Golden Age: Revival

*As Noctis is walking along the river, a bunch of people scream & run away. When she looks towards it, three heads on tree trunk necks, like eyeless sea snakes with sharks' teeth, rise out of the water. Their fins flap & they turn towards Noctis, roaring while a thick cloud of green gas hisses from their mouthes.*

*When the lights are turned on, something flits into her parents' bedroom.*

OOC: God you really don't know anything about NYC. There are three airports she would have landed at, JFK, LaGuardia, or Newark. Each are far enough away from Manhattan that she would literally need to take a car home. At no point would she be walking by the river. Still, for plot's sake lets say she went for a walk along Hudson River Park.

Noctis books it in the opposite direction.

*Mimiru begins nudging Taiyo who eventually sits up, yawning and stretching all in a very feline manner.*

Taiyo:<What's going on? Where are we?>

"Bad things. In a bad place."

*Noctis finds her path blocked by what look like donkey-sized, mutant sea-horses with squashed faces & thick legs. They snarl at her & one of them takes a swing at her.*

N"Should...should someone go see if they're all right?"

Noct ducks the swing, and keeps running. As she makes it past the horse she leaves behind a shadow clone to try and stab the fucker in the throat while Noct extends her hand to grasp Fomalhaut in it's revolver state. She then unloads 4 rounds into the hippocampus.

"I suppose as guests it's our duty to see to put our life on the line when something goes wrong."

*Azuma begins to make his way to where the shadowy thing went.*

*As he's walking, a 6 foot dark mass barrels down the hallway towards him, seeming to bend around him & flit into the basement. Suddenly, all of the lights go out.*

*It sort of deflates, oozing blood all over the place. The others are quickly on top of her, until she is physically pulled out of the tustle by Gallahad, who slices one of their heads off with his other hand.*

Noct looks up at Gallahad, and wraps an arm around him, "Gallahad, where did you come from?!" With her other hand she shoots a few more of the things.

*Azuma feels his way back to the living room.*

"I don't mean to be the bearer of bad news, but we're in trouble."

N"It's good to have your investigative skills on the team."

*They start hearing scratches & thumps coming from the walls.*

<I came running back once I saw all of the monsters. Are there any caverns around here? Gilgamesh mentioned something like this happening in a place called "Australia," & they were coming from the Underworld.>

*The Hydra swims up on land & slithers towards them, where it lunges one of its heads at Gallahad, who blocks with his sword, slowly being pushed back.*

"I attribute it to all my years of reading Hardy Boys novels."

*Azuma looks to where a wall might be.*

"Something wicked this way comes."

Noctis uses a shadow clone to support Gallahad from behind, and help him with that particular head. "A cavern, I don't think so," Noctis said, running towards the head, "We're in a city, there are no caves here that I know of." Noct extended her hand as Fomalhaut changed into the triple barreled sawed off, and jammed the end of her gun into the hydra's eye before pulling the trigger.

N"Not likely. I can see it, because of my gladius. It will probably want to lure us into a situation where we're more vulnerable."

E"If you can see it, why didn't you do anything?"

N"Can't see it very well. Half of the time, it seems like it's just part of the wall."

*The other heads screech as that one goes limp. However, the streams of blood coming out of it are melting the pavement & heading towards Noctis's feet. Gallahad takes the opening to jump on the severed head & start clashing with the middle head.*

Noctis uses shadow steps to do the same, going for the head that Gallahad isn't fighting. Noctis runs down the back of the hydra, takes aim with her rifle, and fires into the third hydra head.

"So are you going to stare at it all night or does someone have an idea on what to do about it?"

N"Oh, I can't see it right NOW. I think it's in the basement. Also, I have no idea what it is. It looks like Yomi, but different. And it clearly doesn't need the darkness."

*This time, the Hydra's head swings out of the way, aiming to bite her midsection. Gallahad chops the head he's fighting off, the wound closing over & bubbling.*

<Oh? What is this?>

Noctis dives out of the way, but in her place is a shadow clone, which dives into the open mouth of the hydra before exploding into a large ball of spikes, impaling the head through just about every angle.

"If it's 'part of the wall' perhaps we could try and get it away from the house and deal with it."

N"What advantage do we have outside?"

*The head, not quite dead, roars, spraying green gas & fluid towards her. The bubbling wound turns into two heads, both of which lash at Gallahad before he cuts them off. They then bubble & grow into 4 heads.*

<...I believe it grows new heads when its current heads are cut off. I suppose I'll just have to do this the old fashioned way.>

*He sheathes his blade & cracks his knuckles.*

"The one we don't have inside."

N"So, nothing?"

E"Why don't we just go down into the basement & kill whatever it is?"

"Only one of us can see in the dark, so unless Allina can constantly give us a light source, it's up to Nero to kill it."

N"What's that bullshit? I'm not goin' it alone."

"What's the matter, not confident in your abilities?"

"Why don't you get down there & kill it if you're Mr. Confident?"
