Better Left Forgotten

*Assuming no one else is trying to escape from the window, Euryale's group runs down a dark corridor towards the stairwell doors. After throwing them open, they walk out of a room near the front door. Presumably, they look around.*

E"How did--"

*While they're looking around, the masked man grabs Taiyo from behind, covering her mouth with one hand & dragging her by the abdomen with the other. Once outside, he draws a switchblade, but Euryale had caught a glimpse of him & raced out.*

E"HEY!"

*Seeing her run towards him, he lets go & races off into the woods. She points after him. In the sunlight, the nasty 2 inch gash on her bicep covered with dry blood can be seen clearly. Up above, Roatha, Nero, & Thiera can be seen climbing into a 3rd story window by lowering themselves onto the sill & edging along it.*

E"You'd better run! Next time I see you, I'll kill you!"

*Lilith comes out, followed by Aroma & presumably Sab. Lilith looks around.*

L"Are you alright? Where's my sister?"

*Eve points up at the window group, while Cameron looks around*

<Astarte, Noct?!>

Taiyo hides behind Euryale.

Taiyo: "Are you okay?"

Azuma: "Up above."

*Euryale looks at her arm, grimacing.*

E"Eww...but never mind me."

*She looks up, & approaches Taiyo.*

E"He didn't do anything to you, did he?"

*No sooner does Thiera disappear into the 3rd story window than the Shadow emerges from the 4th story window, slithering down the wall like a snake & following her inside.*

L"We have to go back!"

A"No, we can't! Did you see all of those shadows? They could be here any minute!"

*Aroma bites the fingers of her free hand & keeps casting glances around, especially at the door.*

*Cameron looks to Hector, then turns on his flashlight and slowly walks back inside*

<Astarte, Thiera, Roatha, Nero, Noct!>

*Eve goes to stand by Lilith*

Taiyo: "No..."

Mimiru yanks on Hector's collar.

Mimiru: "What the hell are you doing? If you go back in there, there's a good chance you're not coming back out."

Sab stands beside Aroma, also in fear, but when she sees Thiera getting chased by the Shadow Sab feels a pang of guilt, "No, Lilith is right, we should go back. I don't want to leave anyone to die again!"

Noct, who had followed Euryale, shakes her head, "We can't go back in there. As soon as we go down a hall we might get lost again."

*Aroma yelps & jumps aside as a dark hand emerges from the wall near her head. Another follows it as a Shadow Figure pulls its upper body out of the stone wall. Another follows suit on the other side of the doorway. Out of the doorway, shadowy hands emerge from various angles, even from the ceiling. The figures behind them remain unseen--as soon as the flashlight touches them, they flit away to somewhere else. Euryale grabs Lilith, yelling to be heard over Aroma's screaming.*

E"If you go back in there, you'll be killed before you can take 2 steps, that won't help them!"

*Lilith jerks away.*

L"Well, neither will running away & leaving them behind!"

*Euryale throws her arms out.*

E"Fine, we don't have to abandon them, but we can't stay here!"

*Seeing a Shadow Figure disengage from the wall & come towards them, she turns to Taiyo, Sabroma, & co.*

E"Start running, we'll be right behind you!"

*Cameron runs back out, heading to the others*

<I don't know how they could make it out of there!>

*Eve takes a set back, biting her lip, then starts leading the way away from the monsters*

I'm not Euryale, I'd be a nuisance here.

Taiyo starts running.

Hector lit up another flare and threw it down in the center of the emerging Shadows, then turned to Noct and Astarte- who looked like her knees were on the verge of failing her and had distinctly bloody lips- "Get out of here now!"
He grabbed Eduj by the shoulder and shoved him towards them, "Carry her if you have to."
He looked back towards the creatures.

OOC: Getting mighty tired of holding shit up.

*Most of the Shadows just ignore it, but it hits one directly, sinking into its chest as though the fuse was burning into it. After a moment, both it & the flare sizzle away into nothingness. Euryale half-drags-half-carries Lilith into the forest. Meanwhile, the Shadows surround Hector, Aroma having ran when Euryale said to.*

*Up above Taiyo's head, the trees shake as something jumps from the roof of the asylum onto the forest canopy.*

The other two take off, Mimiru helping get Lilith out.

Taiyo stops, damn near tripping and frantically looks back to see who's all with her.

*Cameron grabs Astarte's hand then runs off towards safety, assuming Noctis will follow*

*Assuming that is the direction everyone who ran is, Eve is with her*

Sab just screamed and ran with Aroma.

Noctis ran with Astarte, only dallying long enough to see the effects of the flare on the shadow.

Eduj ran behind Noct, Cameron and Astarte, giving the latter a shove back onto her feet as she stumbled on weak knees.

Hector, using what was probably his last flare, tried to make an opening by lighting and tossing another into the Shadows.

*This doesn't stop the others from pouncing on him.*

*Aroma, Sab, Cameron, Astarte, & Noctis run past her. Lagging behind them are Eduj, Mimiru, Euryale, & Lilith. Euryale pushes Lilith on, turning to Taiyo.*

E"Come on, we have to keep running!"

*And so everyone keeps running*

Sab looked over her shoulder, "Wait, they've got Hector!"

Hector tried to struggle out of the opening he made.

"Lilith has more flares!" Eduj called out, skidding to a halt. "Use them!"

They press on, Mimiru still presumably helping Lilith along.

*There is no opening anymore, as Hector is forced to the ground. The shadows contort to cover him, so that all he knows is darkness & burning. The silhouette of the White Monster can be seen emerging from the doorway behind him as Euryale manages to catch up to Lilith & pull the flares from her pack.*

E"Meet us at the road! We'll catch up after we either save Hector or...well...."

*She clusters them together so she can light all of the fuses at once. Then she throws the match on the ground, steps on it, & pulls out her machete.*

Everyone followed the instructions, save Mortal, who nearly tripped as she openly stared at Euryale. Realizing that now wasn't the time for that however, she continues to run, not wanting to leave Sab and Aroma's side since they were practically defenseless on their own.

*Everyone is pretty surprised, but press on as they would just get in the way*

Eduj stood by Euryale, poised to run back and grab Hector. Astarte tried to look over her should as she ran with the others and tripped again.
