As they near the rock, Azuma, Eve, and Hitomi feel a familiar forboding precense. Hitomi looks from the rock to her D-Terminal.

Hitomi: "It's a line from a poem."

Taiyo: "Does it mean we should be here?"

Eve:<I've felt this before.>

Azuma: "It's..."

He shakes his head as he trails off.

Hitomi: "The Waste Land."

Azuma: "That sounds familiar. Can you recite a line?"

Hitomi:

"And the dead tree gives no shelter, the cricket no relief,
And the dry stone no sound of water. Only
There is shadow under this red rock,
(Come in under the shadow of this red rock),
And I will show you something different from either
Your shadow at morning striding behind you
Or your shadow at evening rising to meet you;"

Taiyo shudders.

Taiyo: "The first message said something about trees."

*He blasts a cannonball into the shadow.*

From the rock, comes a groan and the sound of something scamper off. Whatever it was being nowhere in sight.

Taiyo: "Can we go?"

And so the others follow, GRapidmon regressing and hopping onto Eve's shoulder, while Cameron and Saberdramon take to the air to scout ahead*

Raidramon takes off ahead of the group while Nefertimon and her passengers take flight.

The sky darkens as if night is approaching eventually reaching a grove of dead, scorched trees, the majority of their branches scattered on the ground.

Taiyo: "I guess this is it...?"
