Golden Age: Revival

"Oh good, that narrows it down significantly," Noct said.

*There is knocking at the door.*

???<Boss? We hear voices? May we come in?>

Noct popped out her shotgun, and formed a shadow knife.

<...Sir? Would you please answer us?>

*Judging from his tone, the man is growing suspicious.*

Noct contemplated making sexual noises to try and give an excuse for the man not to enter, but decided against it.

<Sorry, sir, but if you don't answer in the next 30 seconds, we're going to forcefully enter!>

For a second Noct wondered why that grenade never went off.

*Noct notices that the arm she's holding the knife in is still only partially-healed & probably in a cast. Just as the 30 seconds are about to run out, Roatha blasts the door down. Two or three guys are knocked over. Roatha runs past the bewildered third guy as he begins shooting into the room, stands on top of the fallen door, & stabs into it repeatedly.*

OOC: Oh yea, broken arm.

Noct shoots the remaining guy, assuming Roatha isn't stabbing him repeatedly.

*He is not. The guy who is shot by Noctis tries to pull himself away from the scene, occasionally shooting randomly into the room at anyone who might be following him. The three guys under the door finally manage to push it over. When they take aim at Roatha, he slashes one's thumb off, causing him to drop the weapon, & rolls under his legs. Laughing, he fires off a red lightning bolt. One of the other guys pushes No Thumb in front of it. He drops to the ground, clutching at his eyes & coughing up blood.*

Noct sent a shadow clone after the fleeing gunman, eventually tackling, and stabbing him until dead. Noct took aim at the remaining gunman, shooting.

*Allina moved in front of the group to block the escaping shooter's bullets with her barrier and thrusted at one of the men still standing with her rapier.*

*A bullet grazes Allina's arm, almost as though she can't block bullets. I'm also going to have to assume she stabbed the air, since they are, you know, shooting from afar. Roatha grabs the hand of one of the gunmen as he's firing, forcing him to shoot the ceiling, & then slashes open his stomach. He's now laughing quite explicitly. After Noctis killed the other two, No Thumb realizes he isn't going to escape, frantically unpins a grenade, & tosses it inside the room.*

Noct puts a shadow dome around the grenade.

*Meanwhile, Roatha stabs No Thumb in the torso, not particularly caring where. Down below, the group can hear shouting & running footsteps.*

"So, what now?" Noct asked, looking around. "Ptolemy's dead. What else is left to do here?"

N"Escape before we get pumped full of bullets?"

R"We can kill them. Ptolemy was prepared to fight someone with magic. These guys aren't."

N"That is hardly the point."

"We can do it both your ways for all I care," Noct said, "We escape, and take out anyone in the way since we know we can. Point is, in what direction do we start running?"

*Roatha immediately takes off out of the room & down the stairs towards the first floor.*

N"Damn it, why did you encourage him?!"

"Because it is better than staying still," Noct said, "I don't care who the leader is, we just need to get out of here."

N"That's not the point! There's a window there, I'm sure we could have found a way down. Instead, we're getting dragged into a fight with a bunch of machinegun-wielding maniacs. And I don't know where Roatha found his sudden--call it inspiration--but I don't share his conviction that we can win."

Noct pointed to the window then, "Then lets go out the window!" Noct made a shadow clone and sent it after Roatha. Once it got to him it grabbed his shoulder and pointed back up to the room, trying to pull him back.

*Roatha stares at it blankly for a few seconds before charging his weapon with lightning & cutting the shadow clone in half.*

N"Well? Is he coming?"

"No, he is being an asshole," Noct said, "Hold on, I'll try to provoke him." Another shadow clone comes up and punches him in the face, then goes back up the stairs and around a corner, so it could avoid any lightning bullshit Roatha had planned.

*Roatha, in fact, is not stupid enough to be punched in the face in the first place, & merely evades the clone while blasting lightning at the people shooting at him.*

N"That is a great idea. I mean that."

E"He does seem to be acting strange."
