chair & a large viewscreen. When it flicks on, they see the same thing above.*

T"That...looks like trouble."

L"Call the other Megadeuses."

T"I will. But not here. We need to get into the open air. Or at least a subway tunnel with very little under it."

Tipheret<It's showtime. Get back to your Megadeus.>

*She sits up and yawns before noticing her brother and remembering what had happened. She just sits there staring at his closed eyes.*

"Understood."

*She returns the way she came back to the hangar where she boards Kanrei Tsuki.*

Zell looked on, "Here we go again, who is controlling this one?"

*When Basilisk gets to the hangar floor, the other 2 Megadeus burst out of it. They also see Kanrei Tsuki start up.*

T"I don't know. But this one is bad. It doesn't look particularly durable, but those claws...."

Zell nodded, "Right, avoid claws." She said, moving to get into her Megadeus. Once inside Mirror Zero Zell let out a long sigh, "I've had a hell of a week, but I don't think you want to hear about me droll on, so lets get this taken care of, huh Mirror Zero."

*Kanrei Tsuki leaves the hangar heading to the surface.*

*They walk out into the streets like the cast of some action movie. Once they get outside the dome, they see the Megadeus reduce an apartment complex to dust in a matter of seconds.*

*Hanging back, Kanrei Tsuki raises its rifle and fires at the Megadeus.*

Now Zell shoots lasers at it.

*It holds up a claw, the rifle round turning harmlessly into sand that falls over its claw. The lasers are also cancelled out by the energy emitted by the claw. It then charges towards them, roaring like a dragon.*

*Kanrei Tsuki moves from its path and continues firing aiming for its head.*

*Vega enters his apartment and flops down on the couch.*

[I miss my mattress.]

Zell strafes right, launching more lazers.

*It cancels both of these attacks exactly the same way. Basilisk quickly burows underground as it reaches out for the arm of Lilith's Megadeus, the eye lasers bouncing harmlessly off of Leviathan's armor.*

Mirror Zero extends its energy blade, and darts off towards Leviathan, aiming to take away one of its hind legs, while avoiding its claws.

*Kanrei Tsuki continues to put distance between itself and the others, firing at the elbow region of the Leviathan.*

*Lilith carves off her Megadeus's arm as it turns to sand & sacrafices the other arm to put a crack in Leviathan's chest. This time, it uses the eye laser to cut it off. Before it can finish her, it grabs the energy blade with one of its hind claws & turns to grab Mirror Zero. Basilisk's tail emerges from behind it, firing electricity into its tail.*

*Kanrei Tsuki continues firing at the Leviathan returning to firing at its head.*

The blade, being a blade, slices free as Mirror Zero pulls away, firing lazers as it does.

*All of the hits connect, unfortunately, they don't pierce its armor. Basilisk re-enters the ground, so it stabs the street, which rapidly starts converting into sand, exposing the subway below & causing buildings to fall in.*

Zell tries to behead the thing as it is stabbing the ground from behind.

*Kanrei Tsuki ceases firing and waits for an opportunity to pursue the Megadeus.*

*It cracks the armor of the neck, but the Leviathan quickly lashes out at Mirror Zero's foot with one of its own foot claws. Basilisk emerges from behind Mirror Zero, chargin' its lazah.*

Mirror Zero uses its thrusters to strafe to the side, and avoid the foot, presumably giving Basilisk a better shot.

*There no longer being a need to pursue the Megadeus, Kanrei Tsuki goes back to firing, aiming at the base of the claws.*
