*Bremondt's scales explode off of him in a torrent of purple energy, evaporating before they hit the ground. He turns, staggering towards Beowulf, before collapsing onto the stairs.*

Bremondt<Reis...is...mine....>

*Beowulf stares down at him as he turns into a crystal.*

Beowulf<Reis belongs to no one.>

~Brigands' Den~

*The White Mage is slain by a fireball as Cassandra is running towards the stairs like a tool. But before she's taken down, she casts a basic burst of fire on Safian & Namond. Safian is now out of MP.*

~Grogh Heights~

*The Mage manages to get off a large lightning bolt, critically wounding Delita again. Obviously holding out for a Crystal, he makes a break for the distant monk corpse, using an X-Potion on himself.*

Cassandra:<REALLY!? Stupid mages.>

*Cassandra heads back down to Namond and Safian*

Safian:<I don't think I'm going to be able to cast spells for a while.>

Mortal spit at the crystal, and then let out a sigh. She had expected to be happy that Bremondt was dead, but she wasn't, at best she was relieved.

Sab said somberly, "Roatha is dead..."

"Maybe there's still time!"

*Euryale races for the doorway while Beowulf heads into the hall.*

*The Black Mage is immobilized as 3 blue crystals pop up.*

*The Thief gets up, bruised & with torn clothes, & punches Safian in the jaw.*

Noct said, "Beowulf, you should go get Reis."

Sab followed Euryale.

*Safian kicks him, while Namond shoots and Cassandra slashes with her sword*

*He dies.*

Ovelia<...I don't understand how they could keep throwing themselves at us. Do they not want the war to end?>

Delita<It matters not. The way to Lesalia should be clear now.>

*They find him slumped against the side of the door, his weapon missing. As Euryale starts yelling at him, Sab finds the sword stabbed through the door, a few strands of silver hair stuck to it.*

E"It's not working! AhhhhhAHHHHHH!"

*He coughs, squinting at her.*

R"...Eur..?"

*He kicks it again. Once more, there is an eerie calm while they wait to see if the Undead will decide to stay Dead.*

*The three stand around waiting*

Safian:<How long should we wait?>

Cassandra:<Who knows.>

Azuma turns to defend against the attack. Mimiru teleports behind the Construct attacking Azuma and attacks with Secret Fist.

~Nelveska Temple~

*Because I'm a nice guy, the teleport-repeating fist combo is successful, critically wounding the robot. He counters, but doesn't do too much damage. He then attacks normally, seriously wounding Mimiru. Azuma manages to block the other one with his shield.*

Namond:<Looks clear.>

Cassandra:<What now?>

Safian:<We might as well look around a bit.>

*The three start heading up the stairs*

"Then let us get going," Zac said, holstering his pistol, and heading back over to the group.

Sab pulls the sword out of the door, falling on her butt once it is dislodged. Standing up, she goes over to Roatha, "I got your sword. You're going to be alright, right?"

Mimiru backs off, using Chakra. Azuma attacks the Constructs.

~Brigands' Den~

*As they're heading towards the stairs, the thief springs back up, revived to full. He charges after them.*

~Nelveska~

*The Construct pursues her, punching her again. This critically wounds her, but its fist falls apart, followed by its head, then the rest of its limbs, until it's just a pile of broken steel.*

~Lionel~

R"I'm glad...he didn't...kill you...."

*Roatha slips away again as Beowulf emerges with Reis.*

E"Is he--?"

Beowulf<He is not dead, but nor is he among the living.>

E"You mean he's undead?!"

Beowulf<Yay...nay. He is un-dead, but not undead. He is stricken unconscious.>

E"So when will he wake up?"

Beowulf<I cannot say.>

*They arrive in Lesalia to find the city streets empty. A blond woman in a Lionsguard uniform races up to them. Ovelia looks hopeful.*

Lionsguard<You cannot--Oh, Lady Ovelia! A thousand-fold pardons, Your Highness, it has been so long since I saw you last.>

*She bows. Ovelia frowns.*

Ovelia<Where is Lady Agrias Oaks?>

Lionsguard<T'was...my impression that she was in the company of the heretic Ramza Beoulve...and that they disappeared into Orbonne together...is that not correct?>

Ovelia<Oh...yes.>

*Meanwhile, Divum finally gets that message.*

*Cassandra charges at him, while Namond shots him*

"That was a lot of words to simply say he was unconscious..." Mortal said as she made her way over to Euryale's side.

Noct floated lazily down next to Sab, and put a hand on her shoulder, "Cheer up. He is alive, Mortal killed her bad guy, the damsel is saved. All in all, today was a good day."

"People died, and our friends have been hurt," Sab replied.

Noct frowned, "I thought I was the downer in the group..."

Zac heads off to whatever would be the most popular inn in Lesalia, "I'm going to go. I'm expecting a letter."

Divum responded to Zac's letter with a brief explanation that Mortal was a woman that Noctis brought home close to three years ago, and that she was taken into the family as a daughter. He also noted that Mortal went to school, and obeyed her parents like a good daughter, and that she was a better heir than Zac ever would be.

He then signed his letter, sealed it with a dab of wax, and sent it off with a messenger to the local inn, per Zac's request.

*The thief tries & fails to use Steal Heart, making some kind of gyrating motion with his hips.*

E"Senthose has his spell now, and the only other person who could perform it is dead. He also knows we killed the Cardinal. One word to the Church, and we're as good as dead. He has everything he wanted, and we're in debt to him for his silence."

*Euryale hoists Roatha over her shoulder.*

E"We should go back to Lesalia. There is nothing good for us waiting here."

*Reis & Beowulf whisper amongst each other, then Beowulf steps forward.*

Beowulf<We are forever in your debt for what you have done for us. We will either join you, or head off to serve as a decoy--as we are already deemed heretics. In which way may we be of service?>

"Okay, I guess I'll just continue to help the Princess."

Delia<Actually, we've no need of your services. For the moment, you are off duty.>

"Oh...okay, then...I guess I'll just...go off...to do something else...alone...."

"Seriously, you two," Noct said, "I'll start moping about, and bringing everyone's day down if you keep this up. I have a reputation to maintain."

"You owe us nothing," Mortal said, "Do whatever you want to, but please do not throw your lives away as a simple diversion."

Zac turned around, "You're more than welcome to come along with me. After I get the letter I can show you around town."

*Cassandra slashes at him again, looking very grossed out*

Mimiru proceeds to heal herself while Azuma takes to the remaining Construct.

*I'm not sure what that's supposed to mean, but either way, the Construct falls apart.*

Beowulf<We've no intention of dying. Should you ever need to reach us, just ask at a tavern. We'll do our best to keep our ears perked.>

Azuma: "No Iron Collossus the tavernmaster said. Instead there's a damn army of them. When we get back home I'm telling him his information sucked."

Mimiru: "There's still the treasure."

Azuma: "That is true."

Taiyo comes up to the two.

Taiyo: "Let's go. Complain later."

Mimiru: "That's the proper attitude."

Zac smiled, waited for Lilith to catch up, then headed off towards the inn, "Great. Have you been to Lesalia before?"

"If our paths cross again may they be under more pleasant circumstances," Mortal said with a smile. Sab also curtsied, "It was a pleasure, Sir Beowulf, and Lady Ries."

Noct waved goodbye, "Well, I think it is about time we got out of here."

"I'm afraid not. It's a lot bigger, and nicer than Limberry, though."

Beowulf<I must admit, it would not displease me to fight by your sides again some day.>

"Enjoy yourselves, you two."

*The temple isn't going anywhere.*

"Bigger, yes, but I prefer Limberry," Zac said, "The people are great, especially you."

"So, back to Lesalia?" Noct asked, putting an arm around Sab, and pulling her into a hug.

"Uh, I guess so," Sab said, returning the hug, and eventually smiling from Noct's warmth.
