Cabin in the Woods

"See, they're cultured," Noct pointed out.

"Right, right-- Wow, that statue kinda looks like you," Mortal said, pointing to the black statue.

Sab giggled a bit.

Hector forced a smile and waited for Nero to lead the way out. Stefan would follow Hector.

Taiyo: "But you're already much better than you were before."

"My condition hasn't changed much since I stopped coughing up blood."

*Nero beckons for Roatha to follow closely behind him. Thiera heads over to retriever her lantern. As Nero heads out, with Roatha in tow, the latter quickly checks each of his side views, then slowly pans the light over the forest. A few leaves flutter in front of them.*

*Aroma has wandered over to a painting of a crusader impaling a red dragon in the chest. The dragon's head is thrown back in anguish, throwing weak flames uselessly into the air.*

Mortal walks over to the painting beside Aroma and says, "What a chump dragon..."

Taiyo: "Which is better. You've even stopped coughing in general."

Hector looked around, focusing only on the current situation and holding his knife ready. Stefan followed, only holding his cross tight in his right hand.

"My throat has healed a little bit, I guess that is something."

*She leans over with a slight wince, grabbing her drink & taking a sip.*

T"Turn your flashlight off, we'll use it when we need to look at things in the distance."

*Roatha does so & Thiera turns her lantern on. Nero heads into the forest, with them following.*

*Meanwhile, the door is still hanging wide open.*

*Aroma giggles, walking in between a vase with hieroglyphic-like symbols depicting a bull fight & a sculpture of a tree with flaking bark where, if one looked closely, the bark flakes were actually tiny moths. She stops next to a dark painting, looking black from a distance, & wrinkles her nose.*

Azuma goes and closes the door.

Hector and Stefan followed after Nero and the others.

Eduj walked off to go to bed, and Astarte sat on the edge of the couch. She took a big, shaking breath.

*They've now been stomping through the forest for several minutes, flanked by trees growing so close together they almost form a cage, unable to see more than a few feet into any direction, & unable to hear anything other than the loud crunching beneath their feet.*

T"...I can see the marks on the trees, but they're faint. They've started growing over already."

*At this time, the bathroom door clangs open.*

Azuma: "I guess she's still here."

Astarte stared down the hallway.

Sab is starting to notice that a few of the pieces remind her of her friends. With a smile she begins to look around for something sheep related, and something for Gabe.

*Eve and Cameron had applied the water, then followed the group going outside, while Monu and Tirea remained in the cabin*

Eve:<Impossible. We only made those marks a few days ago.>

*Monu sighs, and heads down towards the bathroom*

*She sees a beaten bronze plate of a man throwing a disc, which might remind her of Gabe. Nothing sheep-related, as this isn't some Twilight Zone gallery conveniently designed to reflect the viewers.*

*He runs into Vanessa in the doorway, who scowls at him.*

"Move."

T"Maybe it's fast-growing bark. That's not really the point. What are we going to do when we reach the end of the path we made?"

*After she finishes speaking, something can be heard running through the bushes & leaves to their left.*

Eve:<I suppose we'll have to start creating a new path.>

*Cameron shines his flashlight in the direction of the noise*

Hector and Stefan both looked in that direction, trying to make something out in the dark.

Astarte looked at Vanessa and felt immediately intimidated.

*Vanessa shoots Astarte a dirty look for no apparent reason, then continues into the kitchen.*

*Blocking their vision is a very big bush.*

Astarte paled and turned away, caught between being upset and angry with Vanessa.

*Cameron carefully steps forward, then uses his flashlight to try and move some of the bush. Eve watches silently*

*Monu shrugs at Astarte then returns to the living room*

*Behind the bush is more of the bush. It's almost a wall of bush.*

*Vanessa is making herself food.*

Azuma goes into the bathroom, deciding it might be a good idea to shower.

"Let's just keep moving," Hector said.

Astarte wanted food too, but wouldn't go into the kitchen with Vanessa.

*This is unfortunate, as Vanessa chooses to lean against the counter & eat in the kitchen. Because no one has been doing dishes, she is forced to drink it like a liquid. She casually flips off the stove.*
