Golden Age: Revival

"I am no thrill seeker. I want nothing more right now than to be in my own home, free from all this... supernatural magic. Until a few hours ago I thought I was the only one with powers, then I got attacked, then I got yelled at, and now I'm on a giant bird being talked to by a Knight of the Round!" Noctis gesticulated with her hands as she talked. "Please, if you have a way to return me home, do so. I want no part of some magic war... I'm no soldier, nor witch, I just want to be normal."

N"...We're going to wind up dead. All we're doing is making it slower."

<Once you've heard the calling, you can never be normal again. I'm certain you've been told as much before.>

"Only three people died so far and there's a good chance we'd be dead sooner if they were still alive. Remember that."

[That wasn't reassuring at all.]

"And I'm as unbelieving now as I was then. I don't mean to be rude, you're a good man from what I understand, chivalrous, so why would you force a lady to war when she doesn't want to?"

*Allina arrives home, shouts that she's back, and heads upstairs into her room to lie face down on her bed. After a while she slowly raises her head and looks at the door to see Razz standing next to it.*

Allina: <Stop. Doing that.>

Razz: <Where did you go this time?>

*Allina drops her head again, the bed muffling her voice.*

Allina: <Anything weird on the news today?>

Razz: <...No.>

Allina: <No where important. Kee's been stalking me. He was even at grandpa's, somehow. And I think he ate my duck.>

Razz: <Nice.>

*Razz walks out and she groans before rolling over and falling asleep.*

Kyoujin got home and went straight to her room. She came back to the living room she had left Luna in with a blanket and a pillow.
"You can sleep here... it'll be safer than going back to that little house..." Kyoujin spoke very quietly.
"Thanks, Kyoujin" Luna smiled, "I appreciate this. Where's the kitchen?"
"The closest kitchen is in the next room" Kyoujin answered, pointing at a white door, "You can take what you want from there... if anyone wants to know who you are, tell them to come and ask me. I'm off to bed now."
"Alright... sleep well."

<It is not my choice. Do you think Mordred distinguished between victims when he attacked Camelot?>

N"And you heard Thiera, that's without them taking us seriously. We're outmatched. By far."

"Mordred was the bad guy, aren't you supposed to be the good?" Noctis asked. "I just want to go home, I'll leave the fighting to the actual Knights."

"So we're doing the impossible. That's wonderful. And save all this thinking about dying for battle and you'll survive. Or however the phrase goes."

<You aren't very bright, are you? Well, if it helps, I came up here on a ley line.>

*Nero walks off. Presumably towards wherever he lives, but who knows?*

*Allina throws her pillow out the door and Kee meows loudly out in the hallway.*

[I wish I wasn't so terrible at making friends. I'm just trying to help, but they always end up getting mad... Maybe I could try to do something nice. I was mean to Aidaac and now...]

*She falls asleep once more.*

*The two continue on their own way.*

"Can't say I didn't try."

*The two stand outside their respective apartment buildings.*

"Take it easy, all right?"

Mimiru:<Stop worrying about that, it's fine.>

"I'm allowed to worry once in awhile, aren't I?"

*She grabs his collar and pulls him really close.*

Mimiru:<Just this once, mutt.>

*After a mock growl from Azuma she lets go of him and the two part ways.*

"That is the second time someone has accused me of being unintelligent simply for not wanting to go around fighting dragons, and magic. If that is being stupid then I don't want to be smart." Noctis replied, "Anyway, what is a ley line, and how do I use one to get out of here?"

<A ley line is a line of moving magic energy that advanced wizards use to travel rapidly. Normally, they are confined to the earth, but a Thunderbird is so large and powerful that the islands on their backs can attract these lines of power as well. As for how to use one...you probably aren't skilled enough.>

~The Next Day!~

*Anyone who has their TV on is listening to a news anchor talk about the untimely death of the Japanese Emperor when she announces that they have an anonymous caller.*

N"Yeah, I just wanted to say that he was a FUCKING DICK & I'm glad he's dead. *Click.*"

*Not sure quite what to say to that, the anchorwoman stutters that they're going to commercial.*

"I hate to ask this of you, but as you can see, I'm pretty much out of options. Would you please take me home, or, at the very least, get me onto solid ground, off of this Thunderbird?"

*Azuma starts laughing hysterically.*

"I hope they star sixty-nine him."

*Taiyo yawns and stretches, waking up in her living room as her mother walks in.*

Taiyo's Mom:<Good morning, sleepy head.>

"Good morning? How did I get home?"

Taiyo's Mom:<Your friends brought you here. The boyish one and her boyfriend.>

"Oh, Azumy & Mimi."

[Have I been saying those two are dating?]

<I suppose that can be arranged. You'll need to grab my arm, however.>

*Everyone realizes it's a Monday.*

*Mimiru waltzes in like she owns the place.*

Mimiru:<It's Monday, get the... You're awake again when I arrive.>

"I don't want to go anywhere. I kind of want to stay at home for more than fifteen minutes before being sent on some wild adventure to parts unknown."

Mimiru:<No you don't. This place smells like a window hasn't been opened in ages.>

"Because I'm never home long enough to open a window."

*Having had enough of his shit, Mimiru drags him out of the apartment.*

Taiyo's Mom:<Get ready for school, I'll start breakfast.>

"Is dad at work already?"

Taiyo's Mom:<Yep. He'll be back at the usual time. So someone should be here when you get home. If you do come home.>

"Sorry..."

Taiyo's Mom:<It's fine. Not many people your age get to travel somewhere new on a weekly basis. But please make sure to leave a note or something before you go.>

"Okay."

*With that the two go into seperate rooms.*

Noctis goes to grab his arm, "I don't see why that would be a problem."

Luna had been watching the TV, and grinned when she heard Nero's call, although she couldn't quite place the voice to a face.

Kyoujin wondered down the stairs and into the kitchen, apparently not hearing Luna say 'good morning'.
When she came back out, she had a pair of coffee mugs filled and handed one to Luna.
"Thanks" Luna smiled, taking the mug and having a sip, "How are you feeling?"
"Meh" Kyoujin shrugged, sitting down next to Luna and also sipping at her coffee.
"So, are you going to school today?"
"No." Kyoujin said firmly, "I don't want to..."
"Well, I guess that's understandable after all that..."
"Please don't talk about it" Kyoujin said, taking a hand from her mug to wipe at her eye, "let's just watch TV for a bit..."

*At school, Nero isn't there, but Ari is.*

*In a flash of light, they reappear on top of a cliff, next to a white crucifix. There's nothing around but snow & an occasional scraggly bush.*

<This is very strange. I did not mean to stop here.>

*It's a live documentary of the Amazon, and just before the camera is turned off, they think they see 2 people just appear on the cliff side out of thin air. It's out of focus, much like a Bigfoot sighting.*

"Hi, Mimi!"

*Taiyo hurried into the classroom then stops upon seeing Ari.*

[That's the guy from Thiera's office place.]

*At a normal pace she sits down in a desk in front of Mimiru who looks not at all thrilled.*

"What's wrong, Mimi?"

Mimiru:<That's the idiot with the wind powers from Thiera's office building.>

"Yeah... What happened to Blacky?

"Where exactly are we...?" Noctis asked as she looked around, pulling her coat around her tightly.

"That's weird" Luna said, "Did you see that?"

"What?" Kyoujin asked, as she hadn't been paying attention to the TV at all.

"It looked kind of like something just appeared out of nowhere" Luna explained, "on that cliff side."

"That is weird" Kyoujin sighed, going back to staring at the bottom of her empty coffee mug, "...But there's not a lot we can do about it from here, is there?"

*Ari's feeling mighty uncomfortable wearing something that isn't his old ass armor. He's wearing a black vest over a white t-shirt, regular jeans and white sneakers. He isn't even sure where he got all of that crap but it's probably Thiera's fault. He stares at Taiyo blankly and then watches as she joins the rest of the group.*

[They must be angry.]

*Allina walks in and stops next to him staring at him, eyes widen in rage.*

Allina: <What. The. Hell.>

Ari: <H-Hello.>

Allina: <GUYS. GUYS.> [Dammit, I knew I should've brought my sword to school.]
