Old Ones Return (III)

E"Whatever. Should we go back, or keep moving?"

*They eventually arrive in a cavernous chamber with a bunch of sleeping Quetzalmon hanging upside-down from the ceiling. Balanced on an altar in the center of the chamber is a strange item: A glowing feather crackling with electricity.*

*The Golemon is eventually brought down.*

*Lekismon and Saberdramon revert and join their partners*

Cameron:<Good job guys!>

*They look for an exit to the room*

Azuma: "Anyone want to wake one up?"

Patamon: "Nope."

Taiyo: "We won't know what's at the end if we turn back. I bet we're almost there."

*It continues to be a hallway that they're in.*

"Okay."

*And so they continue forward until they wind up at a sheer drop-off of about 50 feet.*

*They walk down the hallway, careful not to step anywhere that looks suspicious*

Azuma: "Wakey wakey?"

Taiyo: "I guess we should have turned around..."

"No way. With a drop off this big, there's gotta be something down there. And we can get down there with our Hyper Wings."

*And so she gives Agumon wings.*

*His voice continues echoing. Some of the Quetzalmon stir slightly.*

*This is pointless because it would be hard to see even a poorly concealed trap in pitch darkness, but regardless, they don't trigger any. After a great deal of walking, the hall turns & they come to a choice of left or right staircase.*

Patamon: "Dare you to go out and touch one."

Azuma: "No."

Taiyo: "It could just be a big hole."

Regardless, Renamon Digivolves and Taiyo bestows her with Aero Wing.

*They decide to take the left staircase*

*Down at the bottom, they continue walking until they come to a 50 foot elevation. Once Agumon starts to climb it, it triggers one of those traps where a bunch of arrows start to fly out of the walls on either side of them. As if that wasn't enough, the floor begins to slide away to reveal one of those spike pit traps.*

*Once they get near the top of the staircase, the room they are in rotates, until they are now back outside of the pyramid, tumbling painfully down the stone stairs.*

*Azuma & co. continue being wankers.*

*Cameron and Kylie stand up*

Cameron:<Great. Now we have to go back though.>

*They head back into the same entrance as they used before, taking the same path except for choosing the right staircase instead of the left*

*Okay, first of all, they don't just get up from tumbling down 3 flights of stone stairs. Second of all, as they lay there battered & bruised, they hopefully remember that the first two-way fork they came from, their original path is now blocked by a stone wall, because of the trap that was triggered.*

*Alright then. They sit there for a few minutes, trying to regain some strength. After doing this, the four head down the path they have not tried yet*

Azuma: "Wake up!"

The two step back into the hallway or wherever they came from.

Taiyo: "We should go back!"

*This path eventually turns. The next path extends for about 30 feet into a dead end.*

*In a burst of movement & noise, a bunch of Quetzalmon are now flying around the chamber, screeching angrily.*

*This causes them to evade immediately falling into the spike pit, but there are still arrows flying at them. Seeing Taiyo & Renamon being morons, Agumon quickly digivolves, his bulk taking most of the arrows & crushing the spike trap. He reverts to Agumon, full of gashes, & then reverts once more to Koromon once he realizes that walking is a lost cause. He rolls around, covering his eyes & mouth with his ears as Euryale races over to pick him up.*

E"Koromon, are you okay!?"

*Koromon just groans.*

Patamon Digivolves leaving Angemon standing before them, staff in hand in a defensive stance.

Angemon: "Halt!"

Azuma: "Like they'll listen."

Taiyo: "Sorry, sorry, sorry!"

Taiyo races over to Koromon, D-Power in hand ready to heal him.

*Cameron groans*

<This is excellent.>

Lunamon:<What if there's some kind of secret switch?>

*Lunamon, the only one who can really see, looks around for anything suspicious*

*Nope.*

*They do not listen, & in fact upon spotting them, fly in a circle & try to blast them with lightning.*

*Euryale also assists with the healing.*

"He's pretty torn up, I don't think he's going to be able to fight if we run into anything."

A<Pu...put it on....>

"What?"

*They head back outside*

Kylie:<Should we try to go find the others?>

Cameron:<I guess. Let's go find find Euryale and Taiyo.>

*They head into the entrance Euryale and Taiyo entered*

They back up into the hallway so they're behind Angemon who remains in the doorway.

Azuma: "They're cranky. Go out and bop them on the head."

Angemon takes flight while the others move further back into the hallway.

Taiyo: "The armor?"

*They panic, sending more concentrated bursts of lightning, & also wind & hail, at Angemon.*

"Oh, right. I guess I really should have been prepared. Here, can you hold him?"

*She offers Koromon. Once someone takes him, she swipes the card. Her body glows silver-blue as ankle guards, wrist guards, a plate that contains her torso, & a skirt of long plates form, all seemingly made of steel. Euryale looks down at herself.*

"Not bad, but it would look better if it were in bronze."

*Much like Euryale, they come to the 3 sets of doors, although one has been sealed in by another of those stone wall traps.*

Angemon hovers and spins his staff attempting to deflect the attacks with God Typhoon.

Taiyo: "I kinda hoped it'd be more glowy and Magical Girl-like. It still looks pretty cool."

*They choose the middle door, if it is not the one closed off*

Cameron:<They probably went though the blocked one.>

*And so they instead try to fly at him & beat him with their wings & sharp tail endings.*

*They eventually come to a sheer drop off that they can hear voices at the bottom of.*
=============================
*Euryale is fiddling with her fingers when a foot long blade suddenly shoots out from above her wrist.*

E"Now THAT is cool."

A<...Can we please get out of here so I can sleep?>

Angemon flies back, swinging his staff.

Taiyo looks up at the elevation.

Taiyo: "I guess we didn't find anything."
