T"Wasn't Meramon pretty insistent that he didn't work for Devimon anymore?"

Taiyo: "When did a Meramon ever work for Devimon?"

Azuma: "As riveting as this discussion is, Hitomi looks on the injured side and Salamon looks not like Salamon. Why not put this topic on hold to get them looked at then discuss it as a whole?"

*Kylie nods*

<Yeah, Devimon got them pretty bad.>

Lunamon:<Sorry I couldn't protect you two, I was trying.>

*And so they're shipped off to Hypnos medical wing. Hitomi is led out after her examination is over.*

Nurse<There's not really much we can do about the Digimon. Hitomi's sustained some blunt force trauma, probably from a small explosion. It's minor enough that it should heal on its own, but we'd like her to come in twice daily for check-ups.>

*After a beep, the elevator doors open & Yamaki walks out.*

Yamaki<I'm told you've found something?>

D<Sort of. As you probably know, the Digital World is divided into different zones, with different environments, inhabited by different Digimon. Well, the zone I belonged to was ruled by a tyrannical Devimon, & Meramon was one of his many henchmen. At first I thought they'd finally worked up the gall to invade the human world--they were very warlike--but Meramon told me that Devimon was old news, & he had a new, stronger master now. But these guys-->

*She gestures with her wing to Hitomi & Kylie.*

<--Say they fought Devimon.>

Nyaromon still doesn't look any less upset.

Azuma: "Was Devimon always this powerful? How many other Digimon can overpower a couple of Champion's with a number of do-dads thrown in?"

D<I don't know, I didn't fight this Devimon, & I wasn't crazy enough to fight him back then.>

Yamaki<Come with me back to the computer. With the information recorded from your D-Powers, we may be able to recreate a simulation of the fight.>

Kylie:<Yeah, we fought devimon.>

Lunamon:<He was really strong, even with all of our cards, we couldn't beat him. Speaking of that, can we have our card back Azuma?>

*Cameron and biyomon sit outside the base*

Cameron:<This really isn't fair. We did the same damn work as everyone else, and yet we still have to wait outside.>

Azuma: "Oh, yeah sure."

Azuma returns the card then follows Yamaki and co.

*The D-Powers are plugged into USB cables. After a few minutes, they project a static-ridden 3D view of the capitol building.*

Yamaki<This method only records from data points based on what the Digimon see, touch, or otherwise experience, so it's fairly limited. But we should still have enough coverage to see Degimon's skillset.>

*At this point, the field of vision tunnels in on the capitol building as Salamon sprouts a Garurucannon & shoots into it. Yamaki looks down at her as the field follows Devimon up into the air. Salamon is able to watch as she is effortlessly destroyed. It is arguably even more pathetic from a 3rd person perspective.*

"Is that anything like the Devimon you know?"

B<No. I mean, in some ways, but that card is derived from a Mega-level attack, no Champion should be able to destroy it so easily. Maybe if it had been used a couple of times first, but not from the start of the fight.>

Nyaromon turns around in Hitomi's arms, bringing her tail over her eyes.

Azuma: "Don't be ashamed. I'm sure you put up a hell of a fight."

Nyaromon: "You're watching it, aren't you? Shut up!"

Lunamon:<You did fine. Had you not been there, the same thing would have probably happened to me.>

*Speaking of bad things happening to Lunamon, the simulation now becomes a hazy image of the capitol building & a much clearer image of the sky, displaying Lekismon's disastrous air battle. Devimon ducks in & out of view as Lekismon tumbles to the ground several times, reverting on the final time.*

Yamaki<So the attacks today were Devimon's invasion?>

D<Probably not all of them. The Digimon that Taiyo described didn't seem like his type.>

Yamaki<So there are at least 2 distinct groups of Digimon attacking us.>

D<Of course. Angemon & Devimon would never work together. Not in a million years.>

*Meanwhile, Devimon's retreat is playing in the background.*

Yamaki<From his words, it's obvious that he didn't bring an invasion army with him. This was a raid. He planned on attacking for a few minutes, then returning to the Digital World. Riley, see if you can trace that signal. I want Devimon's lair to be one of the places we explore when the Digital Gate is finished tomorrow.>

*Lunamon is smiling, having done way better than Salamon*

Lunamon:<How will you take him on without digimon?>

*Cameron kicks a wall, bored*

Azuma: "I heard the JSDF intervened during the odd big Digimon attack those years ago. Weren't very successful if I recall. Perhaps Hypnos has their own task force."

Yamaki<You are dismissed for the day.>

Riley<Sir, I believe they still have about 50 minutes on the clock.>

Yamaki<Exactly. If I have to keep listening to them prattle on about fighting for another 50 minutes, I'll have to light one up.>

Azuma: "Could always address that issue of confronting a Digimon without another."

Lunamon:<Yeah, what are you hiding?>

*Kylie glares at Lunamon*

Yamaki<Need I remind you that most of you are on probation? You were dismissed. Leave now.>

*Kylie and Lunamon shrug and start walking towards the door*

Lunamon:<Hey Azuma, you should trade phone numbers with all of us. In case something comes up.>

Azuma: "Eh, might be a good idea."

Taiyo: "I guess we should take you two home, huh?"

Hitomi: "Okay."

Taiyo and Hitomi begin to leave.

*Presumably they're still exchanging numbers when they get outside.*

When outside, Renamon takes off out of sight.

Taiyo: "I guess we'll be going."

Azuma: "Mind if I tag along? Heading in that direction anyways, but if you want another set of hands of anything."

Taiyo: "I don't mind."

Hitomi: "If you want to."

*Cameron jumps up at the arrival of the others*

Cameron:<How'd it go?>

Lunamon:<Not well.>

*Biyomon dedigivolves, then gets picked up by Cameron*

Yokomon:<What's the plan now?>

*Thiera crosses his arms.*

T"Well, I think he's right. Every time he talks about going into the Digital World, you guys immediately start talking about fighting. Give it a rest, there's more to the world than that."

*Euryale shrugs, not wanting any part of this.*

E"I guess we'll see you guys tomorrow."

Lunamon;<The thing is, if the team gets attacked, they'll be killed. We wouldn't want that to happen.>

*Kylie waves*

<Bye guys, see you tomorrow!>

Cameron:<Yeah, it was awesome to see you all again. Thanks for the help Thiera, I owe you one.>
