Urahara<Do you remember the Cleaner? They're similar to that, in terms of durability. They are hulking giants who prowl Hell, taking the Sinners & destroying them. But, for so long as the Sinners are bound by the chains of Hell, they simply keep returning to life for more. I understand it's not a pleasant place.>

"That sounds like... what am I saying, it IS hell." Noct shook her head, "Anyway, how do we stop the people coming out of hell, word has it that they are trying to get their hands on Aamon's research."

Yue manages to avoid being impaled in the stomach by taking it in his left shoulder instead. The blade sinks in and Yue grits his teeth before dislodging himself from the blade. Blood squirted from the wound in his left shoulder. This guy wasn't gonna go down easy and Yue didn't want to push his luck anymore. A sonido followed by a garganta to... somewhere not where he was... would hopefully lose the guy.

"I am Atsuko Chiryo-shi of the 9th Division" Atsuko said brightly as she took her seat, "Thank you for letting me sit with you, I've been very bored lately."

Atae nodded, "Tell me about it." She said, taking another bite of food. "So, Chiryo-shi, with a name like that you sound like a healer, but I don't remember ever seeing you in Squad 4. Are you new?"

"Not really" Atsuko shook her head, "...I would have joined the 4th Division but it turned out I was quite a fighter and I was placed into the 9th Division. Sometimes I wish I had joined the 4th Division, though."

When she finished talking she quickly ordered a small bowl of fried rice.

*Aera ducks, grabs his arm, and pushes it away before leaping back a few yards.*

Aera: <Are you the one who attacked Senthose?>

Atae smiled, "Consider yourself lucky. Don't get me wrong, I love what I do, but there are times when patients can be ungrateful, or uncooperative, or vulgar." She let out a small sigh before clicking her chop sticks together, "Sometimes I wish I could have a simpler role in the Gotei, just hunting hollows." Taking another bite Atae tried to shift the focus of the conversation so that she wasn't rambling on about work. "So, tell me, what is it like working in the 9th? Do you help out with the paper, perhaps you write, or report?"

"Not really... I have very little to do with the paper" Atsuko shook her head, "The 9th Division seems mostly orientated around security and keeping the peace. Or at least that's how it was before, it's too soon to say what direction our Division will go in now."

When her fried rice arrived she took a mouthful and grinned as the hunger in her stomach washed away.
"How's your Captain?"

"It is funny that you should ask that, actually." Atae said, leaning back in her chair slightly. "I dropped in on a discussion between both of our captains today, not too long ago at all." She said, "As for my Captain Psyche, she is incredibly pleasant. I do miss Captain Unohana, but I think Captain Psyche brings her own style to squad 4, and I'm interested to see where she leads us." Leaning back in to take a bite of food Atae also asked, "So, what about Captain Isaan? I only met him briefly, and he was more interested in Captain Psyche than myself, I'm sure, so I couldn't really gauge him. Have you had any more luck, what does he seem like?" Atae shot a glace down at her food and frowned, she was nearing completion of her plate, while Atsuko was only just served. Quickly she called over the waitress and asked for a small bowl of miso soup, that way she wouldn't feel weird holding a conversation with an empty plate in front of her.

"Oh I don't really know him all that well yet, in fact I've hardly spoken to him" Atsuko shrugged slightly, "...but from what I've observed of him around the barracks, he seems fairly eager to please both his superiors and his subordinates."
She took another mouthful of fried rice, dropping some onto her lap and blushing.

Atae tilted her head slightly, "That doesn't surprise me. He is new at this, and most likely wants to make a good first impression with everyone. I just worry that he may spread himself too thin in trying to please everybody." She said before finishing her last bite of teriyaki just at her miso soup was brought out. "So, tell me about yourself, Chiryo-shi, how long have you been a shiniagmi?"

"I agree with you about my Captain" Atsuko nodded, "and I have been a Soul Reaper for some years, but not long enough to consider myself a veteran of any kind. What about you?"

"I've been here quite a while, but I don't think a veteran is something I would consider myself either." Atae replied. "So, how do you like it?" She asked with genuine interest.

For a moment, Atsuko didn't know what Atae meant by 'it'.
"Being a Soul Reaper? It's good, I suppose. I like to preserve life... and I feel that as a Soul Reaper I can do that, even on the front lines. With every hollow killed, I may be saving the lives of many humans, not to mention to soul of the hollow itself. It's never easy, though... I've seen my fellow Soul Reapers die before my eyes while I remain without the power to save them..."
She slumped her shoulders slightly as she said this before straightening up and letting a smile play across her lips, "But that's just why I have to be a Soul Reaper and be good at it- so I can do what I can do protect the people around me.... Sorry for rambling..."

She took another mouthful of rice.

Atae listened all the while downing her miso soup. When Atsuko apologized for rambling Atae looked up from her bowl, "Don't worry about it," She replied with a hint of a smile, "I'm the one who asked you, remember." Atae leaned back a bit in her chair and smiled, "So, what do you do when you're not out there fighting hollows?" She asked, hoping for a more pleasant change in subject.

"Not a lot of interesting things" Atsuko replied, taking another small mouthful of rice, "I train, I read books and I draw, mostly. What about you?"

Urahara<For that, I'll require a sample. Why don't you go with Taiyo on her mission, see if you can find anything?>

*He emerges to Senthose fighting the same guy. He appears above & behind Senthose, slashing down. The Arrancar sidesteps the blow & lashes out with a tentacle, but the enemy quickly repeats the process.*

This guy's a garganta master... maybe even space time... the fuck is he?

Yue keep's his shoulder pressed to stop the blood flow.

Fuck.

"It should go by faster with more people involved."

*She smirks and leaps over it, punching at his head midair.*

Sab smiled, "Well, alright then, I do believe our work here is done."

"How do you figure? We don't know how to fix what is going on at all."

"Agreed, but its not like we'd be much help. Why don't we just go home, I'm sure everyone here can figure things out without us."

"Actually," Noct interjected, "You two would come in handy if you decided to stay. We could use all the help we can get."

Atae tilted her head to the side, "I'm a bit of a boring person I guess, but all I really like to do is read. My one talent is healing I guess." She replied with a small shrug. She finished off her food and let out a small sigh. "Well, Chiryo-shi, it was nice to meet you, but I should return to my duty." She said with a smile. Atae placed the money for her food down on the table, waved goodbye to Atsuko, and made her way down the street back towards Squad 4.
