Ghost Town

Syn: "We don't all have super legs, Gazelle."

Ryder: "I'd rather not risk waking them with cars... Our best bet is to step carefully."

*Syn frowns, afraid of that order, but looks out at the minefield and nods.*

Jade: "We can do it...just be quiet."

*Syn secures her recon hood and pulls the hood of her jacket over her head. A second later she activates her tactical cloak and goes invisible, heading into the field*

Ryder: "Sab, Gazelle, can you two jump quietly and carry people? You can take Mortal and Jade. Quill and I will do it the fun way."


*Both of them agree and head into inform the civilians of the situation. They are ready within seconds to move out, anxious to get off world. Erin regroups with Noct, with Dura and Iliad behind her.*

Erin: "We're ready when you guys are. And I wanted to say...no matter what happens, thank you. We wouldn't have made it this far on our own."


*Linox and Zell haul ass to the shuttles, avoiding sleeping apes along their way and reach the platform with out any problems. Linox gets right to work on the nearest shuttle.*

Linox: "Keep an eye out, I'll let you know if I need a hand."

"I can try" Gazelle says.

Quill has a look of 'this is gonna suck' written all over his face.

Ryder: "Sab, I think you should take Jade and Gazelle can carry Mortal."

*Ryder notices Quill and turns back to everyone.*

Ryder: "Don't worry, we can do this, we just have to be careful."

"You make it sound so easy"Quill laments.

Ryder: "Well, the other option is this goes terribly wrong and we all die a terrible death. I'd like to think I'm being optimistic."

"That's a good point."

Zell does just that.

Noct is waiting for Linox to confirm that the shuttle is good to go before heading out. She then looks at the woman and smiled, "Thank me when you're safely off this rock, Erin."

Mortal is clearly upset with being piggy backed, but keeps her displeasure to herself. She could be a tough, independent woman who doesn't need anyone's help, when there wasn't a minefield of sleeping monsters between her and safety. Besides, when she thought of Gazelle less like a man giving her a piggy back, and more like a battle mount, it seemed to bother her less.

Sab bent down to let Jade climb aboard.

Erin: "Hopefully I get the chance to."


*Jade climbs onto Sab's back. Ryder takes a deep breath and starts heading out.*

Ryder: "Let's go, carefully."


*Zell can see the others leaving the building and trying to cross a minefield with about three times as many apes as the way she and Linox came from. Syn decloaks next to her.*

Syn: "Mornin'."

Gazelle bends down to let Mortal get on.

Quill follows Ryder, carefully.

Noct gave Erin a confident smile and nodded her head, "I have hope."

Zell nodded towards the others, "They're going to have trouble." She then turned to Linox, and spoke over her Omni-tool linked to Noct, "I believe Ryder's team is making his way over."

Mortal does.

Sab sets off, trying to clear a quiet, and Ape free path.

Linox: "Zell, I need you over here. Hold the trajectory circuit while I re-attach it to the ascension boosters."

*Linox keeps moving his hands as he talks, it is likely his mind is five steps ahead and he's about to get to that part. Syn heads back towards Ryder and the Quill to show them the path she took.*


*As the group moves across, the Terrians stir but none of them wake. The flying creatures are nowhere to be seen, likely back in their nests. Ryder takes it slow as he crosses. One of the Terrians nears Quill randomly sticks its arm out, nearly tripping him, and is grumbling, but it's eyes are still closed.*


*Krast heads over to the door and checks his guns.*

Krast: "This isn't going to last... I've never seen them sleep like this. We need to take advantage of it while we can."

Gazelle carefully leaps over the terrians as he carries Mortal across.

Quill almost face plants the ground but recovers quick enough and continues to carefully pick his way across.

Zell nodded, and went about doing that, knowing exactly what he wanted done.

Sab's gingerly journey is also practically completed as she hopped across.

"The shots ring out and you'll take out maybe five in the confusion before they wake up and realize they're being attacked. The trade off of them to the civilians would be abysmal. Please, Krast, try to think about this," Noct said.

*Krast turns around with a smile.*

Krast: "You don't give me enough credit, Asari. I meant now is the time to move, before they wake up."

Erin: "He's right, we've been dealing with these things for so long and not once have they slept like this."


*Linox scoots over to let Zell in and finishes up the repairs. When he's done, he stands up and moves on to the next.*

Linox: "That's one down. We need at least one more for the civilians and another for our evac."


*Syn decloaks in front of Quill and Ryder and shows them how to get to the landing pad quickly, increasing their speed. The Ovisians have no problems making their way over thanks to their mad hops. Once the group crosses, Ryder approaches Zell.*

Ryder: "Noct T'Silsi?"

"Thanks for the info" Quill says to Syn.

Gazelle lets Mortal down.

Noct chuckled a bit, "Oh, sorry. Well, you heard the man. Lets get going."

Dura and Iliad both nod, and try to round up their groups and get going.

Zell shakes her head, and smiled, "Not quite blue enough. I'm Zell Talea, you must be Ryder. Noct and the civs are on their way over now."

Mortal nodded, "Glad this is getting close to finally being over. This has been a hellish day."

Sab lets Jade down as well.

Erin: "Everyone's ready."

Krast: "That's it, lets move on then. Nice and easy people."

*With Krast at the lead, the group of survivors start to head out.*


Linox: "Hm...that one, much easier. This shuttle is ready."

*Linox moves on to the third shuttle. Ryder sees the group approaching.*

Ryder: "Heh, I take it that's not Noct up front."

*Jade gives Sab a slight nod and steps up with the group.*

Jade: "We're not out of the woods yet."

*Behind them, the apes are beginning to stir.*

Zell frowns, "That doesn't look good." She then moved over with Linox to help him with anything he might need help with on the shuttle.

Noct has begun to make her way to the front about four steps behind Krast. Dura, and Iliad are both with the civs.

Syril goes to Jade's side.

Gazelle moves to the front of the group and cracks his knuckles.

*Over by the civilians, the apes have started getting up. In panic, the civs start running for the shuttles. Heeding Noct's recommendations, Krast leads them. On the other side of the landing pad, the apes are up and snarling at Mortal and Ryder's team, but they aren't making a move.*

Syn: "What are they waiting for?"

Dura, and Iliad try to corral their groups as they continue down.

Mortal shrugged, "I have no idea, but now isn't a good time for a fight anyway."

*Linox sees the civilians coming and opens up their shuttles helping everyone in.*

Linox: "Shuttles need pilots."

Erin: "I can fly, I'll take one. But, I don't know of anyone else that can."

Ryder: "Figure it out fast."

*All of the apes are up and are hollering at the landing pad. They're throwing tantrums, but not charging.*

Syn: "Maybe there's something on here they don't like."

Jade: "They're not allowed to."

*Krast steps towards them.*

Krast: "Come on! What are you waiting for! I'm right here!"

Gazelle walks over to Krast, stares him in the eye, and then smashes his head down on the poor fool of a Krogan like the fist of an angry good. "Not acceptable Krogan. We're leaving."

Quill just blinks and raises his hand, "Uh I can pilot one."

Noct levels her gun at Gazelle, causing Iliad, Dura, and Zell to do the same, "What the hell is your problem, Ovisian?" Noct asked, making her way over to Krast, checking to see if Gazelle OP'd him to death.

*Krast blinks a few times, confused at what just happened. Unable to grasp the concept of a Ovisian being able to go against a Krogan.*

Krast: "I'm fine. Shocked, but fine. You better watch yourself, Ovisian."

*Sensing an empty threat, Ryder moves on and looks at Quill.*

Ryder: "Great, then you'll take one of the other shuttles."

Linox: "Still need one more. Two shuttles for civilians, but one more for all of us."

Ryder: "Figure it out, I'm not going. I have to get to the bottom of this and those mines have the answers."

*Jade looks between Ryder and Quill.*

Ryder: "You don't have to come. Hell, I'll go alone if I have to."

Syn: "You won't. I'll go with you."
