Tirea:<How much longer till it's time?>

Astarte looked to Roatha as she took her seat and raised her hand in a gesture of greeting, "Hello, there. What a coincidence to see you here."

While Eduj stood bolt upright with his hands folded across his chest, Hector leaned against a street lamp quite casually. Hector was used to standing in one place for hours, but he would have preferred to be inside, and it showed on his features.

Dalia had arrived before most of the others and did not offer a greeting to any of them as they arrived, choosing instead to stand in a cold silence.

Heide sits by the side of Vanessa with her hands in her lap, watching and listening intently to what Leader says. She has never been to a bar before, so she is also slightly curious about the place. But since the Leader has gathered them here and is speaking, it is important to be attentive. The Leader does not like to repeat herself nor does she like people who does not pay proper attention.

Gabe nodded again, "I'm with Syn. I didn't come from the best neighborhood, so Pro-Bending has always been my outlet. As far as other hobbies, um... I like to exercise. I guess I'm a bit boring, huh?"

Mortal nods along, and eats some popcorn.

OOC: Lol, timeskip.

Mortal shakes her head, and answered matter-of-factly, "No, Ma'am."

Noct is bored, watching the game, eating popcorn I guess.

"About a half hour to go," Gabe said, stretching out as well. "Quick word of advise from an old hand. I know you're probably excited, maybe a bit nervous too, but when we get out there you need to turn that energy, and adrenaline into focus. The team that plays with their heads is the team that usually wins."

*Roatha is surprised.*

"Oh! Hi. Umm...popcorn?"

*He inclines the bag of popcorn towards her.*

"Please, can we clear our names by finding out who did it?"

<You can try. But in the meantime, we have to investigate you. So only office duty until we've sorted this out.>

"Does that mean you believe us?"

<Either way, one of my officers made an illegal arrest, and blamed it on someone else in the force. I don't see how I can trust any of you right now.>

Masked Purist<The Agni Kais are meeting even as we speak. Most likely, they will be heading out to perform a major attack. This will leave their den mostly undefended. Perhaps it's time we found out what they've been up to?>

*The Leader scratches her chin, considering this.*

Leader<Interesting...but that is well outside our own territory.>

Masked Purist<Precisely. It would remind everyone that we are not constrained to downtown Republic City.>

Agni Kai male<I managed to get rope ladders to scale Zolt's building. Do we have any volunteers to distract the guards?>

Mortal nodded her head, "Understood, Ma'am." In honesty, Mortal was not looking forward to desk work, but it was better than sitting in the Chief's office, getting chewed out.

*Marcus sits quietly at the bar, assuming her statements aren't really meant for him. His little patrol didn't go as well as smoothly as planned. But, he was here, that was something. But she's right, it's not enough. He had to step up his game if he was going to stick around. As the conversation continues to an attack, Marcus suddenly gets some life.*

Marcus: "I'll go. It'll be a nice change of scenery."


*Syn feels the butterflies in her stomach. She had been in plenty of matches, but never Pro. Never in front of so many people. It was exactly what she wanted and it scared the piss out of her. She finishes putting on her uniform and closes her locker, turning around with a normal smile.*

Syn: "Yeah, we got this. We just have to work together and we'll win."

"Don't feel bad, we'll get to the bottom of this, & then--"

Lin<Don't patronize me! Get out of my sight, & get back to work!>

*Euryale leaps out of the chair & scrambles in her haste to salute & GTFO.*

"Yes, Ma'am! Sorry, Ma'am!"

*She stands up.*

<I will go as well.>

Mortal quickly stands and salutes as well, though not in a panicked rush like Euryale, "Yes, Ma'am." She then turned and made way for the door.

*Tirea stands up and hugs Syn*

Tirea:<We've totally got this.>

*Eve mutters under her breath*

Eve:<Oh sure, you'll have fun once you're there. I should have just gotten to bed early.>

*Monu tries to resist eating his candy before the game starts*

Gabe smiled, and nodded, "Alright then. Lets get out there and get that 'W'."

OOC: The 'W' stands for Win, as in a W/L ratio.

OOC: Oh, what the Hell. Alright, here is how the games are going to go: I will wait for your character only if my post immediately concerns them. If I've waited for a few days, I will assume the character's reaction time was merely too slow. I will henceforth avoid anyone who isn't posting regularly.

*The Dancing Dragons emerge from their dressing room & are led to the open air lift that takes them to the Arena. Once they take their positions, facing the opposing team, a lift in the center of the arena brings up the announcer. He gestures to them.*

<In the red corner, the Dancing Dragons!>

*He then sweeps his gesture to the opposing team, all small, slim opponents, with the Earthbender being a woman.*

<And in the blue corner, the Jang Hui Jackalopes!>

*He backs off while the referee blows the whistle to start the game.*

*Euryale is leaning on the wall with her arms crossed, looking mighty embarrassed.*

"Well...that could have gone better. Do you have any idea who could have done it?"

Gabe starts by shooting a fire ball at the water bender.

"Didn't you say you thought it could have been a metalbender?" Mortal said, putting a hand on her shoulder, "And don't worry about it. There really wasn't any way to make that good."

*Tirea sends a burst of water at the fire bender*

*After the Water Bender was knocked back a zone like a chump, the Fire Bender shot a double-burst; at Gabe & Tirea. While he was busy with that, he was hit by Tirea's water shot & knocked back a zone as well. Now on the defensive, the Earthbender begins running to the side of her zone, raising 3 regulation discs as she goes & causing them to circle around her.*

"Yeah, but that describes most of the police. And not very many people outside of the force."

"Well, we can't let that get in the way of facts," Mortal said, "Who out of the Metalbending force would cover for Agnis Kai?"

Gabe dodges to the left, shooting another burst, this time at the Earthbender.

*Tirea counters with another blast of water*

"I think they wanted the Agni Kais arrested, but they weren't willing to wait for the law to catch up with them. I'd say Barbatos, because she has a history of being charged with unnecessary force, but I don't think she's...inventive enough."

*One of the discs take the blast, shattering. She then makes a one-two combo, hurling both discs at Gabe. Tirea is knocked back a zone, but she manages to hit the Firebender as he's trying to get up, knocking him back into the last zone. Now back up, the Waterbender makes a swinging kick, sending a large, sideways arc of water at Tirea.*

"Alright, so Barbatos is too dumb, anyone else?"

Gabe shoots a double burst at the disks, while dodging to the side as well, just in case the disks withstood the blast.

Noct looked at the game pass on with mild interest.

[I won't fail my team!]

*Tirea dives to the side, then kicks up to send an arc of her own to intercept*

*At that moment, Barbatos steps out of the ladies' room. She narrows her eyes at Mortal.*

<I'm sorry...what am I too dumb for again?>

*They do not. Tirea just barely manages to save herself, but since she is on the defensive, the Waterbender sends another kick at her, and the Earthbender flips up a disc & sends it at her. The Firebender, meanwhile, fires several shots at Gabe.*

*Tirea kicks again to send an arc of water at the disk, then swings around to fire another one at the other arc*

"Just quoting from a report about you. Supposedly someone you arrested said you used excessive force, and called you 'too dumb'. Speaking of, have you been dealing with the Agni Kais as of late, or know anyone who has?"

Gabe thanks her lucky stars that the opponent tried to attack an officer that wasn't even in the building as she shoots another burst at the Earthbender.

"Oh, no thank you," Astarte smiled at Roatha's offer of food, but waved it off. As the game began, she watched with some interest.

Hector and Eduj continued to stand guard, Hector occasionally drinking from a flask.

"I shall," Dalia said simply. "I would appreciate some assistance, too."

<Well, I'm not. So what are you really trying to get at? Why do you want to know about my investigations into the Agni Kais?>

*The Earthbender is hit, but can only be knocked back into the net. Gabe is also hit by the Firebender for being a smartass instead of dodging, & is knocked back to the last zone because she takes all of the hits. The referee then blows the whistle.*

<Round 1 goes to the Dancing Dragons.>

*Everyone gets into place for Round 2 & the whistle is blown. This time, the Jackalopes immediately fire back, but to the sacrifice of accuracy. The fire blasts sail right over Gabe, & the Water Whip falls apart before it reaches Tirea. Only one of the pair of discs that the Earthbender throws manages to head towards Tirea.*
