Alto stops, "I could tell you where it's from... damnit" he sighs as they run off.

"How would you know?" Creed questions.

"Its Efreet the Aeldi of fire. I've seen it in a book before, when I was younger. The one we fought though... it looked like it was tainted by something. Luna is an Aeldi too I think, the Aeldi of Light. When we all recieved that power it felt like a part of me I never knew was missing was completed. I started goofing a few hours ago and..." he held his left hand flat facing down at chest level. Golden energy started to pour from it like rays of light.

"It's still weak but... heh... in time I think I might be able to do some of the things you can do babe" he winked at Soul.

OOC: His latent magic is waking up in other words Tae. Granted its been semi-awake for awhile as its what allows him to wield the heavy blade he has onehanded.

*Derek watched the visitors suddenly get off and leave, a faint smile across his face. He shook it off and turned his attention back to the conversation at hand.*

*James sighed and reluctantly followed Allina.*

"You should really loosen up."

Kentaro: (You might be right, but still... After how many times his guards came after us...)

OOC: Exposition, exposition!

*Allina and (I assume) James, return a few seconds later, the first holding a big old book. She sits down again and opens it*

Allina: <The monster we fought was an Ae-->

King: <General Crive told us about Efreet.>

Allina: <Oh, cool. Anyway, as Creed might have noticed, that didn't look like the real Efreet. This book depicts him as a large horned creature with burning red skin. Unless I'm going colorblind, the one we saw had black skin.>

King: <I see, but he could easily be a monster that just looked like Ee-->

Crone: <I see we have a whole lot of bookworms around here.>

*Crone is leaning against the wall next to the door to hall Allina just came out of. He circles around the table and stops at the side opposite to the King's seat, bowing*

Crone: <I have important developments to report.>

King: <Oh, good evening, Crone. Should we speak somewhere with a little more privacy?>

Crone: <That won't be necessary, Your Majesty. It would appear the constant monster attacks throughout Verte lately have been caused by a powerful energy. Its source seems to be a cave in Southwestern Alda, near the boarder.>

King: <So, north a ways. Does the monster have anything to do with this?>

Crone: <That I do not know, not until we verify the source.>

King: <Thank you, Crone. General Crive, Sir Baticule, you have your report, and it seems I have urgent matters to attend so perhaps-->

Allina: <Your Majesty, could you give me and my friends a minute alone first? It's really important.>

King: <Well, I don't see why not. You can speak in the library.>

Allina: <(Guys, mind following me for a second?)>

*She walks back to the library, sitting by a wooden table there. It is a large space with dozens of bookcases, most of which over 20'0 tall. It has plenty of big windows, but the shades are all shut. There's a candle burning at the center of the small wooden table*

*She arrives at the destroyed square and notices a golden bracelet with a moon-shaped crystal pending from it on the ground. She recognizes it as being Allina's*

*Kari puts her napkin on top of her plate, half finished then puts her silverware on top. Kentaro, plate empty does the same.*

*James, who didn't even take a bite to eat, followed Allina into the library.*

*Derek stayed in his seat and silently continued nibbling on his food.*

OOC: Alto said it not Creed, keep on the ball there Tae or else I'm going to have to start color coding.

Allina: <Oh, I didn't realize I had lost it. Thanks Soul! You should stay and listen too, that Crone guy said the monster attacks were being caused by some powerful energy... Where the hell are Kari and--forget it. Anyway, I was thinking: Luna spoke to us immediately after we defeated that monster that looked like Efreet. This and the fact it didn't Return may have something to do with what she wants us to do. I just wanted to suggest we went and checked the source of the energy ourselves. Opinions?>

King: <Crone, would you be willing to accompany the squad I send to verify the source? Your magic skills are invaluable and I am sure-->

Crone: <Why, of course, Your Majesty. It would be a pleasure to help you.>

King: <I expect General Crive and his comrade Sir Baticule to accompany you as well, for the interest of Alda.>

*He turns to Kentaro and Kari as Crone bows and walks out quietly, most likely to prepare for the trip*

King: <Oh? Didn't you go with your friends?>

*James scratches his head in confusion.*

James: <...So long as I get to fight stronger and stronger opponents!>

"Yeah, we should go investigate" Creed says.

Kentaro:<N... No. Should we have?>

*Derek rises out of his seat.*

Derek: <I can escort them wherever they need to go, sir. It'd be a pleasure.>

Allina: <That might be, Soul.>

*Heading back into the dining room, they see Crone walking back in with a little red pouch tied to his belt*

King: <Ah, welcome back. General Crive, Sir Baticule, Crone and Derek will be going to the cave to investigate the source, leaving at dawn. I assume you will want to tag along as well?>

*Allina winks at Creed and leans over to whisper to Kari and Kentaro's ears*

Allina: <(You guys are coming with us, right?)>

Derek: <I'll do my best to be of use to you all. I hardly think I'll be able to keep up with you, considering your feat.>

*He laughs faintly and shrugs.*

James: (...He's doing it again...)

*James tries to hide how annoyed he is.*

"Derek can come, Crone can sit on his ass and pick his nose for all I care" Alto says bluntly. For once Creed doesn't stop him.

*Derek once again looked at James quizzically.*

Derek: <Are you alright? You look irritated in some way.>

"Y... yes."

*The two push their chairs back and get out of them, pushing them back in.*

Kentaro:<Thank you for your hospitality.>

"Thank you..."

King: <I would advise you to watch your tongue, General. And what are you talking about, Soul, you do not have the authority to accompany them on such a mission. Not only that, I wouldn't have you all risk your lives when you have nothing to do with this.>

Allina: <Actually, we think we might be able to help.>

*Crone giggles a bit and steps forward*

Crone: <Your Majesty, with all due respect, I think you should give them a chance. They did fairly well against that creature.>

King: <Oh? Well, I just can't allow you to go I'm-->

Crone: <I'm sure General Crive, Derek, and I will take good care of them.>

King: <...I don't know, is this really a good idea?>

Crone: <They obviously want to help, and they have proved to be skilled fighters somewhat, why wouldn't it be?>

Allina: <Y-Yeah, let us go, please?>

King: <...Oh, fine. Derek, see that Soul is given more apropriate clothing and that a bedroom is prepared for each of them. I also have several weapons available. I will tell someone to find a nice weapon for those of you who want one. Perhaps a staff to enhance your magic, Allina?>

Allina: <Oh, well, I've never tried one, but that might be a good idea. Thank you.>
