It fires a blast with enough force to lift an enemy off the ground.

Like a kinetic energy bombardment a smaller scale.

I don't think you understand how force works, it goes in a particular direction, something happening above you doesn't just magically lift you off of the ground like what inexplicably happens when a Dragonball Z character powers up.

Good thing that isn't what's being described, but somehow even the simplest analogies are lost on you.

I had wanted to say that I was sorry to all of you. Basically at work I was blamed for something that wasn't really my fault, and the resulting cleanup was very difficult to handle. It consumed a great deal of my time, and I hadn't meant to neglect this forum by any means, so I do hope that there are no hard feelings. Ironically my editor had actually issued me an apology today and acknowledged that I hadn't actually caused any mistake.

Being that he's from Space Paranoids, which is the world originally based on Tron, he doesn't exactly like water. Computer boards and water aren't exactly the best of friends. As a result, he's asking if Thiera would transform him into something that doesn't hate it.

Also, I meant to thank you for reading up on LoA to give me such a thorough response, but having apparently contracted the Red Death, my memory is even worse than usual tonight.

Yeah, basically. I just need to know appearance: type of tail, coloration, anything worn on the upper body, etc. It's mainly so we know what you look like & I can head off anything that might contradict the RP's continuity before it makes it in.

For example, if you signed up a blowhole--which I don't know why you would, but if you did--I would point out that merpeople in the Little Mermaid continuity can clearly breathe both water & air.

Now if you've been having problems with the Red Death, do you think that offering you a restorative item that gives you +3 or +4 health might help to cure the disease? That always helps me when I get sick, you know. As for the merman form description, do you think it'd be possible to make him shark-like? I realize that he'll still not be used to the water at all, and that might be entirely too organic for him, but I bet that it would at least suit his personality and he'd appreciate the speed that such a form would provide if nothing else.

Mortal did it, & Safian is apparently going to turn into a shark proper, so it's not the most original, & the merpeople don't really like it, but yes, it is possible. Depending on to what extent you mean by "sharklike," I suppose.

EDIT: In other news, I have to go to bed now.

Oh that's right, I actually had forgotten about Safian's form, so I'm sorry about that. I'm trying to think of what else might be unique but fit his character. How would they respond to something like a Marlin? Would the other merfolk treat it in the same way? I don't know if I want to go really off the wall and make him some sort of a mollusk, or if that would even really be allowed.

Evidence seems to suggest that a merperson's tail could look like anything in the ocean.

Being a mollusk seem like it would suck more than being a catfish.

I would be a catfish, catfish are cool. Or a coelacanth. Or, if I really want to strike terror into the hearts of my enemies, the Japanese giant spider crab.

I just saw those things at an aquarium. Shit be creepy.

Having given it some more thought, and having had catfish mentioned here, I was wondering how everyone would take to a Koi form for Kyohaku. I actually went to have a look at some artwork of koi-inspired merfolk, and I thought that it would have fit his background if nothing else. On one hand it does seem a bit elegant, but I like the idea overall if everyone else does. Am I supposed to describe any extra abilities here, or just the new form for him? If everything seems to check out, then I'll send this over with my next post when the thread gets updated again. The other thing I can think to do is keep up the electricity theme by picking either an eel or perhaps a jellyfish.

I like the sound of a koi fish tail (Neo suggested a catfish for Safian). Just update your profile with his Atlantica form, similar to what I did for Safian.

You describe the new form & I give it the okay. The abilities remain the same.

In the region of Atlantica, Kyohaku takes the form of a merman who developed a long white scaly gossamer koi fish tail that was speckled with orange spots. The area where his body and tail attach is completely with an upward flourish of flesh that seemed to be made from the same material as a koi's fins. Likewise his motions seem to mimic those famous ornamental fish darting back and forth through the recreational ponds that they were so often kept in for meditative enjoyment.

I am partial to my recent idea that he should become a really big protozoa.
