Old Ones Return (III)

Azuma: "Took a wrong turn at Albuqurque. Our hokey map was scratched to Hell and likely was not one of the temple."

E"What map? Your D-Power map?"

*Agumon comes down carrying a pair of broken branches that are on fire at one end.*

Azuma: "No, a map on a pedestal back there."

He jerks at a thumb in the direction they came from.

*Saberdramon keeps at a good distance and uses Night Roar again. Kylie slashes Aero Wing, which Lekismon then uses on the Golemon*

*There isn't really anywhere to go, but the attacks knock the Golemon back a little. After a while, though, they dig in & keep advancing, their rock hard exteriors allowing them to withstand the attacks.*

"Oh. So, is it completely unreadable?"

*Cameron slashes his power plug in, and Kylie uses Twin Sickles. Saberdramon then uses Black Saber on one Golemon, while Lekismon slashes at the other with her Sickles*

Azuma: "Unreadable enough. Only really shows the village and a river. Everything else is scratched up."

E"Well then, I guess it only makes sense to move forward. So the right door is out. I say we go straight ahead."

A"No way, that's where they'll be expecting us to go, and therefore where the giant boulder or spike pit will be."

E"This isn't Indiana Jones, Agu. Temples don't have elaborate death traps in them."

A"This is the Digital World. Anything could happen."

*The Golemon, now missing a few chunks, spew superheated gas from their mouths at their attackers, while the 3rd tries to move behind them.*

*Saberdramon flaps his wings to blow the gases back at the Golemon, while Lekismon flies around to slash at the one trying to sneak behind them*

Azuma: "Then we'll take the left path, if we're still keen on splitting up."

*This is semi-effective, in the sense that they are both damaged. Again, there is no room to fly, Lekismon just takes a particularly hard punch to the face, the other Golemon grabbing one of its wings & pulling.*

"Sounds like a plan. Just be careful, alright?"

Azuma: "Always am."

Patamon & Salamon roll their eyes as they go down the path.

*Saberdrmon uses Night Roar again, while Lekismon slashes at the one pulling on its wing, then uses Aero Wing if she can*

*One of its wings is broken, so the attack is at half-strength. The Golemon attacking Saberdramon is severely injured, but nonetheless presses home its attack. The remaining Golemon punches Lekisimon in the back.*

*Turns out the left door was trapped. They end up in a small room when spikes emerge from the ceiling & it begins slowly sliding down to crush them. The door has been sealed up in stone.*

*Taiyo & Friends are heading down a hallway. It is unclear where it lets out.*

Patamon and Salamon Digivolve. Angemon blasts at the spikes with Heaven's Knuckle while Gatomon uses Cocytus Breath when the card is swiped. Azuma and Hitomi feel around the walls and floor for a switch.

Taiyo: "Awfully long hallway, huh?"

*Saberdramon repeats the attack, while Lekismon tries ro turn and block the attack with her sickle, then slashes at its head*

*Because Salamon does not know the meaning of the word "self-control," the trap is broken & there is now a large hole in the roof where it used to be.*

*The Golemon attacking Saberdramon is no longer able to hold itself together, & begins breaking apart into data that lights up the hallway. When Lekismon turns, the Golemon grabs her attack & begins trying to tear off the sickle arm, while the other bites into her wing/shoulder area from behind.*

"Yeah, really."

*That's when the room shakes & they hear the sound of a muffled explosion. Euryale jerks, & turns in that direction, as does Agumon.*

"What in the world was that?!"

<Sounded like an explosion from the other hallway.>

*Saberdramon turns and uses Black Saber on the one biting the sickle arm, while Lekismon tries to use Tear arrow on the same one*

So they resolve to stand under the hole in the ceiling as one big happy family.

Taiyo: "Maybe Agumon was right about there being traps here."

*She manages to shoot its head off at point blank because if I haven't been concerning myself with the logistics of drawing an arrow with sickle arms so far, I really shouldn't start now. The other one absorbs the data of its fallen comrades. They luck out because there is no Digivolution for Golemon & I got bored searching for something suitable, so it just heals its wounds & attacks them with superheated gas from its mouth & back chimney things.*

A<Ha! I told you so!>

*He points his claw at Euryale, who crosses her arms & turns away.*

"TECHNICALLY, you said there would be traps in THIS hallway."

A<Aw, come on! There were still traps! That counts!>

"Does not."

<Quit being a sore loser.>

"You're a sore loser!"

*Saberdramon uses Night Roar to counter the gas, followed by another Tear Arrow from Lekismon*

OOC: SkullMeramon would've been funny.

They either climb through the hole if the ceiling has come down or if it stopped, Hitomi picks Gatomon up and Angemon carries them up through the hole.

Taiyo: "If it makes you feel better, there could be some in this hallway...wait, nevermind, sorry!"

"Yeah, really, shouldn't you be on MY side?"

*They find themselves in another hallway, one which extends only in 1 direction.*

*The Golemon tries to fist pound Lekismon's head like they're in Looney Toons.*

They go down that hallway.

Taiyo: "I was trying to avoid picking sides."

*Lekismon tries to get out of the way then fires another Tear Arrow at Golemon's head. Saberdramon uses Night Roar again*
