Old Ones Return (IV)

Taiyo: "Okay. I'll be there in a bit."

*Kylie nearly drops the phone*

{What...are we going to do?}

T"Euryale wants us to meet at Hypnos."

E"Alright, see you there."

After hanging up, Taiyo gets ready and leaves, stopping across the hall at Hitomi's.

Hitomi: "Hello."

Taiyo: "There's an emergency. Euryale wants us to meet at Hypnos. Can you call Azuma?"

Hitomi nods and goes back inside to call him, returning a few minutes later with Salamon in tow.

Hitomi: "He'll meet us there."

And so they set off.

{Right, we're leaving now. See you in a bit.}

*Kylie hangs up and nods at Cameron, then the pair exit with their partners. They head to Hypnos*

*Once everyone is gathered, Riley & Tally bring up an image on the viewscreen surrounding the room, of a platform of some kind of shiny blue-black rock, suspended over a canyon illuminated by the glow of magma. The image is of a single stillshot of Barbatos holding Kurata with a gun to his head. Kurata appears to be unconscious, bleeding from a minor head wound.*

Yamaki<We received this transmission from the Digital World, as well as a copy of the phone call to Euryale, which was traced to a cheap cell phone that was recently purchased, & likely disposed of. The call came from inside of Shinjuku, so we believe that he Bio-Emerged. It is likely his plan to finish all of you off, then come through the Digital Gate & destroy Hypnos.>

Lunamon:<We can't comply with their demands, we'll all end up deader than dead.>

Cameron:<Mr. Yamaki I hope you have some sort of plan.>

Azuma: "It's not exactly the most elaborate of traps. If he Bio-Emerged, why not attack us here?"

*Euryale crosses her arms.*

E"Because he wants to bring us all into the Digital World & surround us, rather than to have to hunt us down one by one."

T"We can't just leave the Professor!"

E"No, we can't. Even if we wanted to, there would be no one to maintain & operate the Digital Gate. Plus, we can't just neglect the Digital World forever. Eventually, we're going to have to go."

Yamaki<What do you expect me to tell you? I just heard of all this. We're also picking up on mass disappearances of Digimon in the 5th Sector.>

E"So they're also fighting the Celestials, at the same time...was our plan ever approved?"

Yamaki<No. But, considering the circumstances, I think I can bring the higher ups around.>

Azuma: "That's not exactly reassuring."

Cameron:<It's pretty much our only opinion.>

E"I think he's right. We have no other choice. Yamaki, warm up the Digital Gate & try to get us back-up while we're in there."

Yamaki<Hey, hey, I'm in charge here!>

*He nonetheless grabs his ID & heads for the elevator.*

*They follow Yamaki to the digital gate*

As the plan is to apparently follow Yamaki, they do so.

Yamaki<The Digital Gate is already primed for your destination. I'll try to move the point of entry slightly, so you don't walk right into a trap.>

*Once he has it warmed up & they go through, they see Senthose pacing nearby. Seeing the lights dancing on the floor of the path, he turns.*

<Good, you're finally here. I was beginning to think that you didn't actually care about the good doctor's life.>

*Senthose pushes a button on his Digivice & the Digital Gate closes.*

That's not a good sign.

Azuma: "Where's the doctor?"

*Kylie looks behind her, watching the gate close*

Lunamon:<We're here, so give him back.>

Senthose<Do we even need to go through that? You've served your purpose. Now it's over. What ever happened to accepting your death with honor?>

E"Bizarre racist shit aside, what purpose?"

*He points to the sky.*

Senthose<Do I have to spell it out? We had to race blindly through the Digital Streams to find the next land to conquer, & spend days mapping our position.>

*And now he lowers his arm to point at them.*

Senthose<But the Digimon came right to you, to tell you how to get here. But you weren't their saviors. No, you're their messengers of death.>

*And now he sweeps his arms broadly.*

Senthose<And now I stand at the throne rooms of the Digital World, while my forces descend on its last defense. Its lightless angels. Without you, none of this would be possible.>

Lunamon:<I give that like a 5.>

*No one looks very impressed*

Azuma: "The doctor. Where is he?"

Senthose<You don't want to know. But, if you insist, right this way.>

*He turns & starts to walk when an enormous flaming bird passes overhead, buffeting them with winds dropping hot cinders. Senthose, Euryale, Thiera, Agumon, & Wizardmon look up.*

Senthose<Well, this is a slight surprise.>

Azuma: "The hell is that?"

*Biyomon and Lunamon watch, mouths open*

Cameron:<Hell if I know.>

*It lands behind them, shaking the ground.*

Zuuquaimon<How dare you despicable, treacherous beasts disgrace this place with your presence?!>

*Kylie bows*

<We didn't mean to come here. He's a bad person and holding our friend hostage.>

*She points at Senthose*
