Episode Two: The Point of Absolute Zero

"Digivolution," a computerized female voice rings out from all around them as they drift through the void. A white light surrounds each Digimon as they advance to their next stage.

Taiyo releases Viximon who at this point is shrouded in light.

Taiyo: "Viximon, you grew!"

Renamon: "Renamon from here on."

Salamon: "Salamon."

Patamon: "Patamon."

Azuma: "Awfully casual for drifting through whatever this is."

With each Digivolution, the Digimon recall their journey to the Material World required going through a gateway like they're in now.

OOC: <3 Harley, Butterfly is one of my favorite songs. I've never been able to find it in such good quality.

Koromon leaps off Hibiki's shoulder and is enveloped in the light of digivolution and digivolves to his next stage. When he next speaks his voice is much much deeper than the cheerful voice he before.

"Hibiki... I feel much stronger now"

"Koromon?"

"BlackAgumon"

"Great, now can you explain what's going on and why we're drifting through a white void?"

"We're going home Hibiki, my home, my world. So just lay back and enjoy the ride!" he grabs Hibiki by the arm and drags him to the front of everyone as they fly through the void.

*As light surrounds him, Gummymon jumps out of Eve's arms*

Terriermon:<I'm Terriermon!>

*Terriermon crawls up and sits on Eve's shoulder*

<I HAVE HANDS!>

*Moonmon looks up at Kylie as the light covers her*

Kylie:<You're a bunny.....>

Lunamon:<You've always wanted a bunny, and now you have me! I'm Lunamon.>

*The last of the three, Yokomon grins as he digivolves to Biyomon*

Cameron:<You're a bird?>

Biyomon:<Yup. My new name's Biyomon.>

OOC: It shouldn't be, it sucks, even by generic anime opening standards.

*Euryale looks at the Gigimon hanging off of her wrist expectantly.*

E"So...you're going to become a bigger lizard?"

*Suddenly, a goddamn raptor is in her face literally in a flash. Euryale freaks, & jerks her hand away on reflex. Guilmon looks sad.*

E"Gah! WAY bigger lizard!"

G<Please don't be afraid...it's still me, Gigimon. Only now my name is Guilmon.>

R"That doesn't make any JESUS WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE?!"

*He'd just spotted the Dorumon hanging off of his back.*

D<Dorumon.>

*Meanwhile, Aroma is just staring at the Lalamon in her arms.*

L<I...guess I'm Lalamon now.>

A"Okay...I'm still Aroma."

As they drift through the void they begin feeling cold especially those not dressed for it and another light flashes. When the light fades, Taiyo shrieks.

They're dumped in the middle of a barren, snow covered forest and Taiyo landed face-down, most of her body exposed to the snow.

*Euryale's natural instinct to protect the weak & pathetic kicks in & she dives in to rescue Taiyo, pulling her out & brushing the snow off of her. She hugs Taiyo to warm her up.*

E"Can you still do your warm bite thing?"

G<I don't think so.>

E"Well, can you...go back to normal? Just for a sec?"

*Roatha tells Dorumon to Aroma, which he does by curling his furry body around her & Lalamon.*

<"Th...thank you. Um...both.">

<"No problem.">

Taiyo hugs Euryale.

Taiyo: "Thanks, but I don't think it'll help my feet. Or yours."

It's not long before both Guilmon and BlackAgumon begin feeling ill. The other Digimon don't feel to swell either, but those two feel it the worst.

Azuma: "The Digital World is beautiful Koromon, said. All I'm seeing is barren, cold, and...a snowman?"

Not far from their position is a pitifully small snowman.

E"Well, I was going to suggest that we ride Guilmon, but he looks like shit."

R"Dorumon's still fine. I don't know if he can carry both of you, though."

D<But what about...uhh...?>

A"Um...my name is...Aroma...."

R"I can keep her warm."

*Aroma blushes, looking worried.*

A"I-I'll be fine."

R"Nonsense, you're going to get frostbitten, dressed like that."

"Guess I'm not cut out for cold weather huh?" BlackAgumon staggers and Hibiki braces him up.

"He's right. You did say that..."

"To be fair... I didn't think we'd land in the middle of an ice area.." he trails off.

"Let's just find a cave or some sort of shelter from the cold guys."

Azuma fiddles with his Digivice until he pulls up the 3D map.

Azuma: "Looks like one is close by."

He looks at the ground where they're standing. From where Taiyo landed is a trail of packed down snow.

Azuma: "That I bet we could get to if we follow these old tracks."

A large shadow passes overhead and the temperature drops dramatically. Azuma who's dressed for winter shivers then removes his jacket and holds it out to Taiyo who clings harder to Euryale.

Taiyo: "Th-th-thank you."

She reluctantly lets go of Euryale to remove her backpack and put the jacket on.

Patamon: "What if this path leads to an enemy?"

Azuma: "I don't know."

Salamon: "Sh-sh-shut up and get g-g-going!"

Terriermon:<Better to die in battle than freeze to death.>

*Eve shivers and starts down the path*

Lunamon:<Let's not end up dinner.>

*They follow*

Hibiki, the only other person dressed for winter isn't phased by the weather.

"If an enemy shows we can just burn it." BlackAgumon shoots a small gout of flame from his mouth, then instantly regrets it as it makes him feel whoosy again.

"Yeah let's pass on that for the moment and just start walking" Hibiki and BlkAgumon start down the path.

*Apparently left to freeze, Euryale clutches at her arms. Guilmon nudges Roatha's arm.*

R"...Do I have to?"

*When Guilmon gives him puppy dog eyes, Roatha sighs & wraps some of the cloak around him. They cuddle together all homoerotic-like as everyone moves forward.*

Taiyo wraps her arms around Euryale, shuffling as she walks because of being so close to Euryale she doesn't want to get far ahead of her and because she's losing feeling in her legs.

The cave is quite dark and cave-like on the outside, the inside being dark as well. It's not much warmed inside than it is outside, but it's a start.

Azuma: "We're gonna want to get a fire going if we want to make it through the night."

E"At least it should be dry in there."

*Everyone heads for the cave.*

Taiyo follows her in because she's pretty much joined to her at the hip.

It's dry all right, but it's dark and cold. On the plus side anyone who can see in the dark can see no signs of anyone living in the cave.

Azuma: "How you feeling, Patamon?"

Patamon: "Kinda sucky."

Azuma: "Well then. Roatha, feel like gathering kindling with Patamon and myself?"

R"From where?"

*Meanwhile, Euryale sits down & starts massaging her feet, trying to keep them warm & not numb. Guilmon curls up behind her.*

Taiyo sits down beside Euryale and fumbles around trying to open her backpack, fishing a blanket out of it which she drapes around herself and Euryale then pulls her legs up to her chest.

Azuma looks out to the forest.

Azuma: "Figured we could see if there's a gas station beyond this barren and lifeless forest. I only asked if you'd care to come along as going out alone in an unfamiliar world doesn't sound like a good idea."

Hitomi and Salamon sit at the back of the cave, Salamon sitting beside Hitomi who sits with her arms around her legs.

R"Alright, let's go out & get some wet kindling."

*He heads out.*

E"Guilmon, if it'll make you feel better, there's another blanket in my backpack."

<I'll go with you guys.>

*Eve and Terriermon follow Roatha and Azuma. Cameron turns back to Hitomi(

<Are you alright?>

Azuma: "It's better than nothing. I don't think everyone shares my dream of freezing to death in a strange new world."

The three set off into the cold dark forest.

Hitomi: "Yes."

In the still darkness, Salamon glares at Cameron.

*Eve and Terriermon, who is attached to her shoulder, continue on*

Cameron:<Just making sure.>

*Biyomon stares confusedly at Salamon*

*Since nothing to the contrary was mentioned, Guilmon digs that blanket out of Euryale's backpack & curls up with it. Euryale rests her head on Taiyo's shoulders & hugs her.*

R"Do you even see any wood that we can easily gather?"

Taiyo puts her arms around Euryale, still shivering.

Azuma: "Well, I'm not too adept at seeing in the dark. If it's within arms reach, give it a shake and try and snap it off. If not, hopefully one of the Digimon can."

Azuma stops when he gets a faceful of snow from a gnarly, multi-armed branch.

*Terriermon giggles at Azuma, while Eve looks around for a thin branch not likely to be covered in much snow. When she finds a suitable branch, Eve gives it a tug then leaps back*
