Old Ones Return (II)

Azuma: "Let's regroup and get back to our world."

Angemon reverts back to Patamon and Gatomon back to Salamon.

Azuma: "We'll get you two looked at as soon as possible."

The two and their partners set off down the path towards the village.

Taiyo and Renamon follow after Euryale and Agumon.

*Agumon eventually spies a group of surviving Geckomon & ToyAgumon huddled around a lagoon. There are about a dozen of them, & all of them have multiple holes exposing gridlines on their bodies.*

A<Follow me!>

*He & Euryale swoop down. The others are also close enough to notice & hear him.*

*Kylie, holding Lunamon, follows*

*Cameron and Biyomon continue gathering eggs*

Azuma: "Damn it. We were way in over our heads."

*Euryale turns when she hears them approach.*

"That bad?"

*Digi-Eggs are rather large, so they gather less than 10 before their arms are full.*

Azuma: "A little. And we got soundly beat hard. We have to get back to our world."

Kylie:<He digivolved to ultimate. We had no chance after that.>

*Lunamon tries to wiggle out of Kylie's arms, but is stopped. Kylie then starts healing Lunamon*

*They deposed the eggs in the center of the room before heading out to join the others*

*A ToyAgumon missing an arm approaches them.*

TA<So...what about the village?>

*Euryale scratches the back of her head before turning to him or her. She's not really sure.*

"Well...I'm afraid that your chief was...deleted, or something. Many of your eggs were destroyed, but about a third survived. I don't know about the rest of your people. I'm very sorry for your loss."

*Agumon tugs on Azuma's clothes to get his attention.*

A<Is the weird hybrid thing after us? That's probably important information to know.>

Lunamon:<He disappeared.>

*Lunamon waves at the arriving Cameron and Biyomon*

Azuma: "He buggered off for whatever reason. It's why we managed to get here."

A<Oh. Well, that's good.>

TA<There's nothing good about it! Our Chief is dead, our village is practically defenseless, what are we going to do?!>

Azuma: "Is there anywhere else you can go?"

Kylie:<I wish we could stay and protect you, but we have to get back to our own world.>

TA<What's the point? They'll catch us wherever we go.>

"...Gather up all of your survivors, & hurry. We'll take you back to Hypnos, & find you a new home."

A<Huh!? Can...can we do that...?>

"They keep partner Digimon, don't they?"

A<I think that's a little different....>

"Well, it doesn't matter. We're not just going to leave them, & there's no one here to tell us that we can't."

*Lunamon grins*

<We'll find you awesome partners!>

Azuma: "This likely won't go over well."

TA<Don't take this the wrong way, but we don't really want to be some human's pet.>

A<Partner!>

"Well, then we'll just heal you, find you a new place to live, & get you back as soon as possible."

Azuma: "That could take an awfully long time and we have our own wounded to attend to as well."

Lunamon:<I'm fine.>

*Kylie glares at the still injured Lunamon, who she was in the process o healing*

*Euryale turns & puts her hands on her hips, glaring at Azuma.*

TA<Okay...we'll hop right to it, Miss! Thank you very much!>

*They scrabble into the jungle, making bird calls.*

Azuma: "What? I'm not suggesting we abandon them. It's just the longer we stay here, the greater chance of the enemy returning and no one is in any shape to try and hold them off again."

Lunamon:<We can't just leave them. They'll die.>

Biyomon:<Azuma does have a point though.>

*Lunamon glares at Biyomon*

"Yeah, that's why we're taking them to Hypnos. Aren't you paying any attention at all?"

Azuma: "Tha- Oh man, I don't even care anymore. Who has the what's it called?"

*They all shakes their heads*
